    It reminds me a lot of the Ravens system with Lamar. If Lamar wasn't a good passer too it wouldn't work. Same with Hurts. He had to actually be a passing threat in order to keep defenses in that "squirrel in the middle of the road" position where they don't know what level the Eagles are attacking with.

      @@alexbobb9158 Lamar can run 21 MPH. When you're that fast you don't need to throw the perfect spiral all the time. Lamar is middle of the pack in terms of QBR (17). Yeah no he doesn't need to be top 10 with speed like that. Try again.

    • @AlexRollinsNFL
      @AlexRollinsNFL  3 роки тому +10

      I think we've seen Lamar develop into a competent passer without the necessity to rely as much on the run game. Which as you said has helped him become that much more dominant

      @@AlexRollinsNFL Right just like this game vs the Bucs the commentator (I think it was Troy) continued to say play after play after play that Hurts just needs to give it to Devonta Smith to keep the defense honest. They were daring him to throw down field. Lamar can sling it decently down field. Is he super accurate? No but if he can connect to say Hollywood Brown every now and then for big yards the defense has to respect it and that means it opens up running lanes for Lamar and others.

    I am not sure if you remember, but I have commented on your videos before that I am an Eagles fan. I am certainly thrilled with how this season turned out! A lot of people told me that my Eagles are going 3-14 and 1-16. Yeah they beat somewhat bad teams but that goes to show that they're not the top 3 worst teams in the NFL like a lot of people predicted. And that also shows that they're an above average team with potential to be a contender next year with 3 first round picks (All top 20), a lot of money, and a lot of young players.

    • @co81385
      @co81385 3 роки тому +3

      Yes! What a difference a year makes, right? A year ago at this time, they were a laughing stock, and ithere wasn't too much hope to be found. But now, no matter what happens tomorrow, they have a good culture in place, a young, up and coming QB on a rookie contract, and a lot of cap space. (And three first round picks!) They're in a very good place.
      While you could make a case that the Eagles may have overachieved this year, because, yes, they did beat up on lesser teams, you could also make the case that they underachieved last year. They were done in last year by poor quarterback play and offensive line injuries.
      Coming into the season, I didn't think that they would be a 3-4 win team again. I felt that their offensive and defensive lines were too solid for them to be that bad. It goes to show you just how important the play of your lines is!

    Its been pretty good strides for this Eagles offense. Coach and staff and ideally Hurts is on his first full year on the job (rep wise) and it is very evident when they finally stumbled on who they are after week 6. Thing is the pieces have always been there. When healthy the O-line is very good. Their depth in their running game has various levels where in some cases they can play 2RB on the backfield. It almost looks like they want to play like Kliff's run game style which is full of different looks and ways to punch at the defense and get efficient yardage.

    Eagles in the playoffs, Colts not, and now have 3 first round draft picks (including one from the Colts). Playing with a cheap rookie wage QB means they can also get some free agents. Obviously the head coach looking good also.

    I think in the conditions the game will be played in, the game-plan definitely plays into the Eagles hands, the Bucs defense will be on the field so much, the Eagles will be able to wear them down in the run game, in 20-30 MPH winds with rain projected

      I'm a little confused by Eagles fans who want a run only game. That just makes Bowles job easier, and VV on a bad day still eats Kelce and a guard and closes up anything up the gut.
