I remember once I got this song stuck in my head for days. Couldn't find it anyway. And then suddenly remembered it. Kangaroo died. Such a special song.
Awesome old school Molko..."Always were the waters, deep inside your heart...Always wanted to return, to your body, But I'm not sure I can......" Anyone who can write words like this is a lyrical genius imo...........
Well the doctor keeps me waiting The blood in my brain The pain in my chest Oh Oh Oh Only happens when it's rainin The smoke in my lung The beer in my gut Oh Oh Oh Feelin like a motherfuck The only way is down from here Oh Oh Oh Feelin like a motherfuck The only way is down from here Oh Oh Oh It's a nightmare in the alley The undertaker's there With his bowler hat Oh Oh Oh And his coffin eyes are empty The ex-wife she's there too Grinnin like a Cheshire cat Oh Oh Oh And I'm feelin like a motherfuck The only way is down from here Oh Oh Oh Feelin like a motherfuck The only way is down from here Oh Oh Oh I'm tryin to buy a drink But the barmaid's cross-eyed Why'd they let her work here Hell I just don't know I find it hard to think Since my kangaroo died Why'd she have to leave me Hell I just don't know I don't know Well the priest is at the pulpit Tellin me I'm wrong Tellin me I'm sickening Oh Oh Oh To believe him is to forfeit Everything I am And everything I'll never be Oh Oh So I'm feelin like a motherfuck The only way is down from here Oh Oh Oh Feelin like a motherfuck The only way is down from here Oh Oh Oh
i love this song - why won’t he release these gems- I always felt at the core - that placebo’s magic rested in the unique sound of Brian’s voice and his acoustic Guitar- simple yet heartbreaking-
I think this song is incredibly beautiful. It must be one of the first recordings of Placebo, ever, too. It's sad that this and the old version of "Hang on to Your IQ" aren't included anywere, because they're both really, really good despite their age. (also, I never thought Brian's voice was very feminine like everyone said, but here - I would probably had thought so too if I didn't know he was a guy from the start.)
Well, the priest is at the pulpit tellin' me I'm wrong, tellin' me I'm sickening. To believe him is to forfeit EVERYTHING I AM AND EVERYTHING I'LL NEVER BE.
Mr. Brightside and blonde boy was kangaroo too. David was in tree sleeping. My name is girl with anothers note. did I get bite or merely dreaming. No daddy left just butterfly eyes and crowned awakening that brings the listener thorns. Spoon fed tales and the physician forlorn. I can't see for the tears of the sacrifices I make but least the angels all make it home.
does anyone of you know, what the chords are for this song or where you can find them? its just an amazing song, great lyrics and extremely lovely melody (0= Placebo love to all of you (0;
@TheRealLibertine It doesn't mean anything. Kangaroo Died simply means a Kangaroo dying. Which is probably why they never brought the song back. The chorus doesn't really mean anything.
I find it hard to think since my kangaroo died... *sigh* Can any english speaking person tell my why a lot of love songs refer to a kangaroo (e.g. "Kangaroo cry" Blue October)? Is it a way to call one's lover that has nothing to do with animals , like "the apple of my eye" stands for "my favourite" even though it has nothing to do with fruit??
this is the most beautiful song i've ever heard in my life
+Droyoful Ohh yes, it is...

THIS FUCKING SONG IS SO GODDAMN BEAUTIFUL WHY THE FUCK DID THEY NEVER RELEASE IT WHAT THE FUKC
Hahaha, I heard he wrote this when he was 16 :) Great song:)
Been listening to Placebo for years, only just now hearing this song and I'm so happy to have found this absolute gem.
Well the doctor keeps me waiting
The blood in my brain
The pain in my chest
Oh Oh Oh
Only happens when it's rainin
The smoke in my lung
The beer in my gut
Oh Oh Oh
Feelin like a motherfuck
The only way is down from here
Oh Oh Oh
Feelin like a motherfuck
The only way is down from here
Oh Oh Oh
It's a nightmare in the alley
The undertaker's there
With his bowler hat
Oh Oh Oh
And his coffin eyes are empty
The ex-wife she's there too
Grinnin like a Cheshire cat
Oh Oh Oh
And I'm feelin like a motherfuck
The only way is down from here
Oh Oh Oh
Feelin like a motherfuck
The only way is down from here
Oh Oh Oh
I'm tryin to buy a drink
But the barmaid's cross-eyed
Why'd they let her work here
Hell I just don't know
I find it hard to think
Since my kangaroo died
Why'd she have to leave me
Hell I just don't know
I don't know
Well the priest is at the pulpit
Tellin me I'm wrong
Tellin me I'm sickening
Oh Oh Oh
To believe him is to forfeit
Everything I am
And everything I'll never be
Oh Oh
So I'm feelin like a motherfuck
The only way is down from here
Oh Oh Oh
Feelin like a motherfuck
The only way is down from here
Oh Oh Oh
beatiful

Those fuck me up so much
Me resulta lindo pensar en que el Brian de 1994 no tenía idea ... No sé imaginaba, que cambiaría la música alternativa para siempre 💙✨.
Damn...this song is so sweet...he had to write it in age of 15 :D But it's awesome as every Placebo's song :)

Such a cheery melody for a text that kills. And your video is no less amazing. Nothing is going to save me from this addiiction.
Love molko

Why did Brian get married? He was supposed to marry me...he had other plans 😪
Does it make me gay that I've heard a Placebo song, since they suck really bad at making music. Wait, no, that doesn't even make sense. Carry on chap.
