You should play Legends Arcrus then it's a much better Pokemon game.
For real, the technical problems are embarassing, but the core gameplay and pacing has been far better than all the previous mainline 3D era games. I couldn't get myself to finish X/Y and Sw/Sh was a snoozefest as well.
Gamefreak is almost there, just needs more presentation, production and polish.

Every other let's play I started to watch the player would be like screaming and they're like "New pokemon game let's goooooo!!!" And they just over react to everything. And then here's Charlie like "yup.... new pokemon game.... 😐" which is so real. this is definitely the one I'm meant to watch

The core of the game is amazing. You can tell the devs put some heart into it but didn't have enough time to polish things.

Honestly if they fix the performance, this game will be very good. It’s legit the only thing wrong with it unless you just dislike the Pokémon formula. In which case, the game wouldn’t be for you to begin with.

@@kyotanaka920 Charlie even admitted he had a fun time without the bugs/glitches. Obviously performance issues is no excuse for a $60 game, but the graphics aren’t the problem, it’s the the fact two games came out in one year
Man this game is real fun I’ve even seen the credits…..but dang it’s insulting to see the fps drops and bugs happen, so much potential in this game if it only had like an extra 7 months or even 4 months to fix some of these glaring issues

The level scaling ruins the open world. Game freak doesn't have it in em anymore. Nintendo should make pokemon games going forward

It definitely is okay fun to me, but by how unpolished and lazily done it is kinda insulting honestly, really went outta their way to introduce an useless academy setting that gets time skips anyway just so they don’t have to design clothings for the game, despite they have 4 or 5 individual shops in town that sell only either socks or glasses, I got beef with that crap
calling it lazy is unfair tbh. 99% of the time when there is bugs and problems in games its not the programmers being lazy its them either not having enough money to keep working or not having enough time to iron everything out. its defo the higher ups fault for having a tight schedule vs the actual developers being lazy

We've reached a rough moment where people criticizing the game get annoyed with folks that still have fun playing it, not to say its charlie more the comments section, we need to be carful not demonize people who still enjoy the game while acknowledging this game series is past due for some tune ups, or rather a faster pace of them then this one step forward two steps sideways then cha cha real smooth. Folks can have fun and enjoy what's there while others discuss the issues, both of these can be true.

I thought everyone found out it ran like shit the day it came out. I know the game leaked like a weak earlier but those people were playing on an emulator so the performance issues weren't as glaring.

Charlie stopped playing bc it was too hard how ironic and embarrassing from him and I wasn’t gonna comment that Lmao. Don’t get me wrong I haven’t bought a Pokémon game since 2013 in gen 6 and the graphics is Garbo but besides that the game was still fun and fresh. It's really funny seeing people try to defend this. This game is what happens when devs put no soul into a game series, it's the same game they've made for years just very slightly different and with terrible performance and graphics.
So you just legitimately hate for no actual reason. Have you seen other Pokémon games? This and Arceus are the only one of their type, even Charlie acknowledged they’re heading in the right direction. The graphics aren’t even bad what a fcking reach. Not one to defend Gamefreak, but you’d say the same shit regardless of what they gave you.
What do expect from a franchise that is basically the McDonalds of videogames. For as long as it's still available and consumable, people will continue to buy the products again and again despite the questionable quality of said products
