All of these scenes are underrated because I’m right. And if they’re already highly rated they simply need to be rated more.

Honestly my two favorite things about this are that Tom and Maddie really subvert a ton of typical tropes for this type of thing by being just generally supportive partners and never really fighting and that they do not have an olive garden sponsorship, they just thought it'd be really funny to have one character who is obsessed with it and talks about it as if the movie is doing a blatant sponsor segment.
My one wish for these movies is that they used the games world building that the funny animals and humans live in the same planet just since that makes a lot of things make more sense and require less changes, but it isn't the case and we are well beyond that so I can just accept it for what it is
I mean that would change the whole lore of it, like they wouldnt b so surprised to see the little alien animals if theyre just... always there. like at that point its just even more of stalking if sonic is from that world and understands what stalking is
Also they both just seem to adore their kids with one of my favorite moments in 3 (minor spoilers)
Is when the second sonic and the others appear asking for help they are immediate in wanting to join because they were so damn bored without them

I just realized that in a lot of Sonic media, Sonic is an adopted child. Sonic Underground, retconned, adopted by Uncle Chuck. Sonic SATAM, beloved, but again, adopted by Uncle Chuck. Sonic The Hedgehog The Movie, yet again, not just adopted, but adopted TWICE. IN ONE SITTING.
The only time you ever really see his parents, and this was also retconned, was in the Archie comics, and thats only after he was a well established hero in that canon.

Also, I guess if you really wanted to, you could headcanon that he was adopted by the Thorndykes/ Chris' family in Sonic X as well. He's definitely always an orphan though. So are most of the others, barring exceptions like Cream. Interestingly, Rouge appears to have a mother, since she's mentioned her before. Makes you wonder how common orphans are on their world and where they all came from.
I feel like the bets part of these movies is watching Jim Carrey slowly transition from generic military look into the classic Dr. EGGMAN that we know. It's kinda phenomenal.

This entire part was so beautiful on my first watch. That's when I knew we were living in the best timeline where Sonic hit the big screen. He almost looked like Modern Sonic because he's blurred a bit
Its amusing really... gotta love how the human characters actually feel like they fit into the same world as a Fing blue hedgehog from another planet/reality.
Now this is a cast chat could do Sonic 06 and actually pull it off well...
I honestly had forgotten how funny the first movie is. I guess i’ve gotten so cought up with the more and more character intriductions that i forgot about the fun simplicity of the first one

I think in Sonic universe owls (even in the game universe) are a bit more realistic than the other animals, just like in the engravings on the walls of the labyrinth zone

The most underrated moment was when they brought on Colleen for an end-of-movie cameo intending to swap her out at first convenience and then accidentally made her the least expendable VA in the whole franchise
That’s probably why all future end credits scenes going forward had all initial debuts be voiceless

Can we just say that this decade truly has been the best decade to be a Sonic fan like we got 3 movies all that are peak and actually broke the video game movie curse we got good games coming now there are a few exceptions but its not forces kinda bad and weve only made it halfway through the decade weve still the other half of the decade we have left to get many more games and movies frontiers was right "were only at the beginning of this one way dream"

In its defense, it starts out promising enough-there’s Christopher Lloyd as the chieftain ghost of Knuckles’s tribe, there’s an homage to the bike-over-the-moon shot from E.T., Knuckles wears the hat he wore in the 1999 OVA and I think there’s a bit in a musical number (don’t ask) where they depict Knuckles’s father as infamous comic book writer Ken Penders (if you know, you know).

the knuckles series is a fever dream and its terrible but i love it for that

The Sonic movies did the impossible for me by making their human characters likable. I didn't like Chris Thorndyke in Sonic X, but I loved almost every single human character in the Sonic movies (only one I didn't like was Maddie's sister Ashley, her shtick got a bit too old for me). You know you did something right where fans are wanting a movie-only human character (Agent Stone) canonized in the games.
