The spiritual successor to my Jade Car video!! I’m still working on honing my video-editing and narration skills, I appreciate everyone who gave me feedback on my last video. This time I wanted to tackle something a bit older. Not as much discussion on this one since the narration was longer, and (for reasons elaborated on in the video), discussion and dissection of the original is…. difficult for me.

Holy shit I love this so much..... I love how you managed to so well portray each character as both not in the right but also as being understandable and complex people, if that makes sense. I ended up really feeling for Lynera especially, but this combined with the jade car video do a good job at showing that she is more than capable of seriously harming others too, weather physically or not. I love how despite him having somewhat understandable motivations, Lanque is still very much a piece of shit, and no matter how justified he thinks he is its still not ok for him to treat the others like that. There's so much thought and care put into each of the three jades shown here, and I love the bit at the end where you briefly touch on the fact that these guys are all like. Barely adults. At the end of the day, they're all just teens living in a really fucked up society, and that of course fucked all of them up. Idk if any of this made sense, but Ive been a big fan of yours for a few years now, and it's been really amazing getting to hear you talk in depth abt your ideas! One last little unrelated thing, I just wanted to say that your content was one of the biggest things that helped me realise I'm agender? I just wanted to thank you for that real quick I guess dbdvdbshsjdf. Ok, Im done yelling now. I hope you're having a good day/night :)
Man that was good. I don't wanna spoil it for anyone inadvertently looking at the comments but like, every 5 minutes at the end there I just wanted to pause and dive as deep into all the wonderful concepts you opened up. (if you haven't watched it, watch first)
I expected you to just rather juice up his personalty, i felt like he was just angry/caty without substance. Like a vernier stretched over nothing. However the introduction made me think I missed / didn't understand what was there. (of course not trying to ask to talk about it.)
But that's not what this was. It was of course much more.
The bereft and depth of their conflicts was, extraordinary.
I find this hard to put into words because rather fortunately i can't empathize with him too much. (except maybe a fear of needles. Or maybe he was just so adversed to Lynera at that moment. Understandable.) I do however understand his feelings of jealousy and abandonment. Less so the second. And certainly what he seems to do witch is to constantly spew bile and hate in every direction, even at those you'd purport to be close to, in an effort to protect one's self.
And then Lynera. Oh Lynera. It's such a change to think of her as someone who's been wronged as well as doing wrong. it was a change. But it was also more generally realizing that you had been wronged. Bronya finding out that Lanque was treating Lynera the same way he was treating her thus coloring her actions in a new way, and Linear finding out someone she unequivocally thought was her friend had done something so hyenas where really reminiscent of somethings i have experienced. Being able to look back on your own actions and the way people have treated you and being able to correlate those things in new ways. (it might sound like I'm trying to excuse some actions here but i most certainly am not.) For example looking back on an old friendship and seeing now just how bad it was for you thanks to a newer better friendship. Or that maybe the environment you grew up in was a little worse than you thought. I dunno maybe I'm reaching a bit but just starting to think that maybe the things that have happened to you effected you deeper and in more ways than you realized.
Anyway onto kinda the simpler part of this
I really liked what you did with Elwurd. I don't remember liking her as much when playing her FriendSim. I still don't know that she's the best for Bronya. Although jezz maybe at this point that's kinda that's other way around.
I was waiting for this to come out before i did but i do wanna try some early life jade writing. That could be interesting.
I love Dr. and the concept of the surface jades. I can't wait for your full picture of them. I'm excited to see what the good doctor's symbol is. I like symbols.
Man i feel like I've forgotten some things i wanted to say so ill end it with this. The reason this is so fun to watch is because when someone's passionate about something you can connect with that and be swept up in it. Joy is infectious. The reason so many things out here on the internet hold attention better than anything absurd Hollywood money can buy. And of course i think you are an amazing writer. Characterization might be the most important part of writing and you are fantastic at it.

*so UA-cam decided to throw out a good bit of my comment. (witch is totally fine I'm not upset or anything.) I've tired to reconstruct it the best i can but i don't know how much i was able to remember. I typed this for a long time. I think the Lynera section is the most different. But that's what happens when you write with emotions. Cant recapture. I'm going to save this in case this happens again. If i still can't make this work i guess i'll just accept that this hates me. Of course the detailed UA-cam comment doesn't work. My life is hell.
That was so so lovely honestly. I love your inclusion of Bronya in it and the way you wrote Lynera, also I rather your version of Lanque over the one we saw in Friendsim (as I haven't play Hiveswap yet to know how he's written there) I loved this so much ^w^
I love your rewrite it's wonderful it's a very fun and more interesting spin on his story, though it is more his and Lynera's, but I rather like that! I like Bronya being the instigator of this and I like this headcanon of surface jades being doctors bc that's really cool! It's very much and I think your rewrote it wonderfully! You're very creative! ouo
also your art piece here is absolutely gorgeous I love their designs and outfits they both look very lovely!!!
great video! despite how long it is, I found it was very engaging. the writing style WAS a little confusing sometimes without being able to see it on paper, but any confusion was only momentary. I gasped when it was revealed how bronya had lied to lynera like that! it was also nice to watch the speedpaint, it helped me focus on the audio.
The narration and dialogue on this rewrite was simply great. I can honestly say that I enjoy your interpretation of the jadebloods way more than the originals. It's great to see they how flawed they are, how they are constantly making mistakes and trying to cover them and, ultimately, being unable to deal with the situation. After all, they are a bunch of teenagers who grew up in a fucked up system and had to figure out how to balance their life with their responsibilities
I was captivated from start to finish, and I think you have great ideas regarding the worldbuilding and what living in Alternia would do to a troll

I didn't catch the premier on time and joined halfway through so I decided to just watch the video when it was done so I didn't feel weird only hearing the last half. I can't wait to listen to this :0

Also the first time I watched this I made all the wrong decisions so I would have gotten every bad ending in the FriendSim route
And Lanque didn’t want Lynera getting near him. If only he had known what he could have gotten into with Dr. Orvosi.

What was the inser- I mean insult that Lanque said? It sounded like you said "woah."
The insult (insert, lol i am so bad at talking) was omitted purposely from the text for being something vile enough that I, or any of the other characters, wouldn't want to say it out loud. the "woah" was MSPA reader's reaction to to lanque saying it
