Steph Curry is the GOAT shooter, and he has some stats that will make your eyes pop. P.S. this video was made before Steph went NUCLEAR in the Gold Medal game lmao.
"If Steph went blind" is really ironic because he actually does have a degenerative eye condition called keratoconus which makes his shooting that much more impressive

For me i think 2021 steph is his best version of himself in terms of both offensively and defensively from an individual. He was imo still the same level of shooter from 2016, but also was a more refined slasher and playmaker, and wasnt afraid of contact like in 2016. His extra weight also allowed him to be a better defender and rebounder compared to 2016. 2021 steph also for me showed a level of self creation that steph was starting to show in 2018 more, as I think playing with KD, along with adding some muscle to himself allowed him to realize how to maximize the threat of his shot. 2016 steph showed the world just how near perfect basketball and a team can be along with how far ahead of their time the team was itself.

This was Excellent! And im going to bring it home: Steph is a transcendent player, a player with multiple strengths, a few weaknesses, and championships to tie it all together. A. He is the best shooter alive. Nobody combines his off-the-dribble shooting (players like Dame, Kyrie, Kemba are close but worse percentages on fewer shots from 3 per game) with his catch-and-shoot shooting. His catch-and-shoot-shooting is as good as or near Klay, Korver, Redick, Harris, Bogdanovic, etc. but none of those players has the handles to create shots or the range to hit from 35 feet. B. His handle. He has top-3 handles. He can pull up from anywhere, and if you play up on him too much, he can crossover and get to the rim. He can create separation from defenders using his behind the back and between his legs dribble. He is very good at weaving between traffic as well on a fast break C. His finishing ability. Steph’s percentage at the rim was 63% iirc in 2019, when he was healthy. That trailed three centers (Drummond, DeAndre Jordan, and someone else I’m forgetting) and LeBron. He was higher than Kyrie, who many consider the best finisher in basketball. In terms of points per drive, he is one of only 5 players who has averaged over 1.2 points per drive more than once (him, LeBron, KD, Harden, Kawhi). If you didn’t notice, each one of them is bigger and stronger than Steph. D. His efficiency. Steph Curry might be the most efficient scorer of all time. He takes the highest percentage shots (3’s, paint, free throws) and he makes them all better than anyone. Steph has the highest career efg% for a non big at 58.1%. In the playoffs, he has a efg of 55% which is higher than MJ, KD, and LeBron. He has the highest ts% for any non big man (not counting Cedric Maxwell because he was a role player and not the guy) at 62.3%. He has the highest ft% of all time at around 91%. He hasn’t missed a ft in the 4th quarter of the NBA finals since 2016. That’s extraordinary. E. His off-ball movement. This is something usually unseen by people. Steph might be the best off-ball star ever. He is up there with Bird, Allen, and his teammate Klay who is a wizard off-ball. Steph runs off screens like nuts and unlike Harden or Dame who pass and stand still, Steph starts running. Not only does this wear out the defense, they get hit running into screens at that speed. And with Steph’s lightning quick release, he only needs a few feet to take a shot. He runs floppy screens, he runs elevator screens, he sets fake screens and then gets wide open at the wing. He excels in PnR situations, as well as dribble handoffs. He is the only superstar outside of maybe KD who is just as effective on ball as he is off ball. F. His gravity and spacing. When a man can shoot from so far out, you have to play him up. But he will use his handles and shiftiness to drive past you and hit you with a razzle-dazzle layup or some floater. The whole floor gets stretched out to protect his deep 3. It’s common sense. Durant didn’t get doubled when he played there? Why? Not because he didn’t require one. The man is a matchup nightmare. But because you can’t leave Steph. Steph might shoot 0-12 from 3 but not a single defender would let him shoot the next 3 wide open. His gravity allows his teammates to excel and the spacing he provides allows his teammates to have space to work (whether it was KD iso on the block or Draymond running point forward). G. His passing. Steph is not a transcendent passer but he is a good enough passer that if you want him to get 10 assists, he can. In PnR or PnP situations, he is fabulous throwing lobs to the bigs or kicking it out the shooter in the corner. He gets a bit too confident sometimes and is a bit careless with the ball (Game 7 2016 Finals costly turnover) which is why is Assist to Turnover ratio isn’t the best (somewhere around 2:1). But he is a pretty good passer as well. In 2013 when he played the point under Coach Jackson he avg 9.5 asst. Per Game. H. His attitude. He is selfless, he has no ego, he only cares about winning, he is a leader in the locker room, he is a nice guy, he sets an example for his teammates, and he is very respectful. Steph usually never swears or makes rude remarks to reporters. I don’t recall a time Steph ever walked out of a press conference the way LeBron and Giannis have. Not many people are selfless enough that they would give up averaging 30 points per game and competing for MVPs to taking a backseat to KD and letting him have the shine. F. His work ethic. He works hard. He wasn’t the biggest or the strongest or the most athletic or the fastest. But Steph has worked on his craft to the point that he is one of the most skilled player ever. Steph is not just good, he is a transcendent player. And he is amazing to watch. Box office. He won Two! not one but Two Championships without a Top Seventy Five player! Let that sink in! He's not only broken some of Wilt's records(remember he played for the Warriors too) but he has some of his own that no one will touch! And he's still playing, so I repeat, what are they going to say if he wins six chips!? No one wants to answer that. Because right now he's the greatest winner percentage wise ever! His winning impact is greater than anyone and it's fact! photos.app.goo.gl/R9ss7kvzmxZCnxL86
@@lynchone117 Yea, the winning impact is undeniable. Simply looking at him, he isnt LeBron, but neither is any other top 15 player outside of Jordan. There is no other player all time that actually competed with a goat contender for an era. Only Steph. Also, for the non top 75 point, Kobe and Steph have pulled off the same feat (both won twice). Duncan did it 3 times, which is impressive. These guys are easily top 7 all time. LeBron and Hakeem both did it once. If you want to stretch it past that 75 team, Pau, Kyrie and Manu are better than Draymond (I consider him better than Klay all time). Props to Hakeem, his #2 in 94 was Sam Cassell, arguably the worst #2 ever. The next year he had Clyde Drexler though. Ironically, Andrew Wiggins and Andre Iguodola are also in the worse #2 ever convo. So really only Steph has done it twice in the genuine sense, and had some of the worst talent while doing it. Its weird cause Klay/Draymond hadnt peaked yet in 2015 and in 2022 they were on the decline. Steph's hardest titles his main core werent at their best. Are Klay/Draymond even top 100 all time? 150? In the dynastic sense, Draymond and Klay are the worst core by far. Kareem/Magic Worthy Cooper, Bird Johnson McHale Maxwell Parish, Duncan Manu Parker, Jordan Pippen Rodman, Shaq/Kobe (anyone cause that duo is nasty). Sidebar, Bird and Magic has some of the most stacked teams ever. Yet Magic is magically in top 5 convos.
As a Dub fan, I will never take Steph for granted. My team was a laughing stock before he blossomed into the superstar he is today. We will never see a player quite like him, and it's not just his outside shooting he's a master at attacking the rim with layups as well. Complete package
@HypocritesExposd absolutely agreed. We basically won 20 games for a couple seasons before Steph git drafted. Even during his rookie year I think we won like 27 games
Yeah, he gets punished for being smaller, when he is pound for pound the greatest ever, if MJ and Lebron were 6´3 they would be G leaguers, or bench warmers.
@@yeshuaisking1247 he not even 6’3”. Curry is about 6’2” on a good day. But he’s among the greatest efficiency scorers of all time. You have to compare his numbers to the best bigs of all time. No Gaurd has ever scored as efficiently
Steph during the regular season sees double teams almost if not more than Luka. Doesn't have a real big man, so penetrating the inside to open his shot up is just harder. And has an entire organization who mishandles his twilight years. Steph will never get enough credit.
no one in the history of has ever been able to accomplish what he has done at 6'2" or come even remotely close. If he was 6'6" he would be #1 on everyone's list because he would have been literally unstoppable. But he wasn't 6'6" (and he was still unstoppable). So yes. It took skill. Unbelievable natural talent that will be very difficult to replicate in several lifetimes.
this "most skilled baller" belongs to Kyrie Irving honestly speaking, Curry only excels in shooting, nonetheless handles and finishes is obviously Kyrie hands down, we ain't talking rings here, its just skills vs skills. And if you want to compared basketball players regarding to accomplishments and dominance then your GOAT is Bill Rusell, Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul-Jabaar.
@cosmicreaverkassadin1143 wrong. Kyrie is the craftiest for sure, but it doesn't warp entire defenses like Stephen curry. Just stop with that nonsense. It's literally fucking retarded. Steph is a complete 3 level scorer and is the most talented basketball player to ever live. He's six foot fucking two and it took the league 10 years to catch up. Shut the fuck up
@@cosmicreaverkassadin1143 Shooting is the most important skill in basketball BY FAR so... It's Curry. Basket-ball literally means shooting the ball in to the basket Plus Curry is as crafty as Kyrie with the ball and he is a better finisher around the rim. Finally a video with the appropriate amount of flowers! No trying to put people in his lane who he is clearly better than, no trying to include other people and give them credit for his success, just pure, unadulterated and deserved curry glaze 😌 thank you
Unfortunately, in defining the greatest shooter of all time, you neglected one category - Free Throw shooting! Oh yeah - Steph has the highest career Free Throw percentage of anybody as well!
As a Warriors fan for 20+ years, it's amazing that we got to see him all those years. We have been so lucky. He is such a great person. Nothing bad around him ever. But watching this, it puts some perspective to what we have been watching for all those years. We kind of take it for granted but when you see the numbers and the gap between him and the rest, it's mind bugling, I know we won't have him forever and whenever he decides to retire, we will miss him but we will enjoy the last few years because, like he has shown during the Olympics, he still has a lot in tank.
They talked at the beginning of his career about how sure he'll make a bunch, but you can't keep up that volume with a high efficency. Well that first graph shows how much of an anomaly he is. 43% with over 3200 and he's still got plenty of seasons left in the tank.
It's even more incredible when you put together a point in his early career with multiple ankle injuries on a non winning team... almost everyone was counting this man out... now best shooter, top 10 dribbler and point guard, and had seasons that he was more efficient in the pain than LeBron
1 thing you failed to mention in this video - compared to his rivals Curry does many of these thing in lesser minutes. Some games were so dominant he just sat in 4th quarter. If he wanted to stat pad he would have even more 10+ 3P games, better ppg etc. LBJ is making his averages in 3.5+ minutes more per game. We saw recently, and many times before, what can Curry do in 3 minutes.. People underestimate this factor so often it's simply bad. PER36 boosts Curry's stats instead of lowering them.
And he did all that while constantly being the focus of defenders, often double or triple teamed. Creating his own space while being mugged behind the arc.
Curry being in another galaxy with the 10+ 3's made stat is actually fucking insane...the streak is truly a record I genuinely dont think we'll ever see broken period...The game is only going to get better, with Curry being the revolutionizer of the 3 pt shot defense against it is only going to get better...With 3's becoming more common we just need someone with longevity and decent efficiency/accuracy to break LeBrons all time point record...but curry's streak??? yeah that's never going to be done again...
@@Post2k69 keep up the good work bro you’ll be big soon if you have consistent, mark my words and you can come back when you hit 10k 20k 30k and so on.
Admit it or not, despite the many critics of Curry, his giant contribution and legacy in the game of basketball are undeniable and firmly established. Instead of focusing on criticism, let's not overlook the greatness demonstrated by the GOAT shooter. Let's just enjoy the moment. Only a fool would say that Curry is not in the top five.
And idk why nobody ever brings this up but one stat that’s always been crazy to me is how nobody had ever made 300 3s in a season before steph curry, that season he made 400…nobody has come close before or after
What impresses me about Steph, is his unwavering self belief. In the group games during the Olympics, he was by his own standards, very poor and not getting much buckets. In and interview, when asked about his poor shooting, he said: I just keep practicing, knowing that the floodgates will open. Cool and calm as you like. And, boy, did the floodgates open! 😮

@@lynchone117 yes! And haters will never admit any of this 💯
@@lynchone117 Yea, the winning impact is undeniable.
@@lynchone117The amount of running he does on the court is insane I wonder if there’s a stat for that somewhere
the Draymond stray had me laughing 😂
this is some great stuff
the visuals of this video
the breakdown of the analytics
and finally the commentary everything is very well done
thank you bro that means a lot :)
As a Dub fan, I will never take Steph for granted. My team was a laughing stock before he blossomed into the superstar he is today. We will never see a player quite like him, and it's not just his outside shooting he's a master at attacking the rim with layups as well. Complete package
This. Being a Warriors fan during the mid/late 90s and 9 of 10 years in the 2000’s was comparable to being a Cleveland Browns fan.
@HypocritesExposd absolutely agreed. We basically won 20 games for a couple seasons before Steph git drafted. Even during his rookie year I think we won like 27 games
This video is the epitome of numbers don't lie. Steph isn't just the greatest shooter of all time, but the greatest PG of all time.
This is advertised as a GOAT shooter video but it’s a decent Case for GOAT period.
Decent, but he galls off on the defensive side
I think we should consider him one of the all time greats but not just shooter
Steph Curry is a Komodo dragon, he is an ICBM. This guy is nuclear
He's interstellar, a supernova that can erupt at any time
@@cha3ryb3rry and you’re right
Glad I clicked this video. All these stats were absolutely amazing and solidify without a shadow of a doubt that Steph is the GSOAT. 👍👏🥵🥵🔥🔥
SUBBED! 😊
This has to be one of the most important videos of the decade. I shall subscribe, good sir.
Steph during the regular season sees double teams almost if not more than Luka. Doesn't have a real big man, so penetrating the inside to open his shot up is just harder. And has an entire organization who mishandles his twilight years.
Steph will never get enough credit.
The only reason he's not in the GOAT conversation is people don't understand the game.
To be arguably top 10 at 6’2 is unheard of
thumbnails goes crazy, timing is amazing, and video is quality
Love the high quality basketball content you're underrated
that means a lot man thank you :)
Curry is the most skilled baller in history
no one in the history of has ever been able to accomplish what he has done at 6'2" or come even remotely close.
Shut the fuck up
I hate when braindead retards who don't understand ball think they can speak in front of adults
@@cosmicreaverkassadin1143 Shooting is the most important skill in basketball BY FAR so... It's Curry. Basket-ball literally means shooting the ball in to the basket
Plus Curry is as crafty as Kyrie with the ball and he is a better finisher around the rim. His style isnt as flashy to look at but he can cross anyone anywhere as efficiently as Kyrie AND finishes alot better then Kyrie too
This is great content, keep at it lad. You got a future here
absolutely bro thank you
that was a very well and put together video. good work @post2k! new sub cuz the GOAT would want me to
love hearing that homie thank you :)
Finally a video with the appropriate amount of flowers! No trying to put people in his lane who he is clearly better than, no trying to include other people and give them credit for his success, just pure, unadulterated and deserved curry glaze 😌 thank you
This man is not human…
Keep it up mate. I'm new to your channel, but this definitely won't be my last video from you

Amazing video and yes STEPH IS THE GOAT 🐐
this channel gonna blow up, keep up the good work
Unfortunately, in defining the greatest shooter of all time, you neglected one category - Free Throw shooting! Oh yeah - Steph has the highest career Free Throw percentage of anybody as well!
I wish he went into depth on this point cause his is crazy!
bro thank you for putting the effort into making this video. I'm sure you'll have plenty of material to make another one before it's all said and done
This is actually a good vid i cant belive it good job man we need more vids like this
I've seen nba since MJ era but Steph is my GOAT, he's the one who made me watch NBA again.
Well, haters gonna hate though.
Incredible data analysis, visualization, and narration! Well done!
Awesome video man, keep it up you'll hit it big
It's even more incredible when you put together a point in his early career with multiple ankle injuries on a non winning team... almost everyone was counting this man out... now best shooter, top 10 dribbler and point guard, and had seasons that he was more efficient in the pain than LeBron

Someone's gotta make a Steph commercial with his own jingle. Just a super edit with all his post shot dance moves!🕺🏾
Dude you’re gonna be big with this quality! I just subbed to jimmy’s long lost brother! 🤣Awesome work and keep it coming! 💪🏽
Greatest player of his generation.
w video def putting it in my underrated videos playlist
And he did all that while constantly being the focus of defenders, often double or triple teamed. Creating his own space while being mugged behind the arc.
If the league called all the off ball fouls from stephs defenders, we’d more accurately be able to see how good he actually is.
Steph is the Goat! Best guy at ball in basket, in a game where you put ball in basket...simple
I’m so lucky to be born in the 90s. We’ve got to witness the best nba players of all time.
This channel is on the come up 👊🏾💥

Bruh. Imma be sharing these graphs. Believe that.
I like your jimmy highroller vibes
Admit it or not, despite the many critics of Curry, his giant contribution and legacy in the game of basketball are undeniable and firmly established. Instead of focusing on criticism, let's not overlook the greatness demonstrated by the GOAT shooter. Let's just enjoy the moment. Only a fool would say that Curry is not in the top five.
Such insane quality. Like finding a diamond in a gold mine.

Imagine if Steph played just half his out games, imaging how much more crazy his stats would be.
You’d expect someone so efficient at shooting the ball take only the easiest shots but oh how wrong you would be and that’s why I love the guy
He's a cheat code. It's just not fair.
Jordan could stick his tongue out and fly through the air sideways for TWO points. Curry can shoot the rock for THREE.
⚠️ Alert, exceeding basketball illiteracy threshold
Dumb take
Steph is the reason I love basketball 🏀 ❤
same bro
Steph had an 0 for in the Olympics. He was still adjusting and boy did he.
For a non-shooter center, Jokic has a pretty decent TS% (63.5) and average shot distance (10.1ft).
You got a sub man. Chills ❤
That 2021 season was incredible. Too bad the supporting cast wasn't as good.
Deym! They can say Magic is a better PG but seeing this feature, no doubt. He a top 5 player all-time. A pound for pound great player. Man this is intense.
