The female snipers on the Russian side of WWII were historically deadly. I think this figure looks great - haven’t taken it out of the package yet, but I can see my rifle is just as warped. Would love to see some Adventure Team stuff!
Great review, glad I'm not the only one who had issues with the ghillie suit. I trimmed the inside seam which helped a bit but by no means made it 'good.'
My ghille fixes: make cuts down the front and sides it can sit more freely and the arms dont get in the way. turn the hood inside out, or make small horizontal cuts around the collar area to prevent it from pushing up on itself too much. the seam you mentioned always makes the hood a little goofy, but with the right cuts you get more maneuverability, less bunching up, and a more natural look. The texture of it is decent (better than the other examples).
I think overall it's a good figure, but it could have been great. The arms don't really go down as far on her side as they should. The lack of a holster for her knife or sidearm silencer really bothers me too. One of my favorite things about Joe's is being able to stash everything on them and she falls short in that regard. Love the aesthetic though, very photogenic.
oh i got this in the mail yesterday. it's the first time i got a figure before you. yeah i enjoy female characters so as long as they aren't poorly done (just like the male ones). It's hard to mess up a generic trooper. honestly i enjoy the head sculpts so much this may be a rare timei pick up 2. the ghili suits look like someone is trying to do a swamp thing figure.
The best fix for the Action Marine ghillie suit is to just put googly eyes on it and turn it into a muppet. Lol! The figure is awesome though! I have an idea for a 1/12 scale ghillie suit, but it's going to take some work. I think that's the problem with this scale... anything that looks good will take too much handcrafting. It's just not something that can be cranked out fast in a factory. Out of the three, the Valaverse one is the best. I can make my Valaverse Swiffer ghillie look okay, but I airbrushed it camo, and it takes some finesse every time I put it on a figure.
Also the OG GI JOE vehicles which looked like death traps. Open canopy driver sat right out there to be shot at. Guys hanging onto the sides and behind missile launchers 😂
I bought it and received it today ....i think the face sculpt looks great very beautiful looking females and I hope we get more female figures I think that if they look bad ass that all that matters. I hope this set goes on sale during cyber Sunday or Black Friday because I want another set to be able to display the two ladies
I had been told that the teal uniforms of Marines are or were actually a thing. At least in the mid to late 20th century. Having one meant that the Marine had served aboard ship for long enough to cycle his uniform through the laundry several times. As they teal color was a bleaching that at least used to happen to Marine BDU's due to the Navy using salt water to do laundry. Something about the dye they used to use.
I know the Army UCP allegedly had a shelf life of 6 months and would "pick up" the colors of the environment they were in over time (ie: red clay would give them an orange tint)
I haven't picked this one up yet, but plan to soon. I can't speak to the accuracy of the figure with respect to the military, but the loadout is decent. I just wish they had gone with a different sniper rifle. I'm a huge Low Light fan, and I gave Gnawgahyde's rifle to Shooter. Reuse keeps costs down.; I get it. Thanks for the great review brother!
She's pretty much a stand-in for the "fourteenth" Joe, Shooter, that was retconned into the Marvel Comics continuity at some point. Cool figure despite the flaws in any case. Too bad these Action troops are so expensive, I get a lot of kitbashing ideas looking at them.
I’m just glad someone is making these toys. This is something that is not enough for me to care about when it comes to right on the money. I do wish there was military accurate figures but I would never think Hasbro would even dare to give me that. My expectations do not setup me up for failure. Keep’em low and you won’t be disappointed. Can’t wait for that kickstarter to come out with the military like figures. 🫡🤙🏽
I ended up ordering the 2 60th anniversary but canceled them from pulse. The figure looks really good! 👍🏼 but the Bush suit 🤦🏽♂️ they maybe should if used a bend wire? I'll probably pick her up if it goes on discount somewhere. Review 👏🏼 👏🏼 👍🏼👍🏼
You said exactly what I was thinking about her maybe being a main character all on her own. I don’t know if we have any female marine characters in GI Joe already but when she was announced I thought it’d be cool to pretend she’s a newcomer. Now I gotta think of a code name 😊.
Granddad served in the Army and stormed Normandy. Dad is a USMC Naval Academy career fighter pilot. Younger brother is in the Corps but missed the sandbox. I served and did my time in the 2000s. I think this figure is cool as hell. I would have liked to see a proper Marine with cover (female would be great, either or), but aside from the name of this figure, I think it's great. BDU balances with the Joe aesthetic. Ghillie suit sucks, but as stated here, they all do. I think that's just the scale of materials. Don't mind the extra weapons, I'm going to swap them out with proper rifles anyway. I don't find this figure as egregious as the double barrel that came with the Army infantry. The customization for the portraits is awesome, and I wish the HALO jumper had the options. Picked up this and the Jumper today off the shelf, and quite enjoy them as action figures. Hopefully there's enough interest in this subline to give every branch another go with other roles. Semper Fi. And now that I think of it, a female Russian sniper would be a great homage to Lady Death. Maybe a new Oktober Guard member.
@DesperadoDingo yeah proper call backs to the originals definitely would have been preferred but these are still fun for what they are (minus the gear on this one)
I like this and mine arrived today also I have another one the way because of the difference looks🎉 Only complaint is that it is nowhere to put the knife and I won't use the g-suit. Nice review 🎉🎉🎉
Great review, nice figures. Mine will arrive today. So have you tried to head swap the buck to a lady Jaye or other main character female? I’d bought extras to use for other females to give them a more uniformed look -at times but I see they went full neck and pin swap on this figure but they didn’t do this for the action soldier by having the neck covered to get around skin color difference between the two head sculpts. That’s the only thing I wish they’d have mirrored from the action soldier for this one to offer more options for female Joes Thanks for the review
These 60th Anniversary aren't ones that I would pre-order, I'll preorder standard figures. Though it's mainly the figures I didn't have as a kid. I did preorder Starduster since it was a mailaway figure I didn't have. I picked up the Action Solider sonce he went on sale on Prime Day for $26 or $27. He'd fit in with Dusty. I also got Airborne and Buzzer too. I'll wait until the Sailor, Pilot and Marine are reduced in price before getting one each of them.
Imma get a few of these but im also gonna get a few spare HALO jumpers to round out the original trio from an original release perspective. Have a modified Halo with a different vest and weapon keep the helmet and covered goggles and youll have a male marine which will make a good spotter for my female marine. If that makes sense at all
Opening was great 🤣 I picked up two but want maybe two or more. Uniform and weapon wise, I wish they'd get closer to each branch's modern look for these action troops. The innacuracies bother me in certain ways, BUT in my head, they can be whatever I decide. I want to see more females. Female Eels, green shirts, troopers, snow characters, desert characters, specialty roles, etc etc. No matter what, let's just get well executed characters and figures please.
Great review! This fig kind of reminds me of the Colonial Marine Martinez in Aliens. All she needs is that loadout that Gridiron. Overall it’s a bad ass figure & can be army built into a squad of femme fatales. I just bought one and will be buying a few more to add to “my ranks”.
the teal uniform of Gung Ho is not that far fetched, had you served for more then 3 years in a grunt detachment, your fatigues actually fade to a bleached color that resembles that color, especially if your in the field a lot.
I didn’t know they were coming out with this figure. The boonie hat looks very cool, I wish they would just make one that fits on a regular head, the strap on it is a nice touch. Too bad about the sniper rifle. It looks decent other than the warping. The green on the weapons and gear bags doesn’t look good to me from here, maybe in hand it looks better. Another Great review though Mr Bee, appreciate your thoroughness and honest opinion.
Who's rumored as part of the 2025 Legacy collection? I've heard rumors of a fireman (that the backpack we've all seen would go with) but beyond that I'd not even heard the word Legacy until you mentioned it
I know how this is going to sound but lol They did a bait and switch I would have wanted the face camo on the other head for a female snake look :P Or if they had made the bandana part swappable I guess would work aswell? Renders they showed off the figure showed it and the back of the box it seems. Still pick it up though.
I was a tad disappointed it wasn't a male Marine, but it wasn't the reason I didn't get the figure. I just thought it overall looked kinda meh. I found the Navy and Army Troopers to also be kinda meh. It's mostly the kit they come with. The Diver had some fun stuff but I just didn't want another wetsuit diver. I was kinda tempted but mostly to use as custom fodder for an OG MW2 Gulag mission Soap, or a classic visor bodysuit Snake Eyes, which I am surprised Hasbro hasn't made yet. I will say the Halo Jumper looks amazing, I just wish Hasbro figured out that they did the NODs correctly with Wolf Spider and they need to implement that into every helmet with night vision that they do. Hell even Vala figured it out, though I doubt he'd ever give Hasbro credit they deserve for that as well as figuring out how to do bipods correctly, even if they don't use it for every weapon with one.
Whatup Bee! I'm looking forward to getting my sniper, but you know what we need now (or rather what SHE needs)? A spotter. In the interim, I guess we can use "Grunt". Or we could, of course get 2 and 1 can rock the boonie cover as the spotter.
I'm gonna give that Lowlight gear to my Marauders Lowlight and that Scarlett head with the cap to my cover girl and keep the latina force recon marine with snake eyes gear and put that awful ghilly suit in the bin. Overall a useful set for many uses.
Another banger review B! Can't wait to get mine! And as forcyour opening i WAS one of those crusty old guys who wasn't gonna buy a female Marine sniper until i seen it and was like "damn, that actually looks pretty good" then i converted lol
Nice! I thought the figure was going to be shooter from the neck down but it’s not. My sniper, halo jumper and retro CC Thursday. (sorry I refuse to call him “coco” 🙄I duno who started that but it needs to stop 😤 )
I got it because its a female i have every female character except quarrel. Ill be sure to get every girl character that comes out their my favorite especially jinx and helix
, they are not supposed to be exact 1960s era military replicas, they are modern era military figures with just references to the original 12 inch joes (mostly just in there naming and bland military appearance ) all there and weapons and gear are modern day stuff ……..people complain are just dumb and ridiculous and don’t understand what they are talking about
I like these anniversary figs. But am a little disappointed by them. Given that they know most of the market for these are we "kidults", they couldn't give us a couple of throwbacks to the olden times? A three pack of a 6" clean shaven scar faced Joe from the late 60's, a Bearded Joe in a Khaki Adventure Team uniform and a Mike Power Atomic Man. Ideally with some more period gear.
Nice looking figure. Two in one really. My only issue with the Lady Jaye legs is that the lower leg is out of propotion with the upper leg. The lower is too long. Knee to hip and knee to foot should be equal length. As for it being a female figure. Who cares? It's based off a comic book. She'd look good facing off against a Predator.
The ghillie suit looks like a kid’s homemade Christmas tree costume for the school pageant. I wish the baseball cap/boonie could swap between both heads. I saw somebody swapped the head on a Lady Jaye body. After watching APWT’s review I’m probably going to pick up another so I can have one sniper and one spotter. I can’t wait for the Halo jumper and eventually Hit & Run.
Skipped it since not a fan of the majority of it. Definitely haven't liked any of the ghillie suits and just can't get into the green camo for some reason. Skipped that Stalker and Blowback for the same reason. I am coming to realize I more prefer the urban and night ops style over the camo versions.
@@beesbattlegrounds Yeah, but I am also ok with the black and green Stalker and the other Blowback. I think I am just not a fan of the lighter greens or yellows so run into the same issue with Tiger Force. I think I just prefer the modern look.
Looking at modern sniper documentaries on how they assembled their ghillie suits as they are mostly kitbashed by the snipers. They mostly followed the pattern of putting all of the vegetation along the back of their bodies and rarely do they put anything over their vests. So with that in mind I think the AF ghillie suit is the most accurate of the three.
pretty sure there were 2 women training to be Army Rangers when i was on deployment back in 2015. I think they made it through. meanwhile dudes complaining and they probably couldn't make it through regular bootcamp
@@beesbattlegrounds yeah my ship was keeping tabs on it. Pretty cool honestly. But hey great review, gonna grab 2 and they’ll be Shooter’s trainees in my head canon lol
She’s cool I just personally don’t collect female figures unless they come with something I really want. So I’ll pass on her but bout time there’s a ghillie suit for joes
Hey, do you have a P.O. Box? I wanna send you a real ghillie suit that I made for the figures. I am gonna send samples and whatnot out to some others as well and then buddies of mine.
if I see her on sale I might, or I might pick her up loose as I dont care about anything she comes with other than the body/heads. Weapons and packs and ghillie would all just go into the "Box of Never Use". But Im mooooostly just a named figure collector for Classifieds, especially on the Joes team, so random troop building doesn't mean much for me. But a woman in fatigues/camo is apparently a crazy concept now that I think about it so it could be nice to have.
I don't think anyone is arguing that GI Joe needs to be realistic. The issue with the female sniper is that it's a 60th anniversary figure. It's a figure that's an ode to an older figure--which was male. And since we're talking 60 years ago, women just weren't in combat roles. But, I get why they did it--there just aren't that many women in GI Joe, so they figured they'd throw one in this line.
I know i know.... i just dont want or relate to female characters. Especially when it comes to semi "real life" counter parts or homages. And yes... me and my grandpappy enlisted.... lol
@@beesbattlegrounds USN Corpsman. FMF so I am always looking for some Marine Corp representation. I was really happy to get Doc and I troop build him to make a med battalion. Lol. Just take Retro Recondo parts and whatever spare heads you got laying around
They made it like this to reused gear, figure…no other reason than the fact they want to make money without expending money, just like they did with the sailor or the pilot .
I did serve in the Marines, my grandpappy was Army. As a Marine I did NOT buy this. Nothing about this says Marine other than the rifle. Marines do not use the other weapons. It doesn't come with a Marine Utility cover and the boonie it does, is used by other branches so nothing about it makes you look at this an say that is a Marine. The uniform and shin guards are awful. The camo comes close to old school camo but needs more brown and is not modern. The poncho is a joke and is definitely not a ghillie suit. If they used cloth pull-up pants and shirt/jacket they could have gotten closer to a real one. Last but not least, yes there are no female Marine Snipers. One did finish the leadership school but not the actual Sniper School which was more rigorous and she is not serving in that duty. (I could go into Admin taking up school seats they will never do the job for but I won't) This should not have been the 60th anniversary figure for Marines, it would have been fine for something else. BTW about half my figures are female and I do have the already in the line female Sniper Jodie Shooter Craig, but this figure as a Marine rubs me wrong. As far as Gung Ho goes I always prefered Leatherneck and I always thought of Gung Ho as a Vietnam Vet serving as a Joe and was no longer Active Marines (I got the darker green gave him the Valaverse upgrades and replaced the Tattoo for an EGA decal). Also the Joe Team is like SOCOM where the uniform regs are more relaxed. I also thought the Anniversary Action figures were supposed to be actual military personal and not part of the Joe Team
I get it, but I'm sure they'll just chalk it up to copyright issues and all that. If you look at any of them (with the exception of the diver, maybe) they are far from exact representations of the actual OG versions
Do collectors really want this many female soldier figures? I understand named characters like Scarlett or Jinx, but for a nameless Marine Sniper, wouldn't you rather have a male? Google search shows there's only one woman who ever qualified for the position, and that was last year. I understand GI Joe is "fantasy" but these 60th figures are supposed to be based on real life.
I look at this character being an homage to Lady Jaye from GI Joe Retaliation. She was a Marine Officer that was a Marksman.
Im going to add more red to her pony tail and she can be another version of Scarlett! Def getting two of these! Thanks for the review!
The female snipers on the Russian side of WWII were historically deadly. I think this figure looks great - haven’t taken it out of the package yet, but I can see my rifle is just as warped. Would love to see some Adventure Team stuff!

@beesbattlegrounds maybe, but it would line up with the toys they are celebrating 60 years of
@outlawartshow very true, but there is always that one person who will make claims etc...
Nice! I thought the figure was going to be shooter from the neck down but it’s not. My sniper, halo jumper and retro CC Thursday. (sorry I refuse to call him “coco” 🙄I duno who started that but it needs to stop 😤 )
First 30s of this video got this subscribe and like
It’s a toss up now between the sniper and the infantry figure as my favorite from classified. Just wish she came with a knife sheath
@@Hammer2-11Bravo meh, she's doesn't need it! Haha
I got it because its a female i have every female character except quarrel. Ill be sure to get every girl character that comes out their my favorite especially jinx and helix
@@mikemadsen7926 Helix is a fun character and figure
Semper Fi marine
i just got the halo jumper and her today. its a bummer there is nowhere for her to store the silencer or knife on her
, they are not supposed to be exact 1960s era military replicas, they are modern era military figures with just references to the original 12 inch joes (mostly just in there naming and bland military appearance ) all there and weapons and gear are modern day stuff ……..people complain are just dumb and ridiculous and don’t understand what they are talking about
Pretty cool, debating if I should just get a retro lady jay and just swap out the Spare parts with the body
I think the classified ghillie suit would look the best if it just fit better. None of them quite hit the mark unfortunately
I feel like the suit would be fine with a few snips.
I like her. I'm gonna' need at least two. The head configurations sell it for me. They'll be my Joe counter to the Cobra Valkyries hah
I think we'll see some Adventure team sooner than later
Nice looking figure. Two in one really.
My only issue with the Lady Jaye legs is that the lower leg is out of propotion with the upper leg. The lower is too long. Knee to hip and knee to foot should be equal length.
As for it being a female figure. Who cares? It's based off a comic book. She'd look good facing off against a Predator.
Followed. Simply because of your take on the Gung Ho bit. 😂 Great review! You talk about toys like a toy fan instead of a toy salesman.
@@Brutus0357 do you prefer like the grey camo pattern, like the Urban Trooper from AF?
@@beesbattlegrounds Yeah, but I am also ok with the black and green Stalker and the other Blowback. I think I am just not a fan of the lighter greens or yellows so run into the same issue with Tiger Force. I think I just prefer the modern look.
Great review. Seems like the JOE ghillie suit is the best of the three but the head piece is goofy. I may cut mine off. It certainly can’t hurt it.
@@SaturdayMorningToyCollector that's not a bad idea!
What about using Blue Tak in the hood?
Looking at modern sniper documentaries on how they assembled their ghillie suits as they are mostly kitbashed by the snipers. They mostly followed the pattern of putting all of the vegetation along the back of their bodies and rarely do they put anything over their vests. So with that in mind I think the AF ghillie suit is the most accurate of the three.
pretty sure there were 2 women training to be Army Rangers when i was on deployment back in 2015. I think they made it through. meanwhile dudes complaining and they probably couldn't make it through regular bootcamp
@@MontanaJ21 I am pretty sure both of those females made it through and completed the training
@@beesbattlegrounds yeah my ship was keeping tabs on it. Pretty cool honestly. But hey great review, gonna grab 2 and they’ll be Shooter’s trainees in my head canon lol
My gripe is I can't troop build with this. It would just be a one off.
You could do two or so. They could definitely work as background characters too
She’s cool I just personally don’t collect female figures unless they come with something I really want.
And yes... me and my grandpappy enlisted.... lol
@billysm00th I get it but some dudes just blow it way out of proportion, unfortunately. What branch?
@@beesbattlegrounds USN Corpsman. FMF so I am always looking for some Marine Corp representation. I was really happy to get Doc and I troop build him to make a med battalion. Lol. Just take Retro Recondo parts and whatever spare heads you got laying around
Get em Bobby b lol i love it when folks complain about good old g i joe ,when its simple dont buy,and brother its a toy ...lol
They made it like this to reused gear, figure…no other reason than the fact they want to make money without expending money, just like they did with the sailor or the pilot .
I like this but I’m not getting this one. I need that Halo figure. Looks good. Never like gung ho
Just go to Michael’s and buy some material to make your own suit
@@robzamora79 I just might have to try. It's that what you have done?
@@beesbattlegrounds yes sir
That’s why I didn’t buy it.
Jesus you guys would complain during a bj.
Everything you said is something I agree with. Thanks for signing that line and volunteering to serve!
I make ghillie suits and i wanted to buy this to see how and why they made it the way they did it and mine are way better. Mine are real deal.
And I'm guessing that they reduced the physical requirements for the position, as that's something they've been doing lately (since 2022).
