I felt the same way when I went to Nepal, It's exciting and new after living in SE Asia for a long time. Walking the streets of Kathmandu was really fun. Kinda reminded me of Phnom Penh from like 15 years ago.

So nice that you made it to Nepal I was there last July doing the Everest Base Camp Trek to celebrate my 60th birthday and I can’t wait to return a really fell in love with Nepal and the people so wonderful. Life is good.

nepal is a unique place, a place everyone must visit. The place still has much charm and antiquity to transport one to another world. Just be cautious of the food and water that's consumed. The moving wheels at a Buddhist temple is called spinning wheels.

Sawadeeka and Namaste you guy's. Welcome and thanks for exploring Nepal. Swoyambhunath stupa has very ancient history. The word Swoyambhu means self existed or self sprung. The legend says, The Bodhisatava from China we call him " Manjusri" and " Wenshu" in Chinese is the first to locate and recognize this site. Kathmandu valley was nothing but a giant lake and many Serpents we call them " Nagas" used to be in the lake as their home. Manjusri saw a giant lotus with the colorful rays above the water and many sentient beings around the lotus on this lake. He thought it is very significant and powerful site so he talked to " Nagas" to relocate to other lake which is south of the kathmandu area called " Taudaha" You guy's want to visit that site also. It is holy. People believe that's where the " Nagas" live now. Manjusri drained the water from the lake and established a valley so people can settle here and worship around the Lotus. It was not until 500 to 600 common era when the Lichivi king "Mandeva" constructed stupa around the Lotus during the Lichivi dynasty. Anyway enjoy your travel in Nepal and be safe and yes use pathau to travel around the Kathmandu and Pokhara.

This is going to be one of our favourite series 😍 We've done some traveling before with Nyima to Vietnam and Thailand but it's a new experience for us to meet Nyima in his home country. He's so knowledgable about Nepal and we're lucky to have him showing us around Kathmandu.
