After watching Top Gear Vietnam Special, I took my motorcycle licence in 2016 and did my solo trip in 2017. Its the greatest adventure of my life so far. 🥰
(from Bolivia) Lost my wife to COVID. It's Xmas - I'm alone with my cat watching your Xmas ... VN is much prettier than when I was there in the stupid war. Thanks guys
Vietnam one of the best countrys in the world , with awsome nature and verry kind people , was 4 times last 2 years and will go back again soon , Greatings to whole Vietnam from Belgium ,,,,,,,,
Vietnam is my most favorite place to go! The whole country is beautiful! I would love to relocate and live there, but they prolly do not want any yanks there.
As a Vietnamese, I'm so proud of that you guys enjoy being in Vietnam. Your video is literally great and your journey is awesome. There are bunch of cool things to do in Vietnam. Welcome everyone to come to visit my beautiful country
Amazing trip, you guys. Viet Nam is very close to my heart because I was married for a few years to a Viet Nam vet who made it back in one piece-at least physically, but many did not, including my childhood sweetheart. He died young-only 19 y/o. I know so many Vets, from that era and the pain they went through, so the film brought back memories and was bittersweet. Just happy to see how much it has changed. I would very much like to visit SE Asia, primarily the Philippines, Thailand and Viet Nam, but not alone. I'd not feel safe w/o people to travel with. And haven't found anyone who wants to go there. So nice to see videos of other people's trips there. Thanks for sharing.
You'll be safest in Vietnam. Philippines is probably the least safe from your list. As a female traveler, you won't be groped, raped, kidnapped, harassed, etc., like many other countries. Other females have mentioned they felt totally safe in Vietnam. Check out recent videos from Sammy and Tammy, Max McFarlin, Phuc Map, Vietnam Meets Dustin, Chris Lewis, etc.
I am in the final stages of utilizing the retirement program for noncitizens. I am planning the shipping container now and making sure everything I’m taking is legit. I love this country! I will live out my days here and be forever content!🙏❤️🙏
No contest...my favorite Vietnam video of all time. It's definitely a video that I go back to, whenever I miss Vietnam. Much love, Tim and Fin ! From Vancouver, Canada
Fellow biker here from the U.S. I sooooo envy you both. In the same plaza as my gym, was a nail salon owned by a awesome Vietnamese family. I was married at the time, but I must say that it took ALL of my 240 very muscular pounds to not disrespect my wife, and to not disrespect their daughter. Thee most beautiful, kind, and gentle woman I have ever known. Financially I couldn't now afford to travel to Vietnam, but I often dream how incredible it would be. GOD BLESS YOU BOTH, and the most beautiful women in the world.
I laugh my a** off when seeing you guys sang a Vietnamese song!!! That was an awesome trip, even I'm Vietnamese but I haven't tried a motorbike trip from South to North. Thanks for showing our beautiful country to the world.
I spent a year in Vietnam under different circumstances, but enjoyed the country and the people I knew. Lived in Boun Me Thout for 8 months. Was flying quite often. Saw a bit of Dalat, flew to Plieku for steak lunch. Lived in Nha Trang for 4 months. Also made it to Da Nang to catch a flight to Hawaii. Was in Cam Rahn Bay a few times, as well as a number of other places including the Nouc Mam capital of south Vietnam. There were a number of Cham Temples from the past to see as well. But I really enjoyed the Central Highlands where I lived, got to enjoy the aroma of the coffee plantation there, and also made a midnight rescue mission into Cambodia. Recently saw fotos of Boun Me Thout, could hardly recognize the place. Would love to make a trip to Vietnam, it's a very beautiful country. Loved your travelogue.
I'm so jealous of you guys. It's such a shame to be a Vietnamese not knowing much about beautiful scenery in my own country. This is how I've been wanting my life to be: happiness and freedom. Love to see your vids. Best wishes to you guys.
I'm very appreciated that the people as you guys could drove the motorbike from south to north. that was an incredible journey tbh I'm Vietnamese but I can't do it like you guys. thanks for coming and enjoying in my Viet Nam , you're a part to make a gorgeous Viet Nam to everyone in the world. #Respect
Thanks Tien! We're coming back in May to explore Sa Pa, Ninh Binh and Ha Giang areas. We'll be in country a little over a month and we're so excited to be coming back!
this should be a lesson to everyone to not plan too far ahead. if they didn't prebook all their accommodations they could have stayed places they loved for extra days, waited out bad weather, and enjoyed an already great trip even more. thanks for the video guys. its inspiring
Độc Tài . Hello jerk ! How come you talk bad about ur Country ? I'm so ashamed for you because you're a Vietnamese . Have Vietnamese Communist ever treat you bad or what ? Do you remember Mr. John McCain ? He was a pilot of American Army, he and his fellowships were in Hoa lo prison but Vietnamese Communist never beat them or let's them hungry. They all survive going home. After the War ended The Vietnamese Communist allowed your father and his fellowships go to America . I want to ask you is that good enough, is that kind enough? So you don't ever talked bad " OUR Country " again ok Moron?
I'm in vietnam. I am so happy when you love your country. So you guys could be my friend and I respect that. My Facebook account is "Real Phuc X Trieu" . Have a great day guys 😍😍
Im a vietnamese borned in Vietnam.i have grown up in England and now LIVE in GERMANY. You have done a GREAT VIODEO(LOVE TO WACHT EVERY MINUTE OF IT.YOU CAPTURED THE BEST OF VN WELL DONE and thank you for a supper video!!!!!
You guys are living the life. I left VN 30 years ago, went back there in 2008 from US and I used to live in Nha Trang, never been to the North, my bucklist is just this. Although when I was back, couldn't drove the bike like you guys. Kudos!!
This the best video I’ve watched on UA-cam for such a long time thank you! I’m currently in Chiang Mai and leaving for Vietnam in 4 days to do the exact same trip so I searched for some inspiration.....I watched from start to finish and enjoyed every minute. Stay safe in all your endeavours and once again thanks for uploading this 👌
Whoa! Thanks a ton! We put a lot of work into these videos to make them more of a cohesive narrative of the whole experience. Have an absolute blast on your upcoming adventure in Vietnam....I'm sure you're going nuts waiting out these last few days. Stay safe out there and our fingers are crossed that you have great weather!
Amazing trip! Very nice sensibility, quaint and with professional flares with the drone footage. Epic yet personal - Great job! This is among the top 10 personal travel video of Vietnam - LOVE IT LOVE IT.... especially the last scene drinking chatting with a group of locals. It's still developing so the diversity between regions of the country is much more noticeable ... and more interesting.... The country side vegetation are amazingly diversified. It could easily be over 50 plant species in one scene along the highway - SPECTACULAR!
Thanks for taking us through Vietnam, too much fun was had by both of you! Looks like a great country and I hope that I can do as much one day. Stay safe and keep the fun going!!!!
Great video and trip, guys! Congratulations to you, sir! A woman that: 1. Learns to ride a bike. 2. Handles the bee sting like it was nothing - had all kinds of them riding 3. Taking shots with the locals and not even making a face! Keep having fun guys!
Awesome, awesome &... Awesome!! Thanks to share the trip!! Vietnam is a great country to visit, especially for the people (always with a smile to share), culture and history. Cheers!!
I like how you travel without a fixed schedule. I taught my kids to travel in a similar way. We would book the first night for our arrival to get our bearings, and the last night, to catch our flight on time. In between we went wherever the wind blew, making for adventure and catching the most interesting local happenings. If we found an exceptional place we would stay extra days, or return again. We were always able to find a room at short notice, or book a room in the morning for an evening arrival. Only once did we get stuck in an unsavory place (it was full or roaches, and not the smoking type!!!). Now, at 31 (they are twins) they're more travelled than I. They've been all over Europe, North Africa, North & South America, Asia, Australia, the Middle East, and even Iceland! I find your documentation excellent, plus it returns great memories.
Just a little travel advice for anyone thinking about doing something similar... So only 10 minutes in, but I am glad when I did this reverse trip from North to South back in 2006-2007 that I did it by bus and rented motorbikes in every town I stayed in and explored each area more thoroughly. my original plan was to do the same thing and ride a motorbike the whole way like they did, but back then I read too many stories about getting ripped off. It Saved my ass and back the daily pain of driving all day.. I highly recommend traveling through Vietnam that way. It's an open-ended bus tour-meaning you can get on or off at any stop and stay as long as you want and just catch the next bus going your way(by the same company) and you still enjoy the views and scenes. It will also save you the many headaches of a flat tire and breakdowns. Junk boats on Ha Long Bay are the way to go- a fun and unique experience! I did my adventure all by the seat of my pants, meaning I had no reservations at all throughout my trip. There are plenty of nice hostels and inexpensive places to stay along the way. I enjoy your videos and remembering the same places I visited along the way on my trip back in the day! MY OH MY how things have changed though! -MORE PAVED ROADS AND WHAT WERE BIG TOWNs ARE NOW SMALL CITIES!! Hanging with the locals at the end is best experience you can have!
Awesome video. I did this 51 years ago on my Honda as a young student exploring my country but never experience such a big trip like you guys due to safety and war at the time. I did cover Saigon to Dalat, and Saigon toward the southern area. Thanks for sharing the experience. What a feeling, watching the video sure bring back lot of good memories.
greetings from california.....i wish i was born just 3 decades ago, so i can copy the experience of ultimate enjoyment you are in now.... wow that is my thing....people, culture, and places....
Found this video randomly and loved every minute of it! Amazing trip and superb video! I've been to VN multiple times but definitely not brave enough to do a full South to North ride! Will be on my must do list! Thanks for the video!!
Viet Nam is a fantastic country. Visited in 2019 for my brother's wedding (his wife's parents are from Viet Nam so they had the wedding there), and just loved it. Beautiful nature, wonderful people. I think I'd study there or even move there for a while if it wasn't for the really dangeorus traffic :p.
This video is my stress therapy, love it - I left my Vietnam 48 years - did not have a chance to go back - keep up a good works - Love you all from Los Angeles
God bless you - this is such an awesome video. Proving that the beauty of travel isn't when everything goes according to plan and when discomfort is all part of it. I so hope you remember this as the rich, interesting experience it obviously was. Big hugs to you from an old lady who so relates to this.
I really enjoyed this video. I lived in China twice and am moving to Vietnam in 2 months. I've been watching a ton of videos trying to get a good feel for the country and this video showed me almost all of it. Thank You.
That was an awesome video of the trip you guys took. I'm not ashamed to say that I learned so much from watching it and it also felt like I was being there... wow... Thank you for sharing. How the heck did you find those impossible (to find) places with the natural nature beauties and the untamed villagers? My hat is off to you guys... Anyone who endured that long of a trip is more than a.... warrior! :). Best!
Respect to you guys. I think you had the right combination of motorbike riding video footage and social time video footage, made it more entertaining than just having a camera on a bike with just the scenery the entire time
What an amaaazing documentary of your travels! I thought to myself that there's no way I'm going to watch an hour and a half of a bunch of people on a bike. I was hooked from the first minute to the last!! Seriously I'm going to be so tired at work tomorrow haha! I've looked into going to Vietnam for a good couple of years now but always end up somewhere else. Now I know I simply have to experience Vietnam. I have a degree and a TEFL as well so I might just see where that takes me! Thanks soooo much for this upload! You seem like an awesome bunch of dudes. I wish you well wherever life takes you :)
I love watching your adventure in Vietnam. I was there 30 years ago. It is a beautiful country with beautiful people. I wish i can do the adventure you guys are doing. Have fun and make memories.
Whoah... Wait... What?! Zero ads😙💯👏your channel bar none is a game changer!! No irrelevant, irritating ads😥just pristine nature and kind commentary😉. All hail 🙌Tim and Fin👨💻👩🏼💻👍
That moment when 33 dollars is splurging! Oh how I looove Asia. Thanks so much for sharing this, I was thinking at first this was gonna be another cutesie couple video (eyeroll) but you two are super cool and down to earth and enjoy the real backpacker experience. Amazing!!!
Have the time of your life doing the ride. Thanks for the kind words. (And buy yourself a shiny new helmet for the ride! Don't use an old busted up one :)
You gave a girl a motorbike and 2 days later she wanna lead. Kkk. She learned to ride a bike even faster than a local girl truly. You guys are so awesome. Great videos, great mood, great adventure.

To Tim and Fin: I truly pity your fellow Americans who died for nothing during the Vietnam War. Indeed, it's true from the very own words of the late Ho Chi Minh that he is not a communist but a nationalist. Your country never learned a lesson until now to interfere the affairs of other nations like Afghanistan. I'm sure you gonna lose that war because people in Afghanistan are xenophobic and their politicians are so corrupt which is the same thing happened before in South Vietnam. You better sympathize and take good care of your soldiers because they also have their own families whom they loved and missed so much. You better save your own soldiers for a future war that is "Just" and not a "Stupid" one.
I’m a Vietnamese who came to America not long ago, your video made me miss my hometown alot. I know about the stuffs that we are having right now isn’t the best but hey that’s what nice about Vietnam. I’m literally having teary eyes watching your video Cám ơn vì cái video quá sức ý nghĩa của các bạn❤️
Just came across this video and you got me! I had to subscribe! Greetings from Laredo,Texas 🇺🇸 keep up the good work guys! I loved every minute of this video ♥️
Saw this when it first aired n it popped in my suggestion again. It’s the best trip tour imo. I am viet/American n been back there 15 years ago. I love seeing you appreciate my home country as I do cus it’s quite foreign to me to. First time back 15 years ago, stood in sidewalk for 10-15 mins before mustering you courage to cross Saigon major street. Quite scary first time. Great video 👏🏼👍🏼🙏🏼
After watching Top Gear Vietnam Special, I took my motorcycle licence in 2016 and did my solo trip in 2017. Its the greatest adventure of my life so far. 🥰

Seriously why would someone "Dislike" this video? I really enjoyed it gys and i miss Vietnam a lot. Its an amazing place!!! Thank you
You are always welcome From Vietnam
Driving in vietnam by foreigners is illegal
The video is great as is Vietnam. My guess regarding dislikes is probably the stupidity of Americans riding around with usa flag masks in Vietnam...
No contest...my favorite Vietnam video of all time. It's definitely a video that I go back to, whenever I miss Vietnam. Much love, Tim and Fin !
From Vancouver, Canada

Totally agree Ryan! We have very much learned our lesson and don't travel like that much any more ESPECIALLY on bike trips.
Wow, this is probably the best video on Vietnam I've seen. Beautifully edited, fun, informative.
Thank you for this. I was born in Vietnam and moved to the US at 10yo. Truly grateful for your videos.

IT's so amzing for me, great. I love vietnam
What a great adventure, beautiful country. I wish I do it one of these days.
Anyone who endured that long of a trip is more than a.... warrior! :). Best!
My Son did this journey on his push bike. He loved it. He has also done China to UK !
Thank you for your great joy and great adventure to my beloved country!
Have fun and make memories.

thank you guys, from vietnam:)))
You better save your own soldiers for a future war that is "Just" and not a "Stupid" one.
i love you
Can you believe it? I watched the entire video! Simply because I enjoyed the adventures of the smiling couple 😄
loved this! usually wouldn't watch something so long but this was really fun!
I’m a Vietnamese who came to America not long ago, your video made me miss my hometown alot. I know about the stuffs that we are having right now isn’t the best but hey that’s what nice about Vietnam. I’m literally having teary eyes watching your video

Same 👍
A motorbike drive through Vietnam seems very exciting as was fun for me just viewing, the many wonders of exploration I enjoyed watching.
Thank for sharing your trip. It’s an awesome and unforgettable trip.
Congrats on over 1 million views you two! Vietnam is high on our list of places to visit.
Thanks a ton! Big milestone- we’ve been at this for a while 🤪
Don't worry just relax and enjoy..it is just a temple and feel free just every one else. CA/USA
awesome vid! I did this trip a couple years ago, but in the reverse, from hanoi to HMC. probably one of the best things I have done in my life.
Same.
