Elise, you could move pencils to roll ups for out and about and cups or pots for in studio work and free up a multi layer (to accommodate the cork and tailor shapes together) metal pencil tin to create the Artgraf out and about tin of your dreams.
I have another “updated” Artgraf review in the pipeline 🥳 and we will be discussing the issue that is storage 😂 🎉 I am waiting on some supplies from a subscriber!
. @lazyredhead can hardly wait to see what you come up with for the next video. I look forward to your videos and can hardly wait until Fridays! I also want to tell you, "So proud of you for starting out your full-time art career! Wishing you all the best for your artjourney"
@@HB-ir5ov thank you so much 😊♥️ well I can hardly wait for some deliveries I have planned 🥳 one came today - hint: think pastels but not the ones your thinking of! 😅🤣🎉
Yes 🙌 to leeks & Artgraf💜🤣💜. What’s a painting w/o a bit o beach rubble 😎 That beach painting is awesome, the colors, the storm, the overall mood! I think the white makes the colors gouashy and lovely, adds another layer of contrast. Jackson’s does have sales on these, so then their price is more reasonable. I agree they are $$$, but the quantity of medium is generous too. You are getting a lot of underpainting mileage out of those. And their size + they are soooo soluble makes them very accessible for larger paintings. Not all media has this kind of ease of use. Fun video 🤗 Oh thank you again for the beachy video footage. So, so many paintings in there. Hope you are well👋👋👋
I thought going out and about was a good way to switch things up so I am glad you like it Temple. I love a leek - I grew a tone last year to make cheesy leeks! They were DELISH! 😂 I have just grabbed some Jackson’s special offers actually - great minds think alike… I should have linked them in description. I will pop it on community tab! I am well Temple thank you. I hope your all good also 🥰😘
I have actually just added an affiliate link! It is in the description box below. I have just figured all that out yesterday 😅 but I will be going over this in Fridays Vlog 😊
Love your videos. My partner just bought me some art graph when we were on vacation in Savannah, Georgia the Savannah school of art and Design has the most wonderful art store. Anyway, I can’t wait to use them. Your video was really informative and always entertaining.😁 Thanks for sharing.
What I would give for that kind of art shop right now 🤣🤣🤣 I would do serious financial damage Debbie 🤣🤣🤣 I love my set! I could not live without them if i'm honest! I did to a second review of them which also has homemade storage on them. Thank you watching and supporting my channel Debbie ❤️
Hey 👋 Temple 🥰 3am! That’s not a time you should see you quite right. On the up side you have coffee and biscuits - one of the best combo’s 🍪 ☕️ (DELISH)
On the Art Graft cork palettes, I used a utility knife (like Xacto knife) and trimmed around the cork palettes, reducing the outer edge by about half. I then cut the wells apart by cutting in the middle between each. This allowed me to arrange them in two shallow tins (re-purposed colored pencil tins). I put a piece of paper towel on top to hold them in place In the tin to protect the chalks. I’m going to attach thin magnets to the bottom of each cork well to hold them in place in the tin. I applied Mod Podge on the cut edges of the cork to seal them. (will probably do a layer of polyurethane on the whole cork tray too) Works wonderfully!
Well I have broken one cork tray with it getting too wet! And the others are on their way out 😅 I have a metal tin that I have been thinking of using - although I worry it would get rusty with the amount water I use 😅
@@lazyredhead Try coating the outer cork with Mod Podge and polyurethane before using the cork palette. Keep a thin microfiber cloth under them, in the tin to absorb drips. This would make a good video how-to - how to prep a cork palette before use - especially with the Art Graf and Viviva palettes becoming so popular of late.
OMG I love this video! I've used the "ArtGraf Tailor Shape pigmented blocks that come in plastic sleeves that cover cork holders"....sheesh, could they have thought of a shorter name? (LOL) I've never used them the way you are doing, and will order white immediately! Thanks so much. Keep posting and don't let your studio bite you!
Terrific review. I've been vacillating on these for so long because of cost but you really showed me how I could use these. (You think I could convince the hubby these qualify as a Valentines gift?) That beach storm coming sky painting is fabulous.
Thank you Laurie - I am defo going to do more reviews as everyone has really found it help as have I. A few other have likened them to gouache (which I obviously didn’t pick up on 😅) I believe ALL art supplies qualify for any type of gift no mat the occasion 😂🤣 well that’s what I have told my husband anyway! When you get them let me know how you get on 🥰
I’m a total beach rock collector too, and so are my kids. We have enough rocks to build a fort😅 These paint/chalks look really cool, almost like gouache. I looked into them but realized that maybe I’ll wait in getting them😮Amazon had a set of 3 for $30- not crazy expensive but then I thought do I need them?!?! Maybe a treat for another day! Glad to know about them, tho!
Hello Debbie - I hope you and your beautiful family are doing well. Yes they are like Gouache - Andrea also mentioned this and I didn’t think of that until now 😅 they are somewhat pricey if you don’t have a use for them. It has taken me a few months to get to grips with them, and only since I have started taking them out have I really started to use them I will be honest and invest in the other packs. Well you know Debbie I am a sucker for a rock and beach found objects. I probably don’t have as many as you what with your kids doing the same 😅 but give me time! And I too will have my fort! And what beautiful forts they would be.
@@lazyredhead Who needs a "tiny house" when you can build a beach rock fort? Totally hear ya, a great art supply for sure, but not "necessary". I can see it coming in super handy for travel (if you can grab a empty water color pan/palette to pack it in...I think you find empty trays on amazon if you don't have any on hand)
🤣🤣🤣 it’s not my mother I’m worried about! It’s my dentist 🤪 he is very passionate about his job! I’m glad you like the demo and the little beach get away. Just remember all those lovely things before next week Christine 😅😇😜
Sometimes channels are inspiring because of how bad the art is, yet they have a studio. It makes you believe in yourself more, sometimes personal standards get too high to our own detriment haha. It reminds me of some first year works from peers back at art college, those who didn't want to be in paint classes but rather something else like sculpture haha but they still had to take the basic ones by force 😂 Anyway! the views were great, the paintings, not so much
Love your honesty Crazy mai - I do know what you mean regarding the art school peers. I more saw this in college - when you get to university you can specialise and funny enough I chose sculpture 🤣😅 I will say I can “paint” in the traditional scene but want to be more loose. It’s harder than I thought it would be 😅 anyways thank you for your comment. Brought back some funny memories of art college 😊
My thought, too! I love gouache, but when they dry in the pallet, it's so hard to get them to work like fresh paint! These wet so nicely, and lay down so opaquely and matte! LOVE that. But, erm, $$$$$! Oh well!
@@XanBlackburn Yes the price is what I call an investment! I suppose I use them SOOO much now that it is an essential for me. However if Artgraf made empty pallets for them I would have just curated my own pallet and probably not got all three sets if I'm honest ☺
Why are you worrying about making your EDC/go bag lightweight when it looks like you have your own man mountain who looks like he could not only carry your "kit" for you but you as well.🤔🤔🤔🤫🤫😅😅
I just LOVE the way you see and render color, so inspiring! 😍😍😍
Thank you Elizabeth - I gad I was able to spark some inspo for you today 🥰
