After keeping long hair, I learned the importance of using hair oil which is sunnat. One cannot keep long hair without applying oil atleast once a week. Otherwise, man will face severe hair loss. Hairs will be present on eating plate.
i was really inspired by hazarat dharar ibn azwar (RA) . he was known for his long hairs and fighting with his shirt /armour off during battles . and hazrat khuraim (RA) .
I reckon long hair may be beneficial in winters in cities or countries where there is freezing cold like Kashmir. But in summers, I prefer to get hair short because I feel less hot.

Points of contradiction 1. when you say that look if the good people of your time are doing it or not so you will get counted in them or related to them but my question is by whom you should get recognised among them, Do you want to be recognised by the people or by Allah. 2.many muslims sisters started using hijab for the wrong reasons may Allah protect our brothers and sisters. Should we then abandon it as per the people of knowledge and ask them to use the clothes that are prohibited so we won't resemble with them. My dear brother I have a huge respect for you but are we making Islam easy to apply as it was in the time of prophet Mohammad PBUH or we complicate it with things that won't affect the relationship of a person with Allah. If a brother is letting his hair grow and is saying it is sunnah, we only should provide the rulings put down by the prophet of Allah not anyone else. So he would be aware of it. Wallahi we are creating a gap between the youth and Islam just because we are trying to get into their lives from every end and in that chase we are losing them. May Allah grant us all the knowledge that was revealed to the Prophet of Allah and by the prophet of Allah.
