Nice, this one could grow to be even longer! It's crazy how sometimes we can encompass a whole statement in 1:30 and another time we have twice that length and could keep going.
Thanks! The funny part of this project is that at the beginning of this year and for most of it, I was thinking everything had to be short and concise, which meant all my development and even A & B sections if I had them were wrapped up in a minute lol. It wasn't until these last two months that I came to the realization how nice it is to let things breathe, slow down, and develop. It's honestly a reflection of my own life, as I am learning to slow down and breathe more 😅 I look forward in the coming year to writing longer works which are "allowed" to take their time and develop. I think there is beauty and suspense in letting things unfold at whatever pace they need to!
@jonathanwingmusic hmm Jonathan, I like your answer a lot, but I think there is more to that! Remember the pieces have to be done in one day, from what I understand, so certain methods of extending the pieces would make it impossible. You could write a 5min melody of god knows how many sections and do it fast, but can you do the rest equally quickly? That's why the assumption made sense. Of course you found the other method of extending the pieces, which is absolutely valid and cool, and very interesting to hear how it reflects your life!
@@Marunius thank you, and very true, it all depends on context of so many other factors and the potential complexity of orchestration! Maybe it's the exhaustion speaking after the whole year but I think I'm enjoying simplicity, slowness, and minimalism right now lol. Anyway, there are many pieces from this year's catalog that I intend to revisit to stretch out and slow down into longer, more developed works, so I look forward to that opportunity after taking a moment to pause and reflect 😅

@@Marunius I am not sure, I have a friend visiting town so I may not have time for anything too crazy - I am thinking of doing a simple string piece which is how I started the project to bring it back full circle lol. We will see! I am still getting through video renders and have some really crazy ones uploading this week, just in time for your birthday haha 🤪
