Finally!! The only reason I joined RiffHard was this man… it was really sad how the Browne/Monuments lessons were taken down, but so excited for this now!!!
Did we ever find out what happened between eyal and John. The podcast was way better when it was both of them and the site is still nice but not the same
I found the lessons very wanting, I joined riffhard because of a video I had seen of John explaining the idea of the lessons ie. Focusing on fundamentals and building on that. Everything on riffhard to me feels random and disconnected there is no step by step process which is what I was looking for. I’ll likely try out MM ACADEMY because this looks much more like what John was talking about. Very excited to see this website has these “pathways”
@@Goose21 probably similar to whatever happened between him and Emil Werstler that made Emil not want to rejoin Daath after Eyal announced that he was bringing Daath back.
This was an insta sign up for me. I was pleased to see Kieran involved in the new endeavor too, he's a good boy. Good to see some of old members of the other site on board too!
Awesome and incredibly well organazed structure found in at your site!.. As an oldman of my 70's, I'm on a fence to join the lesson. Do you think I'm too late to follow up and/or getting through your lessons?... Be back after gone thru the free trials...thanks John.
holy cow , you have put so many more ideas in to this than anyone else has thought of...hope the neck movement is getting better..ps cool top ,,looks like something from dune.
its been a while since i have been a riffhard member but i loved my time while i was part of riffhard. this new revamped take on it is quite amazing. so much work went into this new venture and it definitely shows. this is riffhard on steroids. i immediatley made a free account on launch. way to go john and team!!
@Pughhead This is essentially riffhard 2.0 with a rebrand. I'm all for this. Just from me signing up with a free account I can already tell how much work and effort they put into making it the best version of riffhard they can possibly make it. I'm all for this rebrand and upgrade!
One of the main things I didn't like about Riffhard was the lack of an overall structure for the lessons. This looks like it has much more thought put into that.
Just this second signed up - I was umming and ahhing about riffhard for months and months but never commited. But I'm going to fully commit to MMA and become the guitarist I want to be this year. Thanks Browne!
Congratulations on the launch!Clearly tonnes of effort gone into it and it looks great Been a fan since We Are The Foundation so great to see all your success, well earnt. Hope it all goes well!
Seems like it doesn't work for Ukraine right now. It's sad, but well, I'll wait! The John Browne School seems to be the most promising thing for me. Congrats on your launch!
The vast majority of the site stuff is in DADGAD even the theory areas. I really wish you would have mentioned that when you were making sure to talk about how inclusive you were being about making it all 6 string.
Keep in mind Big John Browne has been on a quest to put DADGAD on the metal map for years. If you want to keep as close to standard as possible, downtune to Drop D and that covers 50-80% of rhythm guitar. For everything else, there's 90% of UA-cam that covers Standard. Good luck :)
Yes but it's still standard tuning intervals which don't change shapes, or just a drop tuning(only 1 string a further step down). Stuff like DADGAD isn't super common and completely changes how you play chords and other shapes since you are tuning down 3 strings, it's more of a commitment to learn. If something is in C Standard, you can play it in E standard still and it will still sound right, just in a different key(or like I mentioned in my reply to John, you can also use a drop pedal or plugin to alter it easily if you want the same key). It could be a big deal for someone with only 1 guitar or two. @@Beyond_Reproach
@@JohnBrownemonuments You can still play stuff in other tunings, and not have to transpose, it'll just be in a different key(or even just use a drop pedal or a plug in to transpose). There are drop tunings, but that's just the 1 string at least. I just think it would be good to be more transparent about it is all. I know most Monuments fans would probably expect DADGAD but I figure you'd trying to appeal to a broader base.
John has the drip of being a marching band conductor for the sith army and I am digging it
And my member is literally dripping, what does that mean?
@@ESPspiderXIII I'd check with your physician if that lasts more than 4 hours mate!

@@Goose21 no, and that’s fine… business partnerships come and go… I’m just really happy that we still get to learn from Browne through this site now
Same!

So very true, thx for caring John, happy new years to all.
Happy new year!
What a powerhouse of musical mastery here- Derek’s tone-setting keys, Samurai Thal going into full slaying, solid rhythm section & Dino…nuff said!
Well done Mr Browne. You are the Best !
This looks great! I'm a very new beginner, so it looks like i'll definitely be looking into it more when I get better.
Why wait? There’s a free version, don’t go learning bad habits on your own when you can get it right first time and save years of spinning your wheels

This is awesome. I've been waiting for something like this for a while.

While it makes sense to also include standard tuning, how many modern metal guitar players actually play in standard tuning? I can name maybe 3/4
99% of (6 string) metal is some sort of drop tuning.
