9:00 Prag finds the winning move with 2:30 left on the clock. I think he took 1 minute to find the move! There are so many variations to consider. I spend 5 minutes knowing that there a winning move with no pressure and couldn’t find it. These guys are from a different planet
Not exactly. It's like competing against a mathematician in a math contest, they've dedicated more than a decade chess and we haven't, for us chess is just a source of entertainment and for them chess their life.
I'd disagree, the top 4 are all unbeaten except... Pragg. He needs to play solidly to get to the next level, to stop the mistakes. He's had a great tournament for sure.
Pragg had a dissapointing chess olympiad and a great Tata. Arjun the opposite - great olympiad performance, underwhelming in Tata. Gukesh was great in both. He might be the most solid player out of those 3, hard to see Gukesh having an awful tournament performance moving forward.
@@paulmartin7238 no, it's not like that, Arjun fell ill and that's why he's making more and more draws and not pushing hard, at least he can defeat below 2700 guys, but he didn't try!
Garry Kasparov was dismissive of the world championship match as a fake contest between #5 Gukesh vs #22 Ding, but now Gukesh climbing to #3 spot and leading such a super strong tournament with +5 score hopefully has silenced Kasparov. Also Kramnik who indirectly attacked Gukesh by saying it's unworthy of being called a world championship based on a single game also has to eat his own words. Gukesh is no fluke and he has been consistently winning classical tournaments. Gukesh is only 9 points behind Nakamura and he's closing in on the #2 spot. Gukesh is only 18 and before he is 20 he could dethrone Magnus from #1 spot. Magnus insisting he hates classical chess isn't going to help him defend his #1 position.
The best way to deal with nonsense is to just ignore it. Both Kasparov and Kramnik made those salty comments and will now have to eat the humble pie. Ofcourse this is just one tournament but this is probably how 2025 will shape up. And Kasparov and Kramnik will have to keep their months shut if they have any sense of self-esteem.
Let's hope he can maintain it but I'm very excited for gukesh, i want him to be number 1, that would be epic. Or Pragg be number 1. India is already taking over. Sorry Fabi, I'm from the US but India is already showing who's boss
@sarvottam4097 gukesh doesn't play any novelty or creativity he just plays engine moves and put time pressure on opponents and win where as pragg has creativity ideas that magnus backs pragg more than gukesh ...look at gukesh game if not for time pressure most of his games are draw ....opponents while playing against gukesh must keep time on
An Indian World Champion, India winning the gold medal in thr Olympiad, 5 Indians competing in a world tournament of 14 and now 2 Indians leading the leaderboard - As an Indian who since childhood have known only one name, Vishy Anand as the synonym of Indian chess, it just feels so proud to see India dominating like hell in world chess. Never thought Fabi will lose this. Gukesh may well end up being World number 3 by end of this tournament.
Please stop about this boasting, because of "proud Indians" like you. People see us as overly motivated fools. If anything cheer for Gukesh or Pragg or anyone else. That is much better than commenting "Proud to be Indian,Jai Ho'

Brilliant attacking game by Prag. While he seemed to be slipping last year as Gukesh and Arjun roared ahead, he seems to be back with sharp and courageous play.
#suggestion Fedoseev vs Leon Luke It's such a crazy game with double 'doubled' pawns. I watched Leon's interview and he shows this incredible defence of Bishop b5 to promote white's pawns, which Fedoseev missed during the game, it's just brilliant!
Well since last year we have learned that the true world champion is Fabiano (from comments in this channel c squared podcast etc.). I'm hoping those comments won't run out soon.
Chill bro we all know in candidates both of them are there but when it matters gukesh come out to be the best and fabi can’t beat ian in last match .As for candidates still yan win two candidates more than fabi .So those who are jealous of us just crying fabi in comments and all knows who is the world champion
@@dimitriostsilingiris6588 of the true world champ ? Yeah our champ is not even in the top half of the table in Tata. Is this even fair? He showed so much generosity to Nepo in candidates and no one cares about him? Where's the generosity? Where's the decency? Where's the modesty?
Pragg has been on fire in this tournament, he is my favorite of all the indian chess players. Wish he was more consistent like Gukesh, but then his play style wont be as dynamic
@agadmator Your enthusiasm is contagious, and your consistent efforts have made chess more accessible and exciting for everyone. Keep doing what you do best-you’re a true legend of the chess community!
Welcome to the jungle I want to watch you bleed (Axl Rose) 🎵 great game Pragg showing some serious attacking skills in his last 2 wins The miss by Fabi Qd3?! seemed very large in outcome of game the find the move moment I had the right piece to move but going in wrong direction Thanks Agadmator
How far are we going to get where individual positions have names? In 100 years time are we going to get to move 25 and recognize the "ultra retro stockfish version of the kings knight and Gukesh secondary defensive black bishop variation of the queens gambit declined" ?
That a3 move was so anti-chess. Caruana is a great player, i don't mean to question his move at all, but we have all been taught the basics- in case of pawn storms, you try to sit tight and not extend your own pawns to facilitate the opponent's pawns, sort of playing a relay race where you help extend the baton.
Anyone who's surprised Pragg's Winning with black against Fabi the 🌎 No. 2 on demand here @ Wijk Aan Zee 2025... Just a reminder, Pragg did it so convincingly @ World Cup 2023 also...✌️😎👍
So to speak technically short castle is 1 move while lang castles is 2 move coz Kb1 is by default you cannot play long castles with king being on C1 😂😂😂
Because you don't have any other piece to make use of that pin. Just a light squared bishop which can't participate on the dark squares. White will just gently unpin himself on the very next move.
I disagree it is incredible, because some particular player is slowly crawling away from classical games as his performance wasn't good and wants to hold rating 😔 He streams by the way

Insane game indeed. Fabi played a risky game and lost due to Pragg just going all out against him.
Yeah the queenside castle was risky, but I always love to see it!
Fabi's pawn pushes were so timid. Both a3 and f3 were so weak.
