I honestly prefer the Scottish flare over the regular version of this song. To be honest, the US Open on FOX Theme ain’t bad for that event, so I wish they could keep their own themes. Unfortunately, NBC doesn’t have the rights to use that theme, but I wish they at least kept this one for the Open as well.
Honestly golf should on be on NBC and CBS nowadays. ESPN had a good crew, but they basically phased out golf since they just want to be a NBA/NFL Network 2 at this point. At least CBS and NBC have a dedicated golf staff, and know how to present amazing moments and treat the fan as someone who loves the sport over trying to make stories out of nothing like Fox.
Judd Crane they still use “legend” a lot at the open, alongside the yanni theme. Nonstop Music has done some great golf themes, notably the excellent 2004-06 ABC golf theme which was also used for the Open Championship
Jacob Proskovec well in fairness the US PGA is used to distinguish between our PGA Championship and the BMW PGA Championship. The Open Championship is it’s official name. British is nowhere in the name anymore because so many great courses in Ireland and Scotland are used for the Open that it would be unfair to lump them all as “British”
Andreas J this is true, but the common misnomer is that “Britain” in and of itself is the other name for England. Not as many people as you think correctly understand the concept of the United Kingdom. So to make sure people know that it isn’t just an English championship, it is commonplace now to not call it the British Open, simply because it creates the misnomer effect that every course is in England, when in reality, Scotland and Ireland (both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland) have many great Open courses

NBC got the USGA/US Open back moving forward in 2020! We will now get this theme twice a year in 2021!

Patrick Anderson most of the people at fox used to work at abc. fox’s only bad year was 2015 when they had a bunch of novices

While I love this theme, nothing will top "Legend" by nonstop music (ie Open Championship theme) as the best golf theme. This is a close 2nd tho

Still strange to hear it with bagpipes but I understand why they did it.
I feel like they should play it with the bagpipes when it's in Scotland and then use the tradition instruments the years it's held in England.
