    Mondrian's designs were very popular in the mid 1960's. My mom had a Mondrian inspired scarf which I still have today, and my uncle had a shirt with a similar design. I am now knitting a Mondrian design pullover. I love his work.

    Thanks for the insightful video! Interestingly, Mondrian never used a ruler to draw such crisp and straight lines

      why are blocks amazing?

    • @JameswiththeClay
      @JameswiththeClay 2 роки тому +2

      @@KolyaUrtz I personally find the blocks amazing because of the colors. Sure, they are the primary colors, but it is the freshness they give. The appeal and where the color lay that really make me fancy it.

    Mondrian seemed to have sensed that computers were coming to birth and laid the basic foundations for digital art.

    Mondrian fue un pintor holandés; conocido por su patrón de colores. Es curioso que dicho patrón sigue estando de moda hoy en día.

    I was wondering where was MR Benno TemBel for 75 years whilst Mondrian's painting was displayed upside down on VARIOUS musems around the world . And also what happened with all the critics that never noticed that mistake ?Do they still function as art critics ?

    This is what I call: "Shopping bag art". I don't know if you understand the word, or I have to turn it upside down and inside out, and analyse it. A Mondrian picture has been hanging upside for 75 years. If there was an artistick meaning in it, someone would have found out sooner. It is not like: "I have a picture of Dolly Parton. I don't care which way she is turned. Ha Ha Haw Ha Haw Ha".

    I love all of Mondrian's work--up until the works he became famous for. Most of his work connects very powerfully with my very soul. But for some reason, he went down a cold clinical, intellectual rabbit hole where I am unable to follow.
    I loved his abstract works up until it became too theoretical--too unfelt. Personally, I think he lost touch with everything that made him great--his emotional and spiritual power!

    What is that new plastic idea. Idea of what, and in which way is it plastic? it finds an expression of what, or what does it express? When I look at those squares, what should i see or feel? Or should I meditate maybe? I am completely ignorant and find no help.

    • @aclark903
      @aclark903 3 роки тому +1

      I think it helps to realize that so called naturalistic art is abstract in as much as it cleverly reduces 3D to 2. Paintings are flat, life is 3D so already some illusion is going on.

    All good art--is inherently abstract shapes, composition and color interactions. He had that from early on. He did not develop from a figurative (code for inferior and old fashioned), painter--to an abstract (code for superior, leading edge painter). He was always fantastic, except for some student work. His earlier abstract work had all the superior qualities of his previous work. Then, for some reason, perhaps in an attempt to be original and intellectual--he lost the great emotional and spiritual power that he'd always had, and became cold.
    That's what I see. I feel no passion in his more famous and iconic works.
