Meh I’m not really good enough to give advice but if you don’t know how to draw lighting I recommend you search up some videos, if you add some ambient / volumetric lighting it could make a painting look so much better than the initial result
You prbly need more knowledge on fundamentals is all. Form, lighting, perspective, material indication. Find stuff on how to take those to a realistic degree and you’ll surely improve :) There are books and UA-cam stuff on these things. And none of them are as scary as they sound. :)
@@cole_r finally I feel like learning science wasnt a bad idea. I can easily identify the shadow in which direction to draw and it kinda depends on the sun position and the lightning . I actually surprisingly, have adapted quite quick to working as zoomed out at possible, and I've noticed the skill has helped my overall composition in my other work as well. Hi This is my first comment on UA-cam ever! Just want to say that I found your landscape painting is very inspiring! I love how simple your strokes are, but when all those simple strokes put together, everything start to make sense and become expressive and emotional. Also you are very generous in sharing your knowledge with us. Thank you!! I have learned a lot from you!! Bless you ☀️☀️
Incredible, it starts out looking actually doable, until it's suddenly really detailed and way beyond my skill set ahaha But seriously, those look fantastic, I love this kind of rough look and the way you shade! Beautiful work!
I LOVE the contrast you added with splashes of colored lighting like the orange light in the icy landscape. The details like the reflections in the water, the mist - WOW I just can’t get over these!!! Breathtaking. I set the video to play at .75 speed because I wanted to have enough time to soak it in!!! You are so inspiring. Thank you so much!!
Sometimes I start with a certain color palette I have in mind, then I break them down into simple shapes, adding depth and contrast and some finishing details. Sometimes I'm inspired by actual places and I study them and do some artistic/stylistic modifications, sometimes they are inspired from some amazing artists whose works I get to see everytime I open artstation (a goldmine of inspirations and ideas)... So yeah that's how it goes. A lot of observation and imagination.
These are really amazing. I’m a 3d artist but since I hurt my back due to long times of never stretching I had to stop and slow it down. I’m thinking of just doing this now and learning more of digital painting and get my ideas down that way. Making 3d models takes a lot of time due to how many steps but I see this as a better option since it takes less time and looks amazing. Thanks for the inspiration.
At 2:14-ish, I love how you kept "Your Battery is Running Low" in the video. It made me laugh so much! Like, the fact that it isn't even on for a millisecond is hilarious to me. Great artwork! I just-it's so-Captivating! Edit (again): And I'm back! I think what makes the style fit so well is that you don't change the brush too much. Of course, there's the blend tool and a couple others, but overall you're not flipping between, say, the pen tool and your current tool. I think that would take away from the fluidity of your abstractness. This is my first time seeing your video and I subscribed right away. I can see how much you've practiced and it's motivating. Again, love your work.
