I kind of like the background noise. I'm not sure if it's an air conditioning unit or maybe road noise? It has a weirdly soothing tone to it.

Its really nice when someone does your hair. Kind of makes me missing having long hair again lol
Some ideas to improve a nearly impossible situation (that you cannot ask cars to not drive for an hour): Maybe try a microphone with a very specific polar pattern to help isolate the sounds you want.
The free alternative is bring the microphone in close and play around setting the gain. The close proximity will naturally be selective (I'm talking about placing the microphone 0 to 2 cm away from the source).
