The solo to this song gets me every time, it's so simple yet SO musically pleasing to listen to. You just feel it. Such a feel good tune in every aspect.
Yes, they are. It seems over the years other bands kind of come and go but these guys are still going, even with the hardships they have had over the years.
This was one of the first songs I could say I learned to play inside and out, learning chord structure, the different riffs, solo, and additional melodies. I had mainly used a little segment from the Classic Albums: Hysteria documentary DVD where Phil plays some of the main stuff as well as listening to an acoustic performance of the song. With that, I started playing my own solo guitar rendition of the song. This still lesson still shows some parts that I hadn't really heard in the background. This shows the beauty, complexity, yet also simplicity of the song.
Copy that. It's my first time trying to learn Hysteria. It's amazing how much stuff can be played on a guitar. And then the effects that can be added to make for even more variations. It's really mind boggling
Hi Carl , I've being trying to learn this song ever since I got my guitar 6 nearly 7 months ago. And when I saw that you uploaded this like 1 hour from when you uploaded it I was so excited lol. I know I sound like a kid. But def leppard inspired me to play the guitar so it actually means so much to me that you have taught me to play pour some sugar on me by them and also This one it really does. Thank you so much for doing these videos I do learn some other songs from you. I have a song suggestion it's by def leppard and the song is die hard the hunter. Or another one called animal. Thank you very much. Keep it up your doing great
Carl you are the best teacher.. Steve Clark was a master.. You must be channelling Leppard. Thanks for the lessons. Do Have you ever needed someone,, please..
Hi Carl, We cant thank you enough for these lessons. Can you please consider doing lessons on these songs as well: Snuff - Slipknot So far away - avenged sevenfold Gunslinger - avenged sevenfold Until the end - avenged sevenfold Critical acclaim - avenged sevenfold Seize the day - avenged sevenfold Hearts burst into fire - bullet for my valentine Tears dont fall - bullet for my valentine Your betrayal- bullet for my valentine Alone - bullet for my valentine Unforgiven 3 - metallica I disappear - metallica The memory remains - metallica How you remind me - Nickelback Shepherd of fire - avenged sevenfold I'll be there for you - Bon Jovi The sound of silence - disturbed I absolutely know that I'm asking for a lot, but it would mean a lot if you did lessons on a few songs from this list. Also, I swear that when I started this list, I had only 3-4 songs in mind....
THANK YOU for some Def Leppard love! You should SERIOUSLY consider covering this whole album. Good tracks for beginners, intermediate, and advanced players...and your instruction is so easily broken down, simplistic, and EXTREMELY well communicated. Hope the golf game is good for you as well!!
All Mutt Lange Def Leppard albums are masterpieces, especially Hysteria, it’s my favorite Def Leppard album. High n Dry is a close second. Pyromania is also amazing.
Awesome. Thanks for sharing. I know how complex and layered these albums are. I appreciate you breaking it down and making it really approachable. Fantastic!
You're a great teacher. Something that would help from any on screen teachers is to show and say " this or these fingers ARE NOT touching. " In the 2 dimension screen it can be really hard to tell if a finger is touching. Just a help...not a big issue
Theres not a single song I have wanted to play that you haven't taught....can't thank you enough...will definitely try out your masterclass sometime soon!
Great song, GREAT band and yeah the way Mutt Lang recorded those albums its impossible to make it sound the same with one guitar. Next do Animal because man that is a great Def Leppard song and is I think a bit underrated.
A great song for guitar! This leads to (Restless Heart) When She Cries, (Martina McBride) This One's for the Girls and (Sara Evans, Radney Foster) A Real Fine Place to Start. Similar chords. Joe Elliott said that this song has a country influence from Mutt Lange. The DL producer and cowriter listened to country while growing up in Rhodesia and South Africa.
Far and away the best tutorial I have ever seen thank you so much and keep up the great work. Every detail put in and every question I have is answered
The main riff and all the details on guitar are so beautiful in this music! It sounds perfect in a dreamy vibe more slow with delay and reverb. I'll try to record a video singing and playing it. Cheers!
Here is just a little interesting side note. Def Leppards original guitarist Pete Willis does a really cool solo on the song Rock Brigade. Kind of reminds me a lot of Michael Schenker type playing.
I remember learning this a while back, but I definitely need to refresh on the skills with it haha. Amazing work, and this is top 3 for Def Leppard for me!
Killer song I bought this album when I was a junior in high school I believe after I me and my uncle were pyromania out so bad tape broke and we had to toss it out my window lol. Some of the best of the eighties and MTV videos.
@@Cobra21245 in those days 89 or so we were pretty wild driving down the road in my car my friend was like the tape broke you were it out and he just tossed it. Different time and era I miss those days and hearing this song brings those back also I had just bought my first real guitar 88 strat black.
Carl Brown, 577 likes , zero dislikes. That speaks volumes of how good it is. Vaginas don't even do as well. Lol. Your videos are second to none. Your teaching techniques are so informative without boring a person to sleep. You help me a great deal (thanks for that) & I know I'm not the only one waiting to see what's next. Thanks again for sharing your talent & helping make some of us look better.
Love this song! It reminds me a little of another great song that has the same kind of vibe, Missing You by John Waite. But both songs stand on their own merit.
I have a clean tone guitar set and really needed this! Now I can learn something that will sound good! It's so hard to try to learn a crunchy song with a clean tone guitar cause it always sounds bad
What a great lesson , just sat though this playing along .Really well presented and well set out . Used a fender Mustang micro which is great for learning with the backing lesson or track going 👍👍👍👍🎸🎸🎸 many thanks !!!
you really should do a lesson for both "Dangerous" and "We Belong" both by Def Leppard. it would be greatly appreciated by many due to the songs not exactly being popular but have amazing guitar lines and riffs
Definitely one of the best songs to play ‘Especially with the boss katana ‘ You can get that identical sound With the FX ‘ Just sounds so Fuckn Awesome 🎸🎸🎸🎸
Carl: Late getting to this lesson (terrific)….once again, what gear are you getting the gain tones from….amp, pedal, modeler? Thanks and keep up the great work 👍🎸

You should definitely do more Def Leppard.
The solo to this song gets me every time, it's so simple yet SO musically pleasing to listen to. You just feel it. Such a feel good tune in every aspect.
One of the best songs when you are driving down the road in your vehicle.
I said the same thing
It's even better on the lawn mower
At midnight
Definitely agree
Absolutely 🌀🐺🤘🏻
Ahhh.....my all time favorite Def Leppard song. Clark was a guitar magician who is so under appreciated. So glad you uploaded this.
Steve Clark is a legend.
Dan Zvonek ....saddens me that someone so tortured personally can then create something so great.
Legendary band. That’s all.

Learning Def Leppard can be like doing 2 or 3 songs. They truly are so good, I saw them live and they hit everything so spot on. Great lesson, thanx.

@@jamisonc7500 yo buddy, thanks for replying, do you think I should make the list smaller, so he will have a look?
iamamz I think he already has a decent list to get through already but maybe he’ll see it

After I seen Def Leppard in 81' for the first time in Dallas Texas,
On Through the Night tour I knew right then they would go a long way
That tone is so dope
Thank u Carl. Really love this band. Rip Steve steamin Clark..😥

carl bro... you must do Switch 625 off of High 'n' Dry. cool lesson. \m/
Thanks!!
Great lesson.. My theory is Leppard was screwing around with Christopher Cross's "Sailing" and came up with beautiful tune.
Love the work, keep it up!
