Just a tip: To increase your power, instead of building a ship you can buy a premade one that you or was already saved in the ship market. You can actually make a fleet of ships, and it's fun AS HELL
i wonder when he'll realize that the reactor core is what makes a ship an enemy... once you remove it you killed the ship... there's no health bar... the reactor is all that matters
Hey Lathrix! Quick question, have you tried making self-contained compartments for your most energy intensive systems? A lot of the negative aspects of shield arrays I'm seeing is that their energy cell stocks keep getting taken away by other systems, thrusters, weapons, factories, those things. So why not have a reactor, a few crew quarters, energy storage and the systems dependent on said storage isolated from the rest of the ship due to not having an access hallway? Dedicated crew for those systems alone.

Your craft is very good but a minor change to your laser setup could have you with 100 up-time _(delete the closest conveyor to your lasers that goes downward and move the doors on the two center lasers to the opposite side)_ the reason for this is because your crew is spending excessive time fighting that downward conveyor in order to access the corridor beneath the laser section leading to the center lasers instead of going through the lasers themselves.

What you will need: 1, a few well powered ion beams 2, a few large cannons 3, a lot of layered shielding 4, armour 5, a control room Method First destroy the hammerheads many cannon eyes with your own cannons.Next start coring down the middle of the space shark through armoured cores and corridors with your ion beams. Hypothesis I think the hammerhead will die. Result The hammerhead space shark died under the extreme pressure of dissection. Conclusion We found that our lathrixian laser dissector is a very good way to appease the blood god by cleaving through the inside if our enemy ships. P.S Plz call this ship either the Dissector or the cleaver. Thx
Thing with the both middle lasers is, I believe, that they have to walk over the walkway going back which slows them down even further then just getting another crew member in their face.
I watched almost the whole video before realizing that this ship also looks like a skull and very devilish skull indeed with sharp pointy horns, slit eyes and very sharp teeth at the bottom. :D Actually looks for real really scary. I think the creator of this game should add Lathrix's ships to the game and create a new difficulty level called hell and have all these skull ships there. :D
whats fun is when you build at a 90 degree angle and have a triangle of ion beams. all facing kinda towards the center. once you get close enough to hit something its like a pair of scissors.
Save fleet combat for a second season with FTL fuel off. It's far more involved with ship placement in battles, and your fleet needs to have proper composition if you don't use many large vessels. Most of my ships are around 200k credits, with three main class designs of defender, fighter, and screener. Screeners for me being light defensive ships used to destroy missiles and engines, mostly.
If you like ion beams then maybe try replacing a few cannons with more ion beams? The enemys you're fighting are large so ion beams placed where the cannons are would still be able to cut into the enemy in front of you.
I started playing this game and if you keep running out of space for FTL fuel then build a ship that had a lot of FTL drives and reactors and crew quarters and thrusters surrounding the giant block and whenever you warp to a new zone move it as far away as everything else as possible
It's impressive that you can even manage to make a ship look _decent_ at best in this game, since there are so many block placing restrictions, weapon visibility restrictions, and efficient space managing to keep track of. Honestly, I wish they would just make at least _some_ of the weapons as turrets you can place on top of armor blocks, because as it currently stands, if you want a ship with lots of frontal-firepower, you will have to make the front flat, wide, and ugly.
You might consider an FTL tanker ship which is just basic thrusters, power etc with lots of FTL drives. I have one that costs 100K fully loaded (I only give it enough FTL drives to store the fuel I'm going to make from the map so it's cheap to spawn (50K) and I just buy more tankers if I need more storage. Once you start getting larger ships you need the extra storage. The one problem is the tankers make emergency jumping difficult because they take forever and a day to activate all the drives compared to a normal ship
how i see armour works: shields: block cannon easily, but wide area means more time boing focused by beams and can be disabled armour: can't be disabled and is harder to focus through, but cannon shot can punch through and damage sections behind point defense: stop rocket burst damage, which can devastate non-overly-redundant armour/shields, fuck all else
if you guys ever want constant lasorz just isolate a reactor and a crew quarters with an ion beam. If they cant escape then they have no choice but to constantly shovel energy into it.
You can't switch between the two when painting however, which was what I was asking - Trying to do this will swap you back to normal build mode. So during build mode you will always default to exterior.
16:08 I don't think you have been paying attention to how they work, beam up time of 100% is not only possible, there are a few ways of doing it quite easily.
The reactors are how it counts what's an enemy. An enemy isn't defeated until you get all the reactors. Also, a little armor in front of a shield generator is always a good idea, otherwise it only takes a minimal amount of damage to take out the generator while the shield is down. Other than that, great build! Would you consider uploading them so we can try fighting them?
My night's not complete without a fresh video from Lathrix :D PS: Would it be a good idea to bristle the inside of the center front (where the lasers shoot out of) with tiny lasers? I thought it'd be the perfect place, perhaps not aesthetically though.
Lathrix! There are installed mods for this game! On the bottom of the menu! There I recommend you Large Galaxy and Large Ships mods. With Large Ships mod you are going to have LOADS of fun later in the game...
i build an entire ship focussint on the recessed lasers with the shield "towers" and it melts any enemy with those taking taking small damage. It "only" costs 3.6 million ... destroys all vanguards and more (tested all of the vanguards "and one own creaton weighin in on just over 5.2milloion ) ... it has 3times 4 lasers with the shieldtowers almost exactly like the cerberus ones and 3 rocket luchers on each side for a little bit extra destruction
if you want to rebuild by selling everything just go to blueprint mode and manually sell everything then when you are done building you make sure to have enough FTL drives to hold they fuel you have. That way you dont lose all your fuel..
you know, if you wanted to keep your FTL fuel, you could have just gone into blueprint-mode and scrapped your ship in there and as long as you added the same amount FTL drives, you would've kept all of the fuel.
you can redirect the cannons for pinpoint fire for them and you can also rotate the ship - and with that you can pinpoint where the lasers are supposed to fire at - there are these 4 arrow-thingies around your ship if you click and hold them you can rotate the ship~
I've done this in pretty much every video, but thank you regardless haha - I actually aim the cannons multiple times in this video, but I don't rotate the craft as due to the high mass/'weight' It's ability move in such a way in combat is fairly limited and its very time consuming for the video :)
It's a shame that crafts like this one wouldn't stand a chance against some of the new Vanguard level enemes, like the Onamura, which is basically a heavily defended "missile squid," or the Cegna Rei, which is basically a Galaga Fighter/Death Star hybrid that will kill basically anything you throw at it, in a one on one.
Not bad, you say. The Archangel is one of the most expensive crafts in the game and you beat it pretty easily. Although looking at how much you had to spend, I'm guessing yours cost quite a bit more than that.

Lathrix if you overlap the danger zones for the side thrusters at the back then you have space for more Missiles along the aft sides.

Building an ftl tanker ship full of FTL drives might be a viable strategy in this game since the fuel is shared between ships.
If you want your ion cannons to constantly fire, you need a reactor and stockpile for each.

The button on the bar next to the crew button (looks like a men's room symbol) switches between inside and outside view.

The archangel is just under 1,700,000 credits, this ship is just under 1,600,00 credits :)
