Keep in mind that the main purpose of these videos is to help folks learn harmony parts to hymns and not to sound perfect. These recordings will sound a touch raw for a few reasons; I am not a trained singer, I am using very simple recording hardware, my recording 'studio' is a couple of spare mattresses set on end to eliminate unwanted sound reverberations.
If you enjoy the way that these hymns are sang and want to experience them in person, stop by just about any church of Christ and they'll likely be singing them the same way. Without instruments.
My recording process:
-Record each part on a Rode NT1-A to a Zoom H4 recorder
-Some pitch correction in Melodyne
-Mix in Mixcraft 6
-Combine audio and sheet music in Corel VideoStudio X7
-Music is typeset in Finale v26 by me or borrowed from PDHymns.com

My sins are great, and I keep falling into the same two sins. These hymns bring comfort to me, but I feel as if I'm constantly losing the fight myself. I tell the Lord how I repent, how I'll stop, yet I keep stumbling. Pray for me brethren please, as this is truly painful for me and crushes my spirit.
I love you brother. Keep going along. The Lord will be witj us until the end, despite terrible times and truly awful things.

Addictions and sins are stronger than us. Until we admit this we cannot really give power over to God, Who is the only one stronger than our sins.

The 3rd verse means more and more to me as I get older. Shame so many song leaders skip it for time's sake.
I find the third verse in most hymns is usually the most poignant. I despise skipping verses in hymns. They’re there for a reason, and I feel we should sing them.
This hymn reminds me of my late grandfather who passed away last year in October. That was the most painful season of my life. I lost a real man that truly believed in God. This hymn is a prayer for me. Lord, abide with me. I still feel that pain to this day. I look at his watch and his cuff links and feel like a part of me just shattered.

Just imagine how grateful I am!!! Imagine waking up to my requested hymn performed and uploaded as I'd requested!!! A few weeks ago, I had told you a little bit about myself!! Throughout my life of surgeries and being sick needing a ventilator and other equipment that sustains my life I've been brought up around these Hymns! And this is my favorite!!! I'd told you how I've been known to sing this song when swinging on swing sets, hanging out in a friend's camper, and singing this in other places! Such as on the back of a motorcycle one warm sunny Summers day!!! And then I requested it! I woke up this morning and found it had been accepted, and I cannot begin to describe how thankful that I am right now!!! I thank you sooooo much!!!! I'm sooooo ecstatic right now!!! It's still early in the morning and my Mom is still sleeping, however I'd love to scream with joy right now, but I'll reframe from doing that since she's asleep!!! I'll just show her when she's up!!! THANK YO SOOOOO MUCH!!! THANK YOU!!!!!

Thank you so much for posting these beautiful hymns. Listening this morning while cleaning my apartment. As I reached the final verse, I had to stop and sing, the Spirit moved me to tears. This and “Nearer Still Nearer” to be sung at my funeral.
Such a comfort to have a God is so loving. One of my favorites. Great job.

So I've been listening to your channel for a few months (without looking at the about/info at all) and just really enjoying this great group of guys singing so perfectly. I felt like I kept hearing a hint of an irish accent on some songs, so finally decided to look into them a little. They are "shape notes". This is the 7-shape system. Each shape corresponds to the solfege scale - Do, Re, Mi, Fa, Sol, La, Ti, Do.

Sure thing! It's somewhat regional these days. Common to see hymnals with shape notes in churches of Christ still. And some groups still do solfege singing around the US, but I think mostly around Appalachia.

How is SALVATION gifted to man?
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.

Jesus answered and said to him, Truly, truly, I say to you, Except a man be Born Again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
How can a man be BORN-AGAIN?
To be Born-Again in spiritual sense, is to die to our old sinful nature and be born-again in the spirit, to be holy, righteous with a new nature in Christ Jesus.
👉To be born-again, we need to repent & confess our sinful past for a holy future.
What is repentance?
👉 REPENTANCE! Everyone born into this world is a Born-sinner. Human nature is a sinful nature. Sin in us has defiled us and has separated us from the Holy God!
We have to repent for all the unholy, lawless transgressions of God’s commandments done willfully or unknowingly, in order to obtain mercy and grace so that we might not be judged and fall into condemnation, the condemnation of eternal hell.
📖 Acts.3:19 says,..✔️Repent, then, and turn to GOD, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the LORD
What is confession of sins?
👉 CONFESSION! The guilt of sin and it’s condemnation is rolled away if one truly regrets his sinful past and confesses them in the presence of Jesus Christ.
📖Romans.10:9 &10
✔️That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.
📖 1 John, 1st chapter & verse 9 says..
✔️If we confess our sins, He (Jesus Christ) is faithful and just to forgive us our sins(every sin)...
The sole purpose of sending Jesus Christ into this world more than 2020 ago is this👇
