- Ivor Taylor visited Ashton Gate this afternoon (Tuesday, March 19th) as the 102-year-old fan wished to touch the turf for 'one last time'.
Born in 1921 in Bristol, Ivor spent much of his life just a stones throw from Ashton Gate, a served his country in the Royal Air Force, reaching the rank of sergeant with the 'Lancaster Bombers'.
Upon leaving the RAF, Ivor joined the Fire Service, before later working with St John's Ambulance.
South Bristol through-and-through, he was taken on a behind-the-scenes tour of Ashton Gate by Supporter Liaison Officer , visiting the tunnel and home dressing rooms, before stepping out on to the pitch for a rendition of 'When the Red Red Robin'.

Nice one Ivor, The Red Robin is still bouncing along!
#"When the red, red, Robin comes Bob, Bob, bobbing along!.."#
I freaking love this dude. He is full of spirit!!
I'm not trying to digress or anything, but I feel that Ashton Gate doesn't chant or sing as much anymore. 20+ years ago, as a kid, I remember there were all sorts of songs and banter the fans would chant out. I was probably lucky enough to have a group of chanters next to me on the old Williams stand. (Ah yes... them cold old wooden seats and them gurt metal pillars blocking my view)
I would love to hear many of these old songs being sung again in the stadium, keep the spirit alive.
good showing him around
Absolutely fantastic
legend that is all 👌👌
Looks well for 102
Clearly had a great time 🎉
1ST COMMENT OMG I HAVE A RECORD OF GOING TO THE MOST BRC MATCHES IN 1 SEASON
Edit: such a wholesome video, hope he has an amazing rest of his life, LET’S GO ROBINS
Makes me so angry the way Lansdown has turnt our football club and stadium in to some f'king Rugby hybrid under the umbrella of "Bristol Sport". No wonder we havent challenged for the Premier League in 15+ years.
Loved seeing this man throw us back to a time when Bristol City Football Club was still Bristol City Football Club. Not Bristol Sport RFC.

Wonder what ivor would think of a club waving trans flags during the game!
