Flex you see @7:40 is because the wheel mount is not tightened up properly to the slide mounts. My trx doens't have that flex at all. (Just the side arms move up and down a little but thats not noticable during driving) I did replaced the provided bolts with better stainless steel hex head to be able to use a spanner instead of an allen key.
@@aaronchantler2150 The excessive flex you see in the videos in the wheeldeck is due to not properly thightening up de knobs and bolts. (In the Karl Gossling review this is very obvious) The flex in the frame itself is there but it isn't noticable when driving in the sim. Nobody is pulling steering wheels up and down with both hands unless it's deliberatly looking for flex. The wheeldeck plate has many slots to provide for many mounting options and that weakens the plate. Mounting a pedal set with a sturdy wheel plate reduces that flex a lot. The movement of the pedalset you see on the video @8:48 is likely because it isn't attached properly at the front. There is however noticable movement in the gearshifter/handbrake option that comes with the rig. The weak spot is the angle adjustment of the shifter mount but that part can be ommitted by mounting a piece of 40x80 or 40x120 profile and mount the shifter and handbrake directly on that. Now I think of that that play can be solved by using countersunk bolts instead of the provided allen bolts.

Amazing how authentic the experience is with this product having been designed by F1 engineers. It looks like you are almost laying down horizontally at 8:26. Is that how some of the real race cars sit? The TRX is certainly versatile and will handle almost anything you throw at it in modern gear.
It looks really nice, i honestly love it. Tube rigs are not for me. Id rather spend 5-10 mins changing positions. Its rare I'd drive GT and formula in same session.
I'm a sofa racer with a cheap foldable wheel stand and a G29 with brake mod. It's not brilliant, but it's better than a controller at least. No spare room to dedicate to gaming, so even if I had a big budget, I'm stuck with a foldable rig for now.
Same here. Stand with t300 on the sofa speedway 😁. Buddy is practically trying to pay me to take his complete rig, triple 27s and all, I've got nowhere it could go without taking away from either our kids or my wife. Still fun and enjoyable, would never pack it in, we should start the SOFA team 😁
Yes if you want a gt aluminum rig there are many. I drive gt and F1 so I got the nlr fgt elite Ferrari edition on Black Friday and now that I’m used to adjusting it, it literally takes me like 5 min and is super solid.
Looks amazing, wonder how it would fair against dirt/wrc with that flex? I think the TR160 amounts to roughly the same if I'm reading the costs right, although doesn't look as sleek as this!!
Hello could you please explain what steps you used to get the display onto the bracket for the stand ? I have the same display and the pre existing screws in the display are too short. Thanks in advance ! Ton of videos on the rig setup but not one for options on mounting displays.

@@G.Velazquez it's pretty good. There are some annoyances not with the TRX unit itself or it's incredible adjustability or ease of relocation with the wheel option. @@G.Velazquez none noticeable. I have inverted v3 fanatec peddles with podium DD2 and GT extreme hubs and a few QR2 wheels. The TRX itself is solid. I moved my 4 monitor stand away and just mounted a 49" 32:9 directly above wheel base, it's fantastic. @TreborsTactics I bought one and after a few long sessions, I agree with your statement. I don't hate it though. I don't do endurance races, I only tend to play 10-30 mins per race. The only thing that's missing is a lumbar support. I'll probably be okay after that.
I don’t understand companies who think if they make their gt seat laying backward, it’s like an f1 seat. It’s not… if you ever seen a real f1 seat, you will notice that the top part of the back is vertical so it supports your back and you are not playing like a 19yo in his 2000’ tuninged audi

To me this thing looks like a disaster! IMO the first priority of a premium rig is rigidity. I think TRs profile rigs are stellar and hope to get one in the near future. Horses for courses I guess.
what a load of BS that its designed by f1 engineers lol .... Just because it has a Alpine sticker on it doenst make it what the title says. Especially with that flex LOL.... Thats why trackracer disabled the comments on the original video.
I have the same setup but in blue. For the price, this thing feels like trash. At a distance it looks fantastic just don't look at it closely or touch it. The whole thing is covered in paint overspray and even the threads were painted and needed to be chased with a tap. They even left the round stickers (presumably designating the part number) on the tubes and painted over them. The Alpine graphics on the seat were poorly applied with wrinkles everywhere and they were also torn in shipping. Along with numerous scratches on other parts due to poor packaging. Enough about the cosmetics and poor QC. Let's talk about how well it works. This rig feels flimsy. Whether climbing into the rig, steering or pressing the pedals, everything moves when pressure is applied. Trying to get it to work properly with a Logitech G Pro wheel was a challenge. The original universal mount didn't work at all. I had to purchase version 2 and cobble it together. The brackets don't provide the correct range of motion to fit me for a GT position. Either the steering wheel is at the right height and the brackets protrude so low that they hit your knees or flip the brackets over to save your knees but now the top of the wheel is at the height of my nose. There is not a configuration that fits in the middle. I can't tell you how many times I've disassembled and reassembled the rig in different configurations to try to find something that works. I have a hard time believing that the Alpine F1 team had any input into designing this. I'd be truly embarrassed to put my name on it. This is just a prime example of marketing BS. Climb into any home built race prepped street car like a NA Spec Miata, which is a total limp noodle, and it feels like Fort Knox in comparison to this Harbor Freight knock off. Also the ergonomics are spot on where as this rig always feels compromised. Just as a point of reference, a roll cage, seat and brackets for a real car cost about the same as this rig. This product was overhyped and seriously under delivers. Wish I could get my money back.
