I think this hive will work out great this season. Thanks for all your information you take time to share with us . I have four NUCS I split this year waiting for the queen’s to hatch and mate then I will transfer to 8 frame hives and move to my other yard . The season is getting ready to go wide open. Thanks John
Thanks for vid and info on install to the long lang. I have just about got some long langs ready to move bees into them from nucs. Also got some long layens hives ready to install bees in them. I will be using a modified frames with two medium brood frames in it mounted vertical and one frame horizontal with eggs and lava to move bees into the layens. Happy beekeeping.
Now that is beautiful bee footage. I’m happy to see you reloading the long hive. I’ve seen all your long hive videos and feel like I’m part of it with you. Thanks for your time.
You're definitely a part of what we're doing here. Everyone who leaves a comment gets stuck in John's head and he thinks about you guys while he's in the bee yard. Thanks so much for leaving a comment!
I've used mediums in deep boxes many times works fine just rotate them out after they are done with the brood. They leave you a little wax on the bottom but won't make a mess of it. Great video as usual
I am also new to the long hive. You're watching as I learn too. :-) I do feel like the first advantage I've noticed is that I personally have no fatigue after working the colony. Stay tuned for more and we will learn together. Thanks for watching!
Sorry for the confusion. We have the long hives for sale in-store only. Shipping on one of these things would be quite hefty, so we don't sell them on our online store. Sorry about that!
Very new to this all, love the content! Watched all your videos. In this particular hive, is it only one colony for the whole box or can you do two separate colonies in it?
How does the Queen lay new Queen's or who tells her to lay the Queen cell. I have seen you take out six Queen cells ready to hatch out of one frame?😇😇😇
Here's a thought..... I know, scary right? LoL. How about you just set that Nuc inside the long hive last night & close it up to get them reoriented already in it?
Do you have experience with the Long Hive? Do you have questions for John? Drop us a line, we'd love to hear from you.
This video was so helpful!!! I'm so happy to find someone that knows Long hives. My husband make me two and I can't wait to keep learning from you.
Thanks for watching, Liz! Best of luck to you guys.
Nice looking calm bees :) Ty for the video, Blessed Days...
So nice of you. Thanks for watching!

Sounds like you've got an excellent season coming up! We can't wait to hear your progress, Kathy. Always nice to see your comments. Thank you!

Sounds like a great setup! Please keep us up to date on how your bees are doing. We love hearing from our friends in the bee yard.

Good timing on this. I'm getting ready to transfer a nuc into a long lang in a couple weeks. Enjoy your videos.
Awesome! We're glad you checked it out. Happy Beekeeping, friends! 🐝
As always, great video! Always learn so much from y’all!
Glad to hear it, Donna. We love keeping bees with you all. What a great community we're building here!

Good advice! Thanks for watching!
This is awesome! Thanks for the video brother!
Super happy to help, my friend! Thanks for the comment.
Thank you for the video. I'm looking to build long hives as a new beekeeper and appreciate seeing how to move nuc frames in.
Best of luck!
As a novice beekeeper I have NO experience with a long hive. What are the advantages and disadvantages as well as pros and cons??

Good deal i was going to say you forgot to fix the split board. Gorilla tape will hold till winter. Hope you have great luck with them. RTBBF
Haha, thanks Michael! I was wondering if you'd watch til the end to see the gorilla tape. 😂 This season should be great!
I don't see the long hives for sale on your website.....I thought in your first video about this box you said you would have them for sale?

@@CentralBeekeepersSupply What does one of these hives cost?
Give us a shout at the store and we'll talk over the options. (479) 968-4044

You could actually run 3 colonies in the long hive. :-)

Do you prefer the top boards better than a traditional inner cover?
Find queen put her down in bottom box put Queen excluder in between top and bottom and Wait till Copt brood hatch out
