Hi everyone! I'm an American from the Northeast (New England). I want to create a watering hole for people who want to discuss, learn and teach about history through UA-cam videos which you guys recommend to me through the comment section or over on Discord. Let's be respectful but, just as importantly, not be afraid to question any and everything about historical records in order to give us the most accurate representation of the history of our species and of our planet!
Having a diverse perspective is crucial to what I want to achieve here so please don't hold back! I want to learn about all I can! Keep recommending and PLEAESE join my Discord :) ( / discord )

It makes me feel claustrophobic, but I bet the price tag would be ridiculous.

01:02 that ugly block is a listed building, the Trellick Tower designed by an architect called Ernő Goldfinger (yes like the James Bond Villain) in 1972. It's hideous but because some influential people got it listed it's protected. However the beautiful old Mappin & Webb building in London was listed and that got demolished and replaced by an ugly pink building so there's hope this can go the same way.

I've never been in the Trellick Tower, but people who lived in it have said it is good to live in and has great views. Also noticeable is the fire escape, which the Grenfell Tower did not have.

You are not a fan of Brutalist architecture then. Many people are. I guess it's a bit like Marmite - love it or hate it.

Simon Webb ("history debunked") recently explained there are countless unofficial small dwellings in London, built at the rear of properties. He recalls the difficulty of doing his work knocking on doors getting people to fill in census forms with so many people living in hidden dwellings, multiple occupancy etc. It's easy to see why there is a demand for any place to live in London.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was a TARDIS with a working chameleon circuit.

I can no longer mobilise easily and need my manual wheelchair (pushed by my daughter) to get around, so couldnt possibly manage stairs, such as surely must be in the tiny houses!!
As for a _laddr_ ...noooo wayyyy !!😅
I live in a ground floor flat and was moved here in 2012, after 18 years in a top (4th) floor flat not too far from my present home. (As for "a fat man could never ascend it" well, I'm sorry, I'm the female version!!) ...
RobsLondon has some great videos, lots of 'weird 'n' wonderful' informative, entertaing and interesting. Well worth investigating, Connor, if you'd like to further extend your knowledge of London - including the history of the London 'Black Cab' Driver's Shelters, which ordinary travellers / tourists can buy teas/coffees/soft drinks, snacks and hot meals from - but not enter, generally, as they're main and historical intent are to provide shelter and as cafes for the London 'cabbies'... There's even at least one which still has a 'hitching rail' attached to it - from the days when Hansom Cabs were pulled by horses.
I _think_ there are now only _13_ of these shelters (which are painted green, and are easily recognisable from their size and shape) left standing throughout London ...and *yes* what I've learned about the shelters (& _many_ other topics), I've learned from RobsLondon.😏🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿❤️🇬🇧🙂🖖
