Thank u my friend. She was an amazing companion and friend. She touched everyone she came across at the airplane field and she will continue to do so through this vid. Thanks for watching.
Brings back fond memories. I was in the Marine Corps 1962-1966 and for most of my enlistment worked on F4 Phantoms as a fire control technician. Attached to VMFA-542 from its formation at MCAS El Toro to its disbandment at MCAS Iwa Kuni.
Flew mine 6 times today. Absolutely loved it. I did put a Jeti Assist 10 channel receiver and it flies on rails with the heading hold feature on the Gyro. The knife edges look pretty good.
@@JustPlaneCrazy I fly heading hold while cruising and flying fast. On landing Phase, I have it on Damping Mode with more gain. I take off on Damping Mode also so the takeoff looks more scale. I can turn both modes off.
@@JustPlaneCrazy Yeah. That Jeti Assist Gyro Rocks! You can adjust all the gains real time using the Radio for different flight modes. I do use a knob on my radio to adjust all three gains for the three axis.
I am so sorry for the loss of your dear friend. They become such a comfort to us and us for them. Very nice job with the Phantom. They have always been such a rugged workhorse. Beautiful plane and nicely flown!!!
I have the 8s version The only problem I have is with the front gear pin Keep breaking I been flying this model fo 3 years I need to find the way to reinforce the front gear Too much slap I love your videos
Awesome maiden and F4! I have the newer 8S version but have not flown mine yet, really interested in a future upgrade video to see how you added the servo and turnbuckle.
Sorry about the pup brother.....I love my dogs more then I do people most of the time so I know how you feel as most of us dog lovers have been there and it sucks. Now for a smile.....foam still sucks LOL
Lol. That made me smile,Ty. Those are hard to come by lately. Working with balsa at 1:30am. Right now this next BIG project isn’t any better. But yeah, I hate foam
Here is the servo. Don’t forget to let them know I sent you. gator-rc.com/kingmax-s30m-50g-30kg-cm-digital-steel-gears-mini-servos The wood former I made. I used ball links at both ends of the titanium rod. So it really up to you I just used stuff I had and unfortunately don’t remember the length. Install the servo. Center the elevator and make a measurement. I would recommend 3mm by whatever length.
Congratulations on your maiden, Glad you did those elevator recommendations. That is the way an Phantom is, She likes a pitch up a little. I always just went for it. Just be careful if you do a go around. That's where I got in trouble. I knew you wouldn't enjoy the 8S power. I miss mine a lot. Sorry for your loss too 😢
Nice maiden Flight! I agree with you on the SMC's. I now fly all my EDF's on SMC packs. They test out the best of anything I've tried regarding individual cell IR and amps and are very close to the advertised C (everyone else is lucky to be at 50% of advertised). Use the 6S 5300 in my Mig, the 6200's in both F-4's/A-10/F-18's (all with the 12 blade 6S Inrunners) and even the 8100 in my 6S F-16 with that 12 blade. The best Lipos IMO out there and Danny is a pleasure to work with. The 6S 5300 is very lite at 684 grams and even the 8100 isn't bad at 898 grams. The F-16 now flies over 5 minutes and just put the 6200's in my Mig and got over 5 minutes, can't beat that for an EDF! Condolences on losing your BFF, I know the feeling, but she'll always be in the skies looking out for you!
Thanks much. I have done a few vids for Danny. Nice guy for sure. All my tests for the vids have really opened my eyes as well as many others. Smcs are awesome
I actually picked this up on an estate consignment sale. I do have many planes made in different countries. There really isn’t many if any planes made in the USA. If they did the cost would be so high not many people wouldnt buy them. Such plane companies as great planes, gone, dyna flight gone, sig man, gone but just returned, so not many choices out there. With that being said I am building a 30 yr old dyna flite pt19 currently that cost $150 bucks that was missing one gear leg and was short 6 pieces of balsa that cost me almost $200 bucks to replace. So far I am in $350 bucks and don’t even have a frame of a plane yet. I guess my point is for too long we have demanded too many things, higher wages, better products, perfect quality and now we can’t get anything from anyone. It’s a balancing act.
@@JustPlaneCrazy Its greed and now our market is flooded with Chinese junk. I was too strong with you, You do understand this. They under bid US companies leaving no competition. The last Rc I built was the 1/3 clipped wing Cub from SIG. I enjoyed the build . About $300 finished, w/o radio. I sold It after two flights. All airplanes crash but not this one on my watch. I enjoyed your Video.
Thanks for the compliment. Comments are always appreciated. I reply to everyone. I also believe everyone is entitled to an opinion. I can’t say we always see eye to eye but I do respect everyone’s opinion.
my condolences for your loss
So sorry for your loss.😢

She def took a peace of my heart and soul that will never be the same.
Oh man it got dusty in here. Sorry for your loss because they are family.
She will def be missed. Thanks for watching.
Awesome flight - Very nice intro dedication
Very nice job. I always like to have the maiden in the bag and not the plane in a bag. Sweet!
Love that saying.
Sorry for your loss and great flight. Cheers
Brenden, I'm sure sorry for the loss of your "Buddy."
Thanks. Def a tough time right now
Great flight. I do miss my F4’s.
Flew mine 6 times today. Absolutely loved it. I did put a Jeti Assist 10 channel receiver and it flies on rails with the heading hold feature on the Gyro. The knife edges look pretty good.
That’s awesome love it. Do you fly heading hold all the time or switch in and off?
@@JustPlaneCrazy I fly heading hold while cruising and flying fast. On landing Phase, I have it on Damping Mode with more gain. I take off on Damping Mode also so the takeoff looks more scale. I can turn both modes off.
Super cool thanks for your input

B, do you have a video showing your Elevator Upgrade? Would be interested in seeing how you modded the OEM. Best, LB
It will be out soon.
Great job, I like mine on 8s, I haven’t done the elevator upgrade yet though. Sad when we lose our family members.
It is for sure. We spent a ton of time together. Thanks for watching

Keep breaking I been flying this model fo 3 years
I need to find the way to reinforce the front gear
Too much slap
I love your videos
Thank u. Thanks for watching. I will keep an eye on my pin 📌
I tried the F-14 pin. I can try to fine the part number if needed.
Isn't it the same issue like on the A-10 from Freewing? I would be appreciated for every kind of improvement :-)
Great maiden and tribute to the flufffy one who I am sure now has wings for the sky, and will always be their with you in the sky. 👍🏻
Awesome maiden and F4! I have the newer 8S version but have not flown mine yet, really interested in a future upgrade video to see how you added the servo and turnbuckle.
Thanks. I hope to have it done this weekend

good maiden flight ,, l thought it was a little pitch sensitive but other than that it flew great and was fast.
Neat flying plane. Thanks for watching🤪😜😝
Can you give a parts list for the elevator upgrade? Thanks!
Here is the servo. Don’t forget to let them know I sent you.

have u compare it with smc pack? how was it
The Smc packs have handled well over the years.

50C IS TO LOW
A true c rating is vital. 50c multiplied by mah of 5000 gives you 250 amp capability. Not too much
