- Time has been catching up to Anthony, hindering his ability to do his day to day duties. Could a mysterious new additive suggested by his engineer be able to cure him of his ailments, with no side effects?

For those who keep asking, Anthony has a fake wood load on top of his oil bunker in the same vein as the General and the York 17.
I don’t get why people need to ask this question so much! Surely they know that the oil burning Americans today have the cosmetic coal load
Edit, I mean wood load
@@BMMEC6000 most likely because V&T 22 Inyo, the Orange blossom cannonball and B&O 25 William Mason have remained as a wood burner on operation, the 25 operated in 2013 but went back to static display in 2014 while Orange Blossoms steamer, a 2-6-0 has been stored in operating condition due the cost of wood firing.

The sound of his whistle when he's on the "additive" sounds really cool. Is it an actual thing whistles do when there's too much pressure or is it just for show? (I assume the latter but it never hurts to ask)

Am I the only one getting Back to the Future vibes with Anthony's colored smoke?
Now that you mention it

"What should we take?"
"Everything."
"What?"
"EV-RY-THING."
"What IS this spike made of?" More like "what is it hiding?" ;) Another fine piece of work
Thanks!
Guess it’s hiding Anthony’s old tender so that it doesn’t get scrapped.
I smell possible lore
Most oil burning steam locomotives are the American engines.
When the Baldwin-built D59s arrived in Australia, they burned oil before all but three were converted to coal-burning around the late 50s.
Actually only the western, Texas and Midwest half of the United States used oil burners
@@ethanramos4441 if you look at the history of New South Wales Government Railways, you’ll see what I mean
@@NSWSteamFan He was talking about the American steam locomotives. Plus, the D59s were American built engines that were alterations on an American design.
They worked in Australia and that was it.
Now the D57s and D58s were Australian.

1 dislike, that is probably Coleman
Pretty sure that line was in the actual T&F show at some point
"His firebox was on fire!" -Sharron Miller's fantastic writing
@@kosmostimber1174 ah yes xD
When Trainmaster mentioned Anthony's small firebox, it immediately reminded me of Henry before he was rebuilt at Crewe after the Flying Kipper wreck. His original design (a rejected flawed LNER A class Pacific Gresley had chucked) had a tiny firebox for a Pacific wedged between the rear drivers, making him a poor steamer on regular coal
I thought henry was a hybrid between atlantic and pacific. Which is why he had good pulling power but poor steam buildup.
This is an unexpectedly heartwarming episode!! Well done!!
Thanks

As a builder/owner/runner of a old style 'live steam' early 1900, coal burning Erie RR Atlantic(with exposed trailing truck wheels), I really enjoyed this video. thank you. (papasmurf7597/ Erie Atlantic)
Glad you enjoyed, Bruce
Annie should be in video’s more often
Verry true
Well that was quite the episode and yet a mystery with the giant golden spike
11:27 “stay outta my way ash holes” lol clever joke 😂
Ah 7:32 got me, a direct reference to Ellis's or RDG 2100's history hahaha.
Edit: I heard 2102 is being restored to running condition, it would be nice if there was an episode or a segment where 'Ellis' (Reading 2100) gets reunited with his sibling (Reading 2102) cause I think it will be a heartwarming episode since it's the reunion of long separated siblings and they could share the history made by the other T-1's or T-Hogs (Sad to say Reading 2101/ AFT #1 is still in bad condition in the B&O RR museum and Reading 2124 has sat in Steamtown eversince it was moved there).
I'd like to think Craig met 2124
2100 is still in restoration by the midwest railway preservation society
In the script for this episode some lines are missing
Also for Anthony's horrible sounding whistle Apparently fire was coming out of his whistle And probably the pressure mixed with the Chemicals That's also probably why he was pouring out yellow smoke and red smoke
Anthony: I've burned oil all my life!
Me: But you're from the late 1800's, you HAVE WOOD IN YOUR TENDER!😂😂 Awesome video guys!
look at the pinned comment
@@MiddletownBranchProd. yes, I've seen.
Got to say I really loved this episode and I loved the music that was played when Anthony was running my kind of music and fitting for him I loved how they used an Additive I liked the first idea of mixing it with his oil being an oil change mechanic I have done that many times myself but when they were going to fill his tender bunker completely with that additive I said "Oh Not Good" but one question lingers what was this additive that people sell to make a few quick bucks. Hope Coleman will still be his engineer and does not get arrested or fired I liked him too.
I bet that dislike is from Colman
24:52 I had that story covered
I didn’t disliked it but Colman did
Nathan must’ve had chains handy when he pulled Anthony away. I only say this since it is mentioned that a link-and-pin pilot was one of the rebuilt things that the Santa Fe put on Anthony and the fact that he and Grant couldn’t couple up front-to-front in the episode ‘Reefer Madness.’

@@joneau261 your welcome.

Yes.
