I am sorry. I have a box turtle sanctuary, they don't need a lot of water, they are not swimmers. Box turtles need just be soaked in water every 2 or 4 days when they are babies. They love leaves, a little dirt, small pieces of wood, and maybe 2 small rocks to make a natural environment. As adults, they need fresh running water pound.
It’s sad how people don’t talk to educated vets and ask reliable sources for information about these animals people should be educated about a certain animal they want to care for hopefully he’ll correct the living conditions for the box turtle
Exactly Box turtles are land turtles not semi aquatic. They have a similar set up requirements to tortoises. It's like people hear turtle and think "oh they need mostly water and a basking area" 🙄

You should name a ring lizard next time you have a male lizard.. A Name suggested for me for that type of lizard specifically a Male.. should be.. Rino. That be cool name for a male rino lizard
From what I’ve read, sand is bad for baby box turtles because if it eats it, it could get compacted in his intestines.
