FOR EVERYBODY ASKING WHY THEY DIDNT FIGHT THE FIRE: IT WAS BECAUSE THERE WERE NO FIRE HYDRANTS ON THAT STREET, NO MATTER HOW MANY TANKER TRUCKS THEY HAD ON SCENE, THEY WOULDNT BE ABLE TO KILL THE FIRE. ALL THEY COULD DO WAS LET BURN.
what I don't understand is that why didn't the owners of that multi million dollar historic mansion not pay to have hydrants put on their property to have some level of protection for their investment? This is just sad for anyone who appreciates old homes- lost history now left to photos & videos :'(
No hydrants in the area. They had to drain a cistern & then have multiple tankers bring water in from surrounding areas. Property was apparently vacant by the owners for 6 or 7 yrs in a property dispute. Neighbors stated there was an issue with vandals & squatters.
At least no one was hurt or killed. A fire just like this in our area killed 3 people. At least with this fire no one got hurt and fortunately no lives were lost.
Very sad to watch this beautiful old home burn. It doesn't make sense why the homeowner didn't have water hydrants put near his property. It would have made his homeowner insurance cheaper.
Hope no one was hurt. Kudos to the firemen. I'm the first to admit that I don't know about these things, but couldn't a Fire Department helicopter have been used to dump water or foam retardant on the building?
It would be nice to know why the fire department did almost nothing for the first hour, When the building may well have been saved.

Seems like a pretty piss poor attempt at fire fighting!
I live in Concord, this a happened near where I live. They couldn't fight that big of a fire because there were no fire hydrants on that street
When wood wants to burn...it does.

Who did the property belong to? Follow the money.....
@M Detlef thank you for replying back and letting me know about the beautiful mansion. Hope you have a wonderful new year God bless you and family
I see others also notice that the building was let to totally burn to the ground. Apparently not an attempt to save any portions. Insurance reasons?

Why weren’t they putting the water on the fire at the beginning? On the roof at the top right? They just let it burn! What a shame! 😡
No fire hydrants

Didn't Anthony Hopkins make a movie near the pool outside this place?
Reminds me of 'Gone with the Wind'.

There's not enough oxygen for the fire to grow...they need to 'ventilate' the roof.
Practice burn?
Probably see a much nicer and newer structure replace this one shortly. It's only wood.
Somebody was sleeping in the servants quarters for awhile!
our little earthly goods will all one day go up in smoke.
What greed giveth, God takes away in just a couple hours!
Whistleblower now says Donald Trump was responsible for this fire.
Terrible right after Christmas!
Oh bugger
to late nice work
