Thank goodness I don't see those giant tires where I ride. If I ever do I will now know how to properly fall off of them! I'm actually looking forward to it!
@1:47 is pure anxiety. Not everybody had skid plates but this kind of thing always made me shit my pant, the second 1 of the 2 wheels were not connected to something.
He's featured in quite a few of the vids over the past two years... but we haven't seen much of him lately. I think the four stroke would be pretty tough through some of the trails we are doing nowadays.
So in the dry, you don't double blip it but rather just keep the gas on? Also, does double blipping always involve the clutch or is punching it twice a valid technique? Thanks in advance!
Heaps of variables Andy, but with good traction you could probably just use the punch technique which is just one hit of throttle. Double blipping works best along with the clutch but it's hard to do... I tried learning to involve the clutch but just gave up.
I can’t wait to try this but i just thought of a point. My bike is a motoX bike (kawi - 250f 2013 if it makes a difference) that i use for enduro riding and so tracks if i can get there, but i just thought of it, on the hot days, have you ever heard of motoX bikes over heating? For me im either at a stand still or doing about 20mph (32kph) and nothing too much slower unless im waiting, have you ever heard of constant slow hard enduro training over heating bikes or spitting out a bunch of radiator coolant? Im not sure if enduro bikes are built differently for the slow and heat or if mine just goes at stand stills and i haven’t realized yet. Thanks in advanced! (In the mean time ill look for anyone else who has this question on forums and such to see their responses)
Not really sure, possibly some mx models have smaller radiators to save a bit of weight? I do know that KTM 2T enduro bikes overheat easier than our Beta models, which might come down to coolant capacity....
@@crosstrainingenduro ive found very little on it (so far) but some people say you can use high performance coolant to cool the bike better, and the other comment mention them running hotter in the first place for more compression, so that would share a few places. So technically its easy to have an enduro bike but seems to be fine on cooler days and just need to maintain it/pay attention slightly more on warm days
Slowly improving thanks, it's been just over a year now and the prediction was it would be fully healed by now. It's close, but a dull ache still sets in once I've been riding for two hours. And regular stops help. Hopefully this will pass too.
Much easier to just start small and work your way up David, I wasn't game to try tyres this big for four years. Something between the height of the axle or the rear wheel is a good place to start.
The things you can do with an old tyre I had an old front loader tire back in the day I used to play on with my Hodakas I haven't had that much fun since the hogs ate me baby brother
It's very handy for cars, we've even got an old vid where we filmed Graham Jarvis using this technique to ride over a car... and a very cool stoppie riding off it!
@@crosstrainingenduro Ah, that's killer! I'll have to look that video up! Thanks! Fun/Random story: In the late 90s, 2 random dudes showed up at my folks place when they heard that we had a Huge 1/2-pipe. They were on their way to compete in the X-Games.. Chris [the rider] and his friend Scott [driving them] We all ended up hanging out all day, called friends, got together for a hell of a session.. Chris decided he'd show off his "trials skills", and he hopped his bike up onto the hood of Chris's car.. **Thud** He put a big ol' dent in it.. Instead of stopping there, he continued to stall / side-hop / stall / side-hop - back and forth both around both sides and to the front of the hood.. At that point, with all of us laughing and yelling, he hopped up and completely destroyed the roof too. It Was Soooo Funny!! I'll never forget it! Then later that or the next year - He was literally kicked out of an x-games competition 'for being too extreme'. Instead of using a set of ramps to bank from one to the other, he left the riding area, came blasting back in, stupid speed, hit 1 ramp straight on, and air'd Sooo Big, thatat he over-shot the fencing, and landed on some spectators. lol Never a dull one.. 🤣
Next, how to go Down near vertical embankments of 2 meters or more. I just went down a slope, front wheel dug into the sand at the bottom and did a head dive into the ground. Spine compression is no fun.
Ouch. I know all about spine compression over the past year lol. Until the back is 100% I am just bull dogging the bike down steep stuff to be safe. Or using that slide technique we covered recently for really steep stuff.
I put a skid plate on my xr650l and this dude made fun of me saying the big red pig isn't hard enduro bike???what u all think? I ride hard so I want the protection ya know
Hard to say, I'm not sure if stones thrown up by the front wheel can damage crankcases or not. If you are ever needing to get over logs or might ground out in rough terrain then it could prevent damage or flattening your frame tubes...
@@crosstrainingenduro right thsts what I figured plus I already had my chain snap and crack my case so I have a case saver coming and am gonna jb weld it I guess. I just dont wanna have to rebuild the bike again lol
Interesting.. it looks like you deleted my comment about your technique. I thought you'd be above that sort of thing and would take constructive criticism. Apologies if it offended you.
I can't remember your previous comment and if I deleted it or not, Alex. My general rule of thumb is how would the 'constructive criticism' come across if it was said to my face. If it was said in a way that would piss me off, I'll delete the comment. If it was obnoxious enough I'll just ban them from the channel.

When I see wild tractor tires in their natural habitat like that I avoid them. Gotta be careful, they're easily provoked.
This one was carefully sedated with moonshine before we started hitting it.
how are you getting thoes aireal zoom in shot they look awesome
360 cam and a 3m pole, works a treat ua-cam.com/video/kCeg8zX1zeU/v-deo.html
What is in the middle of the tractor tyre, where usually is rim?
Plywood bolted down and with chicken wire for grip.

Two strokes

I thought it was that mx bikes run higher compression, hotter cams, and different ignition which creates more power but also more heat.
