These videos always interest me so much! I am fascinated by how modeling differs from that of here in the USA. You are so knowledgeable and it is so fun to hear you give your advice here for free on your channel.
Oh, thank you! It's a Korean brand called "Hotping". I'm not sure if they still have this one for sale, but I'm sure there's something similar. And thank you so much for watching! :)
I really want to become a model in Korea and live there, but I'm having a hard time figuring out how to do so, so far your videos have been a huge help to me so thank you very much! I'm thinking of coming to Korea as a tourist first, and visiting agencies while I'm there and hopefully signing a contract and then proceeding with the documents in my home country and going back to Korea to then pursue being a model, do you think this is a good idea? And I also want to make sure that I'll have enough money to stay there while I'm modeling, so is there a way foreigners can get other part time jobs like a waitress at a cafe or something?
Hello, I’m happy to hear that my videos were helpful for you! :) The very first thing you need to do is check whether you fit into modeling industry standards or not ua-cam.com/video/uYD5QD-iXeY/v-deo.html And if you do, then everything’s pretty much easy. Just take your digitals and apply to the agencies. There’s a playlist where I explain what you need for the agency application, it’s here ua-cam.com/play/PL2n0G6Jp9TLZoy4X7w1Ji46u0pra2zZ9X.html And if you don’t fit, then I’d recommend focusing on either acting or other niches and think of it more as a hobby. And yes, you can come to Korea on a tourist visa first - I always recommend to meet up with the agencies staff before signing a contract, because personality really matters. You can also come to Korea on a student visa , see if you like it there and then switch to modeling visa. There are many many options. And unfortunately you can’t do any part time jobs while working as a model / actress in Korea. You can only do the jobs that your visa status allows you to do. If you’d like to discuss your personal case, I’m available for model coaching sessions online, please feel free to book me tatianakurnosova.com/index.php?page=Coaching Wishing you best of luck 🤍
Hi Tatiana, the knowledge you share is really helpful, thank you for sharing that! :) If you don't mind me asking, I know you said that for guys it doesn't really matter if they have tattoo or not. Is that true even when it comes to visible tattoos on the neck and hand? Also how are tattoos on guys perceived in Korean modeling market? Thank you so much! :)
Hi Petr, you're welcome! I'm glad that my videos were helpful. In general, in modeling the less tattoos you have the better, since it gives the client the opportunity to work with "clear canvas" and tattoos can be limiting. I say that it doesn’t matter that much for guys, because tattoos can be an expression of their personality and viewed as a part of the look (with female models it’s a bit more complicated). However, in some of the Asian countries it will still be a bit problematic. Again, some of the jobs / castings won’t be available to you if you have really visible tattoos and /or their concept is aggressive, doesn’t match with the brand’s vision etc. The society is still very conservative. But the more hip and cool brands will be OK with any tattoos, some will find them even more attractive if it fits their aesthetics. It really depends on your visual appearance in general, so honestly there’s no clear answer here. You will be able to work in Korea even if you have tattoos, whether you will have really successful career or will struggle in some ways, will depend on many factors. Anyways, if you’re interested in modeling in Korea, I always say it’s better to try rather than regret that you haven’t tried at all :)
Thank you for this video! I have a question, do you know if you can come to Korea as a tourist first, and make a visa for work right there? I want to come to Korea and come on open days to different agencies (as a freelance model) and after this - to make a visa. Is it possible?
You're welcome❤️ Unfortunately you can't change the tourist visa status to a working visa in Korea. You can come on a tourist visa and visit the agencies, sign a contract, but you'll have to leave and proceed with the documents in the country of your residence.
Just out of curiosity, so they do a lot of in person castings in Korea? I'm a model and in my home country we are mostly doing e castings or remote castings, a holdover from covid I think and it's so much more convenient.
Korean clients prefer in person castings, even during the pandemic they have tried to see models first. But they have had a very thoughtful schedule, so for example, the castings with models from one modeling agency only, then with the models from another one in an hour etc, so there weren’t too many people in one place at once. There online castings as well, yet not that often and usually model needs to come to a fitting to get confirmed anyways.
I want to do both modelling and creator content, do you have any recommendations? Also I want to do both of them for longer than a year in Korea can I get the e6 for longer than a year or do I have to renew it every year? Please help I’ve looked everywhere 😭
Hello dear, You can do both content creation and modeling on an E-6 visa. It actually doesn’t matter what you do exactly as long as it fits your visa type (you are allowed to do this activity legally), you earn the necessary income to pay the bills and it’s enough for you to make a living out of it. Just do what you feel is more exciting for you and prioritise the things that may bring you more success in the shortest period of time (once you’ll be successful in at least one field, you can easily switch to another and balance things out, become more relaxed about everything etc). Please make sure to watch my newest video about the most recent E-6 visa updates (if you haven’t yet). It is very important to have all of the necessary documents ready + have the experience in the industry these days ua-cam.com/video/NrLqgJuucJ0/v-deo.htmlsi=5wYNjmV4k3jRAUtI No need to worry about the length of stay. E-6 is being issued for 1 year only just because it’s a standard procedure, but it can be extended an endless amount of times (it’s really easy and basically a formality once you already work and stay in Korea) and you can sign a contract with the agency for a longer period than 1 year, yet I don’t recommend you doing this, because it’s better to be safe just in case and being able to switch to another company in case smth happens or you simply will find the better options. Hope now everything is clearer for you. If you need help regarding your personal case, you are welcome to my model coaching sessions / model mentorship program, all the info about it is here tatianakurnosova.com/index.php?page=Coaching I’ll be happy to help you reaching your goals in the shortest period of time 🤍 Anyways, wishing you best of luck!

If not or if you're interested in acting / dancing etc, then I'd recommend you coming to Korea on a different visa first. For example, as a student. See how the life is here and if you'll like it, then build some connections and eventually try to find an agency that will be interested in working with you. Wishing you all the best :)
