Very interesting. This video is not filled with the radiation of toxic sludge produced by other bigger channels. You have genuine passion for this and it shows. Your videos are fun to watch and I hope to be seeing more. Keep your metaphorical dungeon safe from corruption. I wish you the best of luck. 👍

My advise: stay away from modern graphics. This shit cost me two years and I'm still learning new things. Shadow mapping, PBR, reflections, transparencies (glass w/ reflections), translucencies (grass, leaves, ice, fur), clear-coat, bone animations, cloth rendering, sky rendering (atmospheric scattering, aerial perspective, fog, light rays, clouds, volumetric lighting), global illumination (ssao, ssgi, sky visibility (for sky ambient occlusion) etc.), lights (point, box, sphere lights w/ shadows) and the list goes on.
The reason why Minecraft became successful is simplicity. Lighting is just hardcoded per-face tint variation, textures are used as-is without any BSDF, sky is a LUT, sun/moon is just a floating quad, SSAO is baked into vertices when meshing is happening based on some neighbour checks, lighting (from light sources) is also per-vertex, with per-pixel interpolation, clouds are just some boxes, animations are done by the CPU, all of this is pretty easy and it all runs pretty fast.

Yeah I noticed. Luckily my integrated graphics card prevents me from falling into most of these time-sinks.
But I still try things on that front every so often because a lot of these things would be cool to have.
I think minecraft got popular because it allowed for more freedom than most games of the time, and not because of graphical simplicity.
Nevertheless minecraft does show that players don't care about graphics that much.
For example ambient occlusion has been broken since 2013, and not many people have noticed: bugs.mojang.com/browse/MC-43968

Can someone tell me why there are so many comments containing 'dungeon' and 'radiation'? If you want to help then like this video to attract more viewers to this channel so that more people can explain it to me.

Hm, I have the strangest feeling I should suggest a feature relating to dungeons and radiation...

I'm curious about how Cubyz will do structures such as a dungeon. There are some very interesting ideas in Cubyz that set it apart from other Minecraft clones, mostly to do with procedural stuff. Another thing I'd love to see is more unique biomes, including ones with different challenges like temperature or even a biome containing hotspots of radiation.

I had a cool idea for a structure that's like an abandoned nuclear reactor. It'd work like a dungeon and maybe a radiation mechanic could be added which works like a Minecraft status effect or mutates certain entities in some ways. Of course, this'd only work if the game picks up a more post-apocalyptic setting though.

I'm too lazy to write a useful comment. But I'm not to lazy to read random texts in a slightly annoying way. One thing that threw me off initially was the whitespace between a and useful. I didn't see the arrow there.

Neat stuff right here. We take these things for granted. I like that you put in extra work and care for anything, it really makes you think of where Cubyz is heading and what amazing things await. Either if Cubyz ends up being a sandbox type of game or a survivalist game i'm curious about the gameplay stuff and world. If biomes will be a thing. Or even *Dungeons* . It could be cool if biomes even gave some player effects like when you traverse the mountains and the air is light so you might run out of air but you can jump higher, or some cave biome full with *Radiation* and it could radiate your items and you. I'm just spitting ideas out now, and maybe even saying secrety messages. Who knows.

Great comment! The radiation thing might actually be a fun idea, though probably a bit hard to implement. And Cubyz will definitely have dungeons.

Pretty interesting stuff! It really provides some insight about how text rendering works behind the scenes, so to speak. Although even *this* seems a bit too complicated for me 😅
Good luck with the rest of the rewrite, hopefully you can get back to working on content once all the base systems are finished! 👏
(P.S. I'm surprised nobody else noticed the Radiation Dungeon yet >>)

How long did it take you to figure out?

@@quantumdeveloper2733 I noticed that something was up when I saw the arrows weren't random (you're not-so-hint cluing me towards that), after that it was a bit of reading between the lines. (Although the hard part was coming up with a "useful" comment 😆)
It's fun to engage in these little puzzles online from time to time! 👍
