Please don't apologize for getting technical and explaining the science behind the marketing. I, for one, wouldn't be here if I wasn't seeking that knowledge.

I use micellar everyday and I generally rinse after. After washing my face for the last 22 years, it just feels right to rinse.

OK....so if you bought ANY brand of micellar water and are disappointed, don't throw it away! I just cleaned the front of all my kitchen cabinets, with 1/2 cup micellar water and a toothbrush. It cuts grease like a chain saw! Garnier Micellar ...utter rubbish for removing eye make up, bloody brilliant in the kitchen!

Mistress Mars I have an expired, eye stinging waterproof eye makeup remover on my toilet cabinet with a tape on it saying: “Not for eyes! Use for getting stains from your hands.”...the story is that my bf once came from doing some kind of messy oily diy -job in the garage and asked how to get his hands cleaned...I gave him that eye makeup remover that I never use because it hurts my eyes so bad. It took away everything that a normal soap couldn’t😊👍🏻

I have dry very sensitive, highly reactive skin. I have tried 5 different brands of micellar water and the only one I didn’t have problems with or have to rinse afterwards is the Bioderma sensitive formula.
I do use it as a toner/refresher. I use CeraVe cleanser and moisturizer. Since I switched to only using these 3 skincare products my skin has improved beyond belief.

I still don’t understand what they’re for after watching this. “They’re for removing makeup but they don’t do a very good job and can cleanse the face but you still have to wash your face afterwards. Great if you don’t have any other water available for a proper wash. So yes BIG thumbs up.” .......what?

I agree with what you say, they can be very useful. However, I'm not finding any of the ones I've tried very good with mascara removal. Bioderma's, Garnier pink and orange tops, Superdrug's B. Pure and Cosmetics A La Carte's Total Lift Off - my personal favourite and the best I've used. However, removing mascara with any of these still leaves me with panda eyes in the morning.

I’ve used the CeraVe micellar water and it stings my eyes. It also leaves my skin feeling oily, which is too bad because I’m usually a big fan of their products. I’m trying the sensitive - blue cap- Garnier micellar water and I’ve had zero irritation and my skin feels moisturized but not oily. So far so good 👍

I never use cotton pads because they irritate my skin. I step into the shower, but before turning on the water, I pour a couple of tablespoons of micellar water into the palm of one hand, then rapidly apply to face with both hands, massaging gently but thoroughly. I then turn on the shower and rinse well. This method works well for me to cleanse without residue, and without drying my skin.

Highly recommend Marcelle’s & Lumene’s Micellars, both of which are also cruelty free (which Bioderma &Simple are not). Personally I don’t use micellar water in a daily basis but there are definitely times they come in very handy so I do like to always have one on hand.

I have a UA-cam friend who used to Rave in every video about bioderma. She would buy it in mass quantities. So finally, on my first order from beautylish, I decided to try it. I don't get it. It doesn't do much for taking off makeup and it makes my eyes horribly red the next morning. :(

    • @offline1online

Try placing a cotton pad with micellar water on your eyes for a few seconds to give it time to do its work, then wipe it gently and rinse. I have very sensitive eyes and use Nivea micellar water and it works even if I have lots of mascara on. I hope that helps!

    • @homehelpheart7440

My personal preference to take off makeup is a cleansing balm as a one step removal system. I follow up with a gel based cleanser. However, in the morning if I just want to quick cleanse and rinse it is great. I always rinse off, just to be sure my sensitive skin isn't bothered. I like the Simple water boost one.

Cleansing oils are way more effective and a lot of them are fragrance free. Oils and balms are cheaper too and last longer

  • @musa2775
    @musa2775 4 роки тому

I just use it as a double cleanser. So, I wash my face with CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser in the shower, then follow up with Simple micellar water. Once that's 95% dry, I apply The Ordinary hyaluronic acid to keep the moisture. Then, when that's dry, about 5 minutes later, I apply either vitamin C (morning) or retinol (nighttime), sunscreen (day) and moisturizer. Basically, the micellar water is used to get any stuck-on mascara or remnants of foundation in my eyebrows. It's just a nice, extra step for cleanliness.

I use the garnier micellar water. I call it "fat water". I use it on occasion to remove stubborn eye makeup gently. I like micellar water as an add in to my skincare routine, but not as regular part. When I want a little boost, I'll use it, but not every day.

    Hi Dr. Tonks,
I have enjoyed your videos for a long time but never commented before.
I highly recommend La Roche Posay micellar water. Initially I purchased this to gently cleanse my face and neck whilst experiencing a bout of hives - which lasted 10 days. I rinsed well afterward. It cleansed my oily/combo skin without irritation. Packaging was not ideal (large plastic bottle with a pump) so I decanted into a small amber glass bottle.
I have used this whilst traveling on a long car journey (not wearing makeup) and misted afterward with a can of Thermal Water to "rinse", then tissued dry. Freshness on-the-go! I consider this as a "2nd cleanse" product when wearing makeup as I use a cleansing balm to remove makeup.

The Garnier micellar water burned my skin with one application and I always rinse after using any kind of cleanser. It gave me two large patches of eczema on my cheeks. Thanks, Garnier. L'Oreal made a good micellar water that didn't upset my highly reactive and weirdly rosacean and atopic skin at all but it is really hard to find for some reason, haven't seen it in shops around me for a couple of years. Shame, it was nice to take my make-up off with. I have oily but dehydrated skin prone to eczema when aggravated by bad products, rosacea and in 2011I had a major year-long battle with severe seb derm combined with a terrible painful roascea flare that resulted in a lot of dermatologist appointments and drugs. I found the best thing - confirmed by a top NHS dermatologist I saw - for my skin is plain, unscented soap and water, once a day, after removing my make-up with a non-irritating cleanser (right now that means Simple cleanser but I would use the L'Oreal again if I could actually buy it followed by Simple soap or equivalent applied with a soft washcloth). I clean my skin with water and Cetaphil for oily skin in the morning. I use Dermol moisturizer after washing twice a day as my facial skin really doesn't tolerate anything that is not bland, uncomplicated, unscented and mineral-oil based. Plant oils on my reactive facial skin always lead to a reaction eventually. I'm no longer on any meds for any of my conditions as this seems for the most part to keep it all in check.

Whoopsie. Just got 2 bottles of the Garnier ones. I'll use em up but won't buy again .. I got the one for waterproof makeup. Do not use in inner Eye. And it seemed to dry up my nose (I already have dry skin) but I'm sure that could just be me using a cotton while and then washing my face and then patting and swiping with a wash rag because I didn't want to leave any on.
