- Artist Piet Mondrian is known today for his patterns of black lines and bold, primary colors. But he started out painting classic Dutch landscapes. An exhibit at the Gemeentemuseum in The Hague traces the artist's path to abstraction. Photo: Gemeentemuseum

Mondrian's designs were very popular in the mid 1960's. My mom had a Mondrian inspired scarf which I still have today, and my uncle had a shirt with a similar design. I am now knitting a Mondrian design pullover. I love his work.
I’m planning to use this video for my 4th grade math class. I’m teaching geometry. Math and Art are everywhere and this helps connect those dots
Thanks for the insightful video! Interestingly, Mondrian never used a ruler to draw such crisp and straight lines
Mondrian seemed to have sensed that computers were coming to birth and laid the basic foundations for digital art.
Yes, I feel this as well.💯
How does this only have 28 comments this was 2 year’s ago and they have 2.2 million subscribers even the frustrated gamer with 100k got more comments straight away
This was a very informative video, especially considering its length. Thank you!
So iconic that it could be hung in art galleries all over the world upside-down and no one notices. 🤣 Modern art is a joke.
Im using this for art class 😭😭💖😊

I like Piet mondrian's arts work.He did very very well and the blocks are so amazing. Duh. He's an artest of couse he is so good.
why are blocks amazing?
@@KolyaUrtz I personally find the blocks amazing because of the colors. Sure, they are the primary colors, but it is the freshness they give. The appeal and where the color lay that really make me fancy it.

This is what I call: "Shopping bag art". I don't know if you understand the word, or I have to turn it upside down and inside out, and analyse it. A Mondrian picture has been hanging upside for 75 years. If there was an artistick meaning in it, someone would have found out sooner. It is not like: "I have a picture of Dolly Parton. I don't care which way she is turned. Ha Ha Haw Ha Haw Ha".
I didn't know that in 1911 poland existed on a map (with western border on Neisse river)...
A prime example. The Partridge family bus.
I was wondering where was MR Benno TemBel for 75 years whilst Mondrian's painting was displayed upside down on VARIOUS musems around the world . And also what happened with all the critics that never noticed that mistake ?Do they still function as art critics ?
But why did he travel the would to do different kinds of art. Piet mondrian is so so confusing well kind of.
Yo piet you wanna come out here
If I had the money I would buy a Mondrian.
If I can create his style in powepoint, it’s not Art
my art teacher made me watch this.
This is in my art class-

All good art--is inherently abstract shapes, composition and color interactions. He had that from early on. He did not develop from a figurative (code for inferior and old fashioned), painter--to an abstract (code for superior, leading edge painter). He was always fantastic, except for some student work. His earlier abstract work had all the superior qualities of his previous work. Then, for some reason, perhaps in an attempt to be original and intellectual--he lost the great emotional and spiritual power that he'd always had, and became cold.
That's what I see. I feel no passion in his more famous and iconic works.
That reminds me of the hair gel design from the 80's called studio
Love is a house force MD’s brought me here
Thank you - I wondered how his style came to be.
Excelente...! Cuando vas a dar tu impresion sobre OMAR RAYO...? Abstracto impresionista?
I hate corona and lockdown it’s the worst😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

mondrian type's division is very interesting
Mondrian fue un pintor holandés; conocido por su patrón de colores. Es curioso que dicho patrón sigue estando de moda hoy en día.

What is that new plastic idea. Idea of what, and in which way is it plastic? it finds an expression of what, or what does it express? When I look at those squares, what should i see or feel? Or should I meditate maybe? I am completely ignorant and find no help.
I think it helps to realize that so called naturalistic art is abstract in as much as it cleverly reduces 3D to 2. Paintings are flat, life is 3D so already some illusion is going on.
Ok
awesome video
Да,вот это" гениальная ' картина не была разгадать экспертами,провисела 75 лет кверху ногами🤣🤣🤣🤣это ГЕНИАЛЬНО🤗
ok
2 years ago I think.
Abstract art is always better.

@@EzioIlMentorelol for weebs. Nothing great about it
I love all of Mondrian's work--up until the works he became famous for. Most of his work connects very powerfully with my very soul. But for some reason, he went down a cold clinical, intellectual rabbit hole where I am unable to follow.
I loved his abstract works up until it became too theoretical--too unfelt. Personally, I think he lost touch with everything that made him great--his emotional and spiritual power!
thanks
✅
Yes. I think so?
yes I am so sow about it.
painting squares is not an abstract painting.
I need some milk
Wow ok, but this is nothing about Piet mondrian milk is,
