Clifford Smith (born March 2, 1971),[1] better known by his stage name Method Man, is an American hip hop recording artist from Staten Island, New York. A rapper, record producer and actor, Method Man is perhaps best known as a member of the East Coast hip hop collective Wu-Tang Clan.
The Wu-Tang Clan /ˈwuːtæŋ/ is an American hip hop group from New York City, originally composed of East Coast rappers RZA, GZA, Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Inspectah Deck, U-God, Masta Killa, and the late Ol' Dirty Bastard. The group was formed in (and are associated with) the New York City borough of Staten Island (U-God, Method Man, RZA, Ghostface Killah and Raekwon) (referred to by members as "Shaolin"), though some of their members are from Brooklyn (Ol Dirty Bastard, GZA and Masta Killa). They are frequently joined by fellow American rapper and childhood friend Cappadonna, a quasi-member of the group.
Tical 2000: Judgement Day is the second studio album by American rapper, and Wu-Tang Clan member Method Man, released November 17, 1998, on Def Jam Records. The album's title and overall theme were heavily influenced by the apocalypse theories surrounding the forthcoming end of the 2000 millennium (2000). Judgement Day features production from RZA, True Master, 4th Disciple, Inspectah Deck, Erick Sermon, Havoc, and Trackmasters, among others. The album also features a multitude of guest appearances from artists such as Mobb Deep, Left Eye, and various Wu-Tang Clan members and affiliates such as Streetlife, who appears on seven of the album's twenty-eight tracks.
Patrick Charles, better known by the stage name Streetlife, is a hip hop artist who is a close associate of the Wu-Tang Clan, particularly of Method Man. He was born in the Bronx, moved to Houston, Texas, and later moved to Staten Island where he grew up.
