Thank you for these posts, brings back memories of younger years in Allentown always watching my String Bands...my favorite? Ferko, of course! No string bands in Florida
So, sometimes the string band just marches in other kinds of parades? I'm from Ohio, what do I know? I know I love Ferko in the Mummers Parades....Thanks to everyone.
Holiday parades in the Delaware Valley - Philly & suburbs, South Jersey and the very northern tip of Delaware. July 4th and Columbus Day always have string bands somewhere. One band performs in the Springfield, MA St. Patrick's Day parade every year. Maybe you can lure them out to Ohio.
@@prushimush Thank you very much for the update, prushimush..!! I've been checking the comments of this video at least few times a year, to see if anyone would answer Daniel's question below since 2015. 🤣 That's a great song. Ferko is an amazing string band. Just awesome..!! Thank you again, prushimush..!!
@@BlenderStudy Thanks. Philadelphia's string band culture is really great. I play the plectrum banjo with another string band. Philly is the only place you'll find a large amount of obscure marching instruments like banjos, upright basses and bass saxophones - and violins, in Ferko's case. String band jobs are getting booked again and we are all hoping to make a big comeback for New Years Day 2022. We're waiting for the sunrise!
Prefect can't get enough.
THANKS GUYS, NEVER GET TIRED OF THIS GREAT MUSIC.
How happy these men are .really enjoying their music...even the crowd. Wish we had them in this wee city of Newry Ireland

"I'm So Alone With the Crowd", a 1930s(?) pop song maybe best known for its version done by Morton Downey
