Dude, there are many close games and bad calls in sports, wake up. There was nothing lucky about being ahead by a point with 5 seconds left. There was NOTHING lucky about not getting calls all game, and there is no need to redeem themselves. They beat a Great Baylor team, the defending National champs, who were older, bigger, stronger and faster, despite having 7 freshmen, no seniors, only 2 players with NCAA tournament experience( and very little at that) and missing a key starter( which really matters when you’re only going 7 deep) . Maybe you need to look up the word redeem. Stop it. Baylor was lucky the refs were UFC fans and the NCAA allows several men to play for their team. Also, she already won Big East Conf POY, Big East Freshman of the, Big East Tourney MVP, MVP of the River Walk bracket, National freshman of the year, ESPN POY, is the first Freshman finalist for the Wooden and Naismith awards, broke multiple Uconn records despite a shortened season, has already been called the best Bird and DT, was the # 1 recruit, was the first female on the cover of Slam, and has had more press and public accolades than any college freshman ( on women’s b ball) in history. You think one more award is all of a sudden going to raise expectations? Uh....no. If anything, it’s serves to put back on her where it belongs and on someone who can handle it, her teammates clearly can’t seem to. E and CW were under the radar and played great in S16, then everyone was talking about them and they felt it in theE8. Williams was awful for stretches and almost disappeared, but fought back until she missed 3/4 FT at clutch time( not even sure she was supposed to make the last one) and E was a ghost in the second half, didnt score and completely disappeared. Olivia and Edwards scored 7 points combined and wanted no part of the ball late in the game. They need the spotlight to be on Paige, she’s an Alpha, they are definitely not. Good players, but not Alpha’s by any stretch.
most compare "Buckets" to Curry (2 Guard) do not win championships Jordan proved that.. she's Nash (Point-2guard) her Magic-Bird-Russell VISION is like that.. she is going to do for the WNBA what Jordan-Magic-Bird-Russell did.. she's Tiger Woods; Serena Wms; Bruce Lee.. in a team format like Tom Brady she is always looking to pass get "Buckets".. its about the TEAM and a Christian AWESOME😇
Paige is a winner in every sense of the word. She works her tail off every day in the gym, in the weight room, in her academic classes, and in her relationships with those in her life. That's the mark of a true champion. 🏆

Caitlin might have won it if she played on the same stage as Paige. The pressure to do what Paige has done because of what team she's on makes it just a very different stage.
Clark also didn't play with the weight of expectation. Paige is playing for a program that has a litany of great players and a HOF coach, Caitlin plays for Lisa Bluder!. That's a level of pressure that Caitlin Clark didn't face and wont face. This shouldn't had to be explained. smh
Paige is a great player..but until she is willing to mix it up physically..like some of her team mates do..and be consistent in assists..she wont be a complete player. 10-22 fga and zero assists against Baylor are not great stats. She has had great games where she has shown well rounded perfomances.. so she has proven she can do it if she wants. I've been an enormous fan thru her HS days and now with Uconn..but I don't believe player of the year is deserved..especially as a freshman. There are at least 10 players more deserving..but being at Uconn is giving her notoriety..and kind of an undeserved claim to fame. This is not her fault..its the medias..i am hoping she uses this to turn her game up in all areas to be the fantastic player she already is and deserving of all the awards she no doubt will continue to receive. Go Paige..don't read your press clippings..just show us you're the best! .
Sometimes you hate to be correct..but the Arizona game was almost perfect in backing up what I said earlier. McDonald got no respect while Paige got it all..and the little guy comes out on top. I don't think Paige got the big head..i just think she's one of many great players out there.
