Bonjour. Pour ma part, je l'ai découverte il y a quelques années, un peu par hasard, en cherchant la discographie d'un autre musicien dans Progarchives et je me suis empressé d'acheter ses 4 premiers opus. Celui-ci est plus hermétique et sa voix si émouvante manque. Mais plus on l'écoute plus on est pris. Par curiosité, pouvez-vous me dire à quoi vous faites allusion quand vous évoquez ce qui semble être une campagne de diabolisation ? Merci. Cordialement.
@@FREDERICGIRAUDET Fin 2021, Anna von Hausswolff devait faire une tournée en France. Comme il s'agissait de concerts d'orgues, ça se passait essentiellement dans des églises. Or, certains cathos intégristes se sont fortement mobilisés pour l'empêcher de faire ces concerts, ceux de Nantes et Paris si je me souviens bien. Pourquoi ? Parce qu'ils la considéraient comme sataniste. L'une de ses chansons de début de carrière parle de "faire l'amour avec le diable", une métaphore de l'addiction à la drogue. Cela leur a suffi pour la prendre pour une sataniste, et ils se sont sentis obligés de partir en croisade contre elle... Et ils ont malheureusement réussi à empêcher ces deux concerts. Le bon côté des choses, c'est que l'affaire a fait un peu de bruit, ce qui a permis à pas mal de monde de découvrir cette incroyable artiste !

Yep, indeed! The whole album is dedicated to this “Monster’s parc”, built from an idea of Prince Pier Francesco Orsini, after his wife (Giulia Farnese)’s death.
When I was just a toddler, the College nearby had a showing of the Original Phantom of the opera. It was subtitled and they had the large pipe organ play accompaniment. I remember the flick flick flicker of the lights and the way the heavy red velvet curtain felt by the stage. I could feel the rumble of the organ, it breathed alive and real. It was quite frightening, but fascinated me so.

Fantastic, 'Persefone' stands out for me, and 'All Thoughts Fly' feels almost like a tribute to Philip Glass (and more specifically the 'Koyaanisqatsi' OST)

to prevent you from playing in a church, because your music is "profane", in 2021, in France, it's a shame... Might you come to the Hellfest one day and be cheered by those who really love music 🤘

An album I'm glad to not have missed
Im 20 sec in and this is enough for me to decide if I will like a song or not. It sounds interesting so far. I like the atmosphere and exprimental organ.

Grande artista VERA geniale NON commerciale !!!!! La sua musica andava bene anche in quegli anni straordinari di Grandissima musica dove si univa musica e poesia si sperimentava si azzardavano idee fuori dal comune .insomma il cosiddetto Progressive rock o Avantgarde rock o Art rock !!!!! La musica della ANNA,Ha lo stesso spirito di ricerca di sperimentazione di unire musica e poesia ,di azzardare idee fuori dal consueto !!!!!! Alors je tiens a dire que ce soir je devais ecouter une de ses oeuvres dans une eglise et qu'elle a été bloquée par des cul bénis extremistes. Je suis remontée.
J'ai hésité à prendre un ticket pour Nantes, mais en voyant les actu le lendemain de la date prévue j'ai bien fait, tout était annulé. C'est si triste, je suis sur qu'il auraient été émus par sa musique ces religieux. Dommage qu'ils s'arrêtent a si peu de choses.

Just don't understand why no vocals, compared with previous albums the best bit is missing.

I think that's what's known as 2020 occlusion.
Is it the record company's decision to have a commercial in the middle of songs? Ruins the mood completely... But on another matter: Throughout the whole album there is a lack of something, and that something is miss Hausswolffs beautiful and gripping vocals. This could have been a record that really touched my heart, going to the depth of me, but instead it just brushes my outsides, without the power to penetrate anything, not my heart nor my mind. Too bad...

It's a shame to me that Outside the gate is such a short track yet the thirteen minute title track is probably the least interesting soundscape here. Outside the gate is such a jam I wish that was the longest song and All thoughts fly could have been chopped down to maybe eight minutes.
