  • Wooden foods for child’s grocery play shop
    We used:
5 x 5cm wooden balls cut in half for the bread rolls
2 x Piece of soft wood 5 cm x 100cm for the cheese and chocolate
    1 x 100cm soft wood pole, diameter 2 cm
    1 x 100cm Long 3cm x 3cm soft wood
    Standing drill
    8mm drill bit
    Acrylic paints from Reeves
    Paintbrush
    Sanding paper grit 80
    Round file
    Japanese hand saw
    Pencil
    Ruler/yardstick
Alphabet stamps and a cow stamp
Using a pencil mark a cross on the bread rolls. With the Japanese saw, saw around 2mm deep along the markings. Using the round file, file the slits to make a cross on top of the bread roll.
Using one of the soft wood cut 10 pieces of cheese each 10cm long, and following do the same for the chocolate.
Drill lots of holes in the cheese wedges to look like Emmentaler.
Make the chocolate, saw and file as in the video.
Sand and paint the cheese, chocolate and bread rolls.
Using the pole cut 30 x 3.5 cm pieces of wood for the liquorice allsorts.
Sand and paint as shown in the video.
For the Milk, saw the 3cm x 3cm 100cm wood into 8cm long pieces as seen in the video. Sand, paint and stamp as seen in the video.
