ఆరోగ్య సంరక్షణకు ప్రజలు ఇస్తున్న ప్రాధాన్యంతో ఇప్పుడు చిరుధాన్యాలు ఎక్కడ లేని ప్రాధాన్యతను సంతరించుకున్నాయి. మంచి పోషకాలు కల్గిన వీటికి ఎనలేని డిమాండ్ . అలాంటి చిరుధాన్యాలకు ప్రసిద్ధి చెందిన సంగారెడ్డి జిల్లా జహీరాబాద్ రైతులు వాటి సాగు, సంరక్షణను ఓ పెద్ద పండుగగా చేసుకుంటున్నారు. దానికి పాత పంటల జాతరగా నామకరణం చేసి చిరుధాన్యాల ప్రాముఖ్యతను చాటుతున్నారు. ప్రతి ఏటా సంక్రాంతి సందర్భంగా నిర్వహించే ఈ ఉత్సవం సంప్రదాయ చిరుధాన్యాల పంటల ప్రాధాన్యాన్ని తెలుపుతోంది. దాదాపు నెల రోజుల పాటు సాగనున్న ఈ జాతర ద్వారా ఊరూరా తిరుగుతూ దీని కోసం ప్రచారం చేస్తున్నారు.
ఈ సారి రజతోత్సవం కావడం ఈ పండగ మరో విశేషం.
