Graphite rod with a consistent bend throughout. Most Chatterbaits have a pretty heavy jig hook in them so I feel like you need enough bend for the fish to get it, but you need the power to punch that thick diameter hook through! Just my 2 cents though!

I love glass for chatterbaits, crankbaits, and some jig application. For ripping spinnerbaits thru the weeds I prefer something faster with a lot of backbone. I have a 7'10" glass rod built on a 4oz Rodgeeks blank that is my favorite for big cranks, topwaters and gliders for downsize musky applications. When the temps get down in the 30s and 40s the glass will stand up where graphite can break...especially faster action graphite.

I love my DOBYNS 735CB Glass. It is the best bladed jig rod in my opinion for both 3/8 & 1/2 bladed jigs with fluorocarbon.

I don’t care for glass rods for Chatterbaits. Lost too many fish. Now for a crankbait, it’s a different story. Also like 6.3 speed reels!
