The thing is that Family guy's cut away jokes are better for a compilation format, while South Park's jokes are funnier when you have the whole context.

You forgot to mention that South Park is also just exponentially funnier. And has its thumb on the pulse of society better than anybody on the planet including any media corporation. South Park predicted the craziest things that are going on right now over a decade ago. They're almost as vindicated as Alex Jones has been.

Yep, the joke is that it's actually totally harmless IRL unless you're too weak to live. So they mock the people afraid of gluten by going to the extreme and pretending it's deadly.
