Thank you for acknowledging what is happening to the extent that you can. As someone who is both Ukrainian and Russian, it has horrified and shocked me how many Russians don't seem to care whatsoever what their government and army is doing in Ukraine.

Privet Alina! I had watched you for about 2 years before the 24th Feb. Love your adventures. Commented a few times. My channel was called Letters To King then.
Then lately I thought about you quite a few times remembering how you loved St Petersburg and Kiev where your family and how his event is tearing you apart. I'm kinda feeling the same way, torn apart. Love both Ukraine and Russia, what's happening is beyond tragedy. Feeling absolutely helpless. Thanks for commenting.

Watch what is going to happen in the west soon. Sanctions will hurt west as never before but russia will recover because they have energy which is needed for any progress. I wouldnt be nervous if stupid goods are not for sale in hypermarkets. Who cares? People in russia will adapt as they always do but I understand if a pampered boy/girl cries for not having their burger, fancy clothes or the latest phone, TV, sofa...

You have changed me, an average Australian. Allowing folks to hear your thoughts, and understand the ‘impotence’ many of us share … and to give others the opportunity to recognise that fault lies elsewhere than with the Russian people themselves. Dictatorships have a way of making everyone ‘responsible’.. it’s one of the methods of control.
Don’t ever believe you’re not making a difference. Be careful… don’t put yourself at risk … you are a good soul. Always keep that front of mind.

I'm going to try and be careful with how I phrase this comment. Be careful with simplistic lines of thinking like this. There does seem to be some truth in the idea that populations often get the governments they deserve. It's easy to say that in regards to democracies, but this can often be the case with authoritarian states also. I appreciate how much of a brutal thing that is to say when you consider some of the governments that have existed, and do exist. I'm not naive to that.
Ultimately collectives are comprised of individuals, and if every individual acts as if they can do nothing but crawl into their little hole; nothing improves. If every individual acts as though their actions matter, the situation can improve. It's a strange scenario, where, on one hand, you kind of are irrelevant and inconsequential as an individual - but on the other hand, by acting in defiance of that, you allow the chance for people just like you to change the world through your collective effort. The individual human being is the ultimate foundational piece of the largest social structures we have. We are dwarfed by them - but we comprise them.
While there are situations where it's just "their" fault - we should always ask how it is our own fault first. Sometimes we enable bad people. It's easy to blame "that guy over there"; but difficult to blame yourself.
“The line separating good and evil passes not through states, nor between classes, nor between political parties either - but right through every human heart.” Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn

This has been an enthralling video. I guess we get the pulse of an economy quite realistically from looking at the malls ( cars parked , shopping cart loads , the lighting and escalators turned off, and reduced trading hours commence ). Another apparent indicator in the 1930s was freight train lengths and frequency. We can't forget to t a ke note of the number of cranes in the cities as an indicator of optimism and prosperity . The top man has alway been psychopathic. We saw it for the kursk disaster in murmansk. The Chechnya affair was criminal. We kept our fingers crossed and hoped for the best , then journalists began to disappear. Russia could've had a prosperous thriving economy along with a new age of enlightenment but something held everything backwards.

Thanks for the insight guys, very interesting. Here in the UK we're not noticing any shortages of food or drink (at the moment), but prices have gone up here too, including for petrol, gas and electricity. Inflation is officially running at about 8%, but in reality it is higher. Just this week I have noticed in Lidl that grated (250g) cheese has increased from £2.49 to £2.75 - a 10% increase from one day to the next. Other items I've noticed have increased by as much as 30% in the last couple of months (sorry I can't think of examples), but many other items have stayed about the same, like bread, meats, fruit, vegetables etc. Ok they may have gone up 5% or so, but nothing too badly. But the supermarkets have definitely been taking advantage of the situation. This is all from my experience as the shopper in our family. I have noticed some things selling out, like pasta and rice (I think some people know what's coming), but nothing else really, but that will change I think. I have started stocking up again, while things are still plentiful and relatively cheap. Sadly, I think things are going to get progressively worse, very quickly, throughout the world. I don't give a shite what people think, this has all happened by design. Planned, caused and encouraged by The Powers That Be. No coincidence. Just like the last 2 years, every country is doing the same thing, at the same time, with the same results. Really makes you think.

You show honest and actual footage of what’s going on and how this ‘special operation’ is hurting the civilians. And there is not much you or anyone else can do about it, just to show what’s going on. And believe me, what you show is perfectly understandable. Besides the reason that this ‘special operation’ got to be started, it is so useless and sad for all involved. Great video! Wow, I was surprised at how empty the parking lot was at that large mall. Also at how many of the big-name stores that had closed- Starbucks, Victoria's Secret, Uni-Glo, and many others. And the price increases on staple food items at the supermarket- I was really surprised by that. One example was the bag of sugar- it costs 2X now than just 4 or 5 months ago. And many, many other food items cost much more than they did at the beginning of 2022, just 6 months ago. But things will probably get even worse before they get better, **IF** the situation over there gets better. I really, really hope that we aren't living through the very beginning of WW3 right now. Stay safe over there, and keep up the excellent videos! The videos give people living outside of Russia a glimpse of what daily life is like there. But, sad to say, I'm sure things are much, much worse in Ukraine, especially in the eastern and southeastern part of the country. This feeling of helplessness you have is shared by thinking people all over the world. We are all horrified and in anguish about what is happening in Ukraine. It is important to remember that there is very little we can do to stop it. What we can do, and what should bring us comfort, is to give to causes which help in areas of conflict around the world. I live in Canada and I am well aware that my situation is vastly different from yours. I feel your pain with regard to the uncertainty you are going through with your job. I also think the combined stresses of everything are affecting you emotionally. You need to talk to a professional if possible; and maintain strong bonds and communication with your family and friends. Remember, the common people the world over want peace and friendship with each other; we are all striving for the same thing, a peaceful life. Keep doing these videos and don't lose hope. Know that you are doing everything you can within your power to help and like the rest of us, we can only do that and wait for the storm to pass. Pray if you believe, seek inner peace in nature if that is your path. Stay strong; if you are not strong, you cannot help others. I am thinking of you.

We’ll said, many of us everyday americans only wish for peace & prosperity for the people of the world. I personally don’t go in for politics and blaming. The powerful ones that control the decisions have to live with their choices, while many of us regular people are just members of the world’s population. When I see the destruction and death, I only see a waste, no matter who’s fault it is, it’s just a waste. Take care everyone, everywhere. Hopefully sometime soon we can go back to living in peace?

KONSTANTIN, the last couple of years have been really hard...pandemic, political unrest (in the U.S.), climate change, inflation, and now Ukraine. I know so many people who are exhausted from all the stress. And I can only imagine how you must be feeling with the economy in Russia starting to feel the sanctions.
I tell my friends, and my family, that there is not much you can do about the news in the world that is depressing. But you *can* do something in your own circle of people (friends, family, neighbours) by bringing positive energy wherever you go and with whomever you meet. A smile, a cheerful greeting, whistling songs, all sorts of things like that. Try not to focus on the world so much, but instead focus on your loved ones, and people you meet.

"What can I do?" I ask this every day when I do not want to get out of bed. Every day, people in my country use guns and kill other citizens because of built up frustration.

Not being a politician, honesty dictates: when a “brother” invades a home, the parents of a little girl hide her in a garbage can. Here she can hear her father being tortured and killed, her mother attacked and killed, and her brother forcibly taken to an undisclosed location in Russian territory.
Governments begin and end wars. But wars are fought by individuals - person to person. And many victims will never call Russia “brother.” 2/3 of all Ukrainian children are refugees; i.e. homeless. Russians make very poor brothers.
