I played keys and vocals in Biloxi from 1988 - 1990 then switched to drums and vocals from 1990 - 1992. I am slowly adding several of the older Biloxi songs to my UA-cam channel (Gwim20) Keep checking in regularly! Remember these are all tranferred from cassette tape. Jim Toucey
I so agree with you...I miss the 80s so much...if only i could build a time machine and go back to the 80s i would never come back ...but the 80s will live on in me with all the memories i have and think back to and play my music loud and dance around the house ...i do it everyday....Take Care
@@blueeyes80sgirlforever35 I'm completely agree with you blue eyes, i really miss so much those beautiful years full of hope of a bright future, take good care you too 👍 greetings from Italy 🖐️
If only we could get that decade back, or at the very least even the 70s economy here in the US. Sadly it's been going on a downhill slope since. Us in gen Z can't afford shit even with two jobs.
Fun facts from one of the original band members: - This was recorded in 1989 by the original Biloxi lineup. Clyde Holly (Lead Vocals & guitar), Jim Toucey (Keys and backing vocals), Levell Price (Bass & backing vocals), Tony Radford (Drums). - Clyde Holly played rhythm guitar and the solo on this song. - Clyde owned many, many Hamer guitars at the time. - Bass player, Levell Price, went on to later play with The Eric Sardinas Band. - This is a 48-track recording done at Chameleon Studios in San Fernando, California. (2) 24-track, 2-inch decks synched together. Yes, this was just a demo. - John Fogerty was recording in the studio next door to us for several months. I fixed one of John's tube amps while we were recording there. - Sheena Easton was auditioning band members for her "Lover in Me" tour in the rehearsal room next door. I ended up running sound for her rehearsals after the Biloxi recording was done. - We had The Cars live audio engineer, Chuck Fetyko, mixing and co-producing. - Drummer, Tony Radford, was using the new Paiste 3000 cymbals at the time. - I was using all Korg Keyboards at the time. - We used to rehearse in a small room in Vernon, California. Send any early band questions to Jim Toucey at Gwim20
Those vocals are really incredible, like a combination of Michael sweet from Stryper and Steve Perry from journey, as near to perfection as you’re gonna get 👍
I heard this song only on the local hard rock station in Ottawa Ontario Canada in the fall of 1993.They played a syndicated show after midnight till 4 am but I never knew who played this incredible song! Thank you so much!!!!
Only recently heard this song, and it is amazing! Huge vocals, Awesome riffs, Catchy chorus and a killer solo. We need more of this awesomeness in life!
This wasn't from '94, it was from 89/90. Apparently Clyde and some Japanese company re-released our demo in Japan as an album. The musicians listed on the album artwork were NOT the musicians/band members that wrote and recorded these songs. The original, founding Biloxi members on these recordings are (in alphabetical order): Clyde Holloman - Lead Vocal, Guitar Levell Price - Bass, Backing Vocals Tony Radford - Drums Jimmy Toucey - Keys, Backing Vocals
+Tony Radford It's such an honor to have you here, Mr Radford. Unfortunately I own the cd and the japanese company had written "1994" :( how are you, sir? Could you say anything more? I mean, about Biloxi and you career after that. I'm really interested. Thank you so much for being here and for your comment, dear Mr Radford

After a few listens , that Jake E Lee resemblance in the small bit gives the chills. What Jake E Lee did on SITD was outstanding. Also reminds me of Chris De Garmo’s guitar work on Lady Wore Black.
AOR/melodic rock should have never gone out the way it did three decades ago. Most of the rock from today is pure crap, especially this alt/indie and electropop junk that passes off as rock nowadays. Time for AOR/melodic rock to come back strong and knock alt/indie back and pop where it belongs...way down the charts.
Where are they now? I'm not a Dog owner and do not believe in wearing Wife-beater T-Shirts. I'm so glad that I was taking heavy medication and missed The 80's.
I wish guitar-based and key/synth-heavy AOR/melodic rock like this could make its long waited comeback. I'm so damned sick of today's lame pop crap like Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Machine Gun Kelly, Ariana Grande, Harry Styles, Ed Sheeran, Billie Eilish, Halsey, Paramore and Olivia Rodrigo. Rock 'n' roll needs to come back full force in 2025.
This was originally recorded as a demo tape in 1988 to attract record labels. Years later, our 6-song demo was packaged and sold under the name "Checkmate the Game's Over". Clyde Holly later re-recorded it with new band members on the CD "Right the Music". He changed the style quite a bit.

Keep calm and listen to your heart
Listen to Your Heart
Lyrics by: Clyde Holly
You're playing hide-and-seek with love
Every single day and night
Even in your wildest dream
You wonder if it's wrong or right
Deep in the night
Something deep inside me
Telling me it's real this time
Listen to your heart
Listen again
Listen to your heart
First rate heart attack
Skip another beat
You may never turn back
You wanna feel it again
Feel it again
Something deep inside me
Telling me it's real this time
Listen to your heart
Listen again
Listen to your heart
Once upon a time
Not long ago
You could feel it endless
Now you wanna get high again
High on love
Something deep inside me
Telling me it's real this time
Listen to your heart
Listen again
Listen to your heart
Listen to your heart
Listen again
Listen to your heart
You better listen to heart
Listen to your heart
Your Heart
Listen to your heart
