This was a special one. It was Hannah's bday and I thought taking her on a quick trip for her bday would be amazing. Leaving the little guy at home is always tough, but sometimes parents just need a moment, so I flew Grandma in and we were off to Anguilla.
I had chatted with The Belmond Cap Juluca to arrange what I'd hoped would be a perfect bday trip for Hannah and, well, it exceeded everything we imagined. Easy flight there and quick boat transfer only to arrive at what I believe paradise should look like.
We stayed in the Casablanca suite and they rolled out the red carpet. Cigar for me (next level move!) and gifts for P, and just all the nicest staff and people we've encountered at a resort in a long time. And.....dining in the pool....!
Everything at Belmond Cap Juluca is incredible. Definitely put it on your list. Easy east coast trip, but worth the trip from wherever you're coming from. Let them know we sent you....!

My husband and I are HAPPILY married for 31 years. Part of our happiness has been making time for our marriage. Taking trips without the kids and feeling so ok about it. Our three girls have always admired that about us. My birthday is 10/28 and my husband is 11/3. Part of our tradition has been a taking birthday trip to celebrate both of our birthdays. Thank you for sharing this with us. It makes me happy to see young couples do this and not fall into the traps of feeling guilty about leaving the kids to nurture your marriage. P, will be so much happier to have happy parents, not perfect parents !!!

Absolutely astonished and grateful to receive this message from my favorite UA-cam couple! Hannah has been such a role model for me in terms of strength, kindness, identity, wellness, style, the list goes on. No one is perfect, but we can all agree she is admirable. I can't express how much I appreciate you both for taking the time to respond. I wrote my book last year. Since then, I have been debating on whether I should send over a message and let her know she is the inspiration for the main character of my children's book. I was hesitant because I became accustomed to no responses or rejections from others. Eventually, I felt I needed to say something because kind words really make someone's day. If someone made an impact on you, let them know no matter how small. Thank you so much Brendan for your help and kindness! I would be honored to deliver the book in person once I return!
I rarely look at people as goals, but I have to admit that these two are absolutely remarkable. Their lifestyle is funded through hard work. I really admire these two.

I love Anguilla, St Martin (French) St. Marteen(Dutch). I remember the local food in Anguilla, that Queen and King lobster was massive and grilled with island spices delicious!
