Hello, i'm excited at trying to make suspenders for my son and his little cousins :) I have a question though, how would you take measurements for a bigger/taller sized child? Do you measure certain key points? and then do you cut the fabric to that measurement? Or would you add an inch more or so?

These are so cute! I definitely want to try and make this for one of my cousins little boys since all I have are girls. I would also like to learn more on how to do patches 😁. Did you use cut away or tear away for the stabilizer?
Karlie Belle the first time @ I did tear away and it was awful 🤣 so this time I did cut away and cut the stabilizer with scissors
Casandra L yes I’m thinking we would need several layers of tear away since the design is so dense. I’m gonna check Eve @ The Baby’s Booty. She does a lot of patches I think and has videos on it.
What measurements would you recommend for a newborn size looking to make some suspenders for my nephew due in February
Best thing is to take his measurements, I’ve never done them that small

Have you tried using heat and bond lite to iron on the patches together with the suspenders in place then taking it to the machine to do a secure stitch around the patch?
