Honestly, I think the song does an excellent job of encapsulating how hard life is for youth. Even in a lot of the best of circumstances. They really deal with stuff I can't even imagine dealing with. And I hated my junior high years. They felt ugly. But nothing compared to this.
I try to remind parents with kids who may be struggling, "To us, it may seem little and silly but to them, it's their world! All they know is family and school."
At age 41 this song really gets to me. I’m 50 years young and my best friend committed suicide 3 years ago. Not a day goes by that I don’t think about him. Nobody had any idea that he felt the way he did and I was with him almost every day. It’s a very shitty thing to feel that way you just need to reach out to anybody that will listen. Life isn’t fair especially when you’re young just be kind to everyone, because just being nice and thoughtful to someone can work wonders for them.
