el Seed and Aya Tarek discuss calli-graffiti - السيد وآية طارق عن الجرافيتي

نجح الفنان التونسي الفرنسي السيد في تصدر ساحة فن الجرافيتي بالمنطقة العربية في السنوات القليلة الماضية، اذ يتميز أسلوبه بمزج فنون الخط العربي التقليدية بفن الجرافيتي، ويشدد السيد على وجود رسالة في أعماله مستوحاة من نقاشاته مع أهالي المناطق المختلفة التي يعمل بها، وقد طور أسلوب رسمه تدريجياً عندما بدأ يدرس قراءة وكتابة اللغة العربية بباريس في العقد الماضي.
قمنا بزيارة السيد في مركز تشكيل للفنون بدبي العام الماضي ودعونا فنانة الشارع السكندرية آية طارق لمحاورته حول مصادر الهامه واللغة البصرية التي طورها والطرق التي يتفاعل بها الناس مع أعماله في المنطقة العربية والغرب.
عرضت أعمال السيد في صالات عرض وشوارع ومتاحف في جميع أنحاء العالم، كما ظهرت في كثير من المطبوعات والمنشورات العالمية. ورسم السيد جدارية على مئذنة مسجد بطول ٤٧ متر بمسقط رأسه بجبس بتونس عام ٢٠١٢، كما كلفته هيئة متاحف قطر بتصميم أربعة أنفاق على طريق سلوى عام ٢٠١٣، وتعاون السيد مع دار لويس فويتون بتصميم وشاح كجزء من تشكيلة خريف/شتاء ٢٠١٣.

Born to Tunisian parents in the suburbs of Paris, el Seed has risen to the forefront of the Arab graffiti scene over the past few years. He stands out for his unique style which mixes Arabic calligraphy with the modern art of graffiti, relying on poignant messages and unconventional writing styles. el Seed started out as a business consultant and gradually developed his style while learning to read and write in Arabic over the past decade
Last spring, Medrar.TV and Alexandrian street artist Aya Tarek visited el Seed in Dubai's Tashkeel arts center where he was staying for a residency to discuss his sources of inspiration and the ways his work has been received by local audiences and in the West
eL Seed’s art has been shown on the walls of Paris, New York, Jeddah and Melbourne, in addition to his home country Tunisia. He completed a piece about unity on the 47 meter-high minaret of the Jara mosque in Gabes, Tunisia in 2012. He was commissioned by the Qatar Museums Authority to paint tunnels in Doha in 2013. el Seed took part in La Tour Paris 13, the largest collective street art exhibition in the world, and has collaborated with international luxury brand Louis Vuitton, where he created a unique calligraffiti design for the classic monogram scarf

Im a big fan of elSeed. much respect to the guy. im not arab and i dont understand Arabic writing, but the way he said it, you dont have to understand to appreciate, i somehow felt that way the first time a saw his calligrafitti. there is more to it than just a stroke and as a form of art. it reaches out in a very spiritual and very involving way.
