oh this is excellent! I've been searching for a modern solution for the mouse card for a while now. I'm glad something is on the market to replace them now!
even the retro add-ons for apple machines have adopted modern Apple corp's practices. (you need to by additional dongles to enable daisy chain or to make your new device produce retro sounds lol).
New Sub; Dryden, Mich. Well Done Brotha! My older Cuz's had an OG Apple ][, Loved that thing when I got to spend the weekend after easter LOL My being a Nerd that likes to Max out anything, Would really love to find an Apple ][ GS Keep it Up!
I appreciate the modern conveniences but there's just something about it that feels counter to the entire purpose of having an old PC. I just don't want to emulate a disk drive with an SOC that's 100x more powerful than the machine, when I could just as easily emulate the ENTIRE MACHINE on that SOC.
with these early microcomputers, original timings between circuits may not work correctly in emulator software, they can be different in many other ways, too. This can be done in FPGAs like MiSTer, but that's a whole other discussion. The fact is with old disks and old disk drives, you're wearing them out when you continue to use them, and I don't think 5.25" floppies are even made anymore. You're argument is something like "visting the U.S.S. Constitution (1797 "Old Ironsides" world's oldest commissioned naval warship) in dock doesn't recreate the feeling enough, we should have her sail everyday! or "we should just replace the entire ship so it can be sailed everyday". It's totally impractical not to make some compromises on equipment never built to function when they became this old. And believe it or not, there wasn't much magic waiting for stuff to load from an old floppy drive, or worse, tape cassette drive! Plus WIFI to actually move those files without waiting long or depending on unreliable drives.
That Platinum //e is so handsome. I have the Floppy Emu as well, I use it with my //gs.
Great look at some excellent hardware.
Thanks for sharing! You should make another video showing off all of your retro-computers and accessories, looks like you have a lot of neat stuff.
YT recommendations hits again - very nice video! Keep it up!

4:20 Editing tip: Mute the background music if you're playing music in the main video.
Edit: Weird, you did do that at 5:11. 🙂

Great info! (Subscribed!!) Great 80's hair! You wear it well! 🤣👍
Subscribed. This is pretty cool information on the products.
That's a good music playing on the background. Where did you get it?
Games have a special longevity that productivity software struggles to match.

What, no ProDOS succession tour? Or...you know, reading presence instead of dead-insiding it?
nice video!
Question, are you wearing a wig?
Why the wig, the uh old car, and the audio shabbiness?
Do Americans pronounce Emulator "Emoolator"? Just curious. I've never heard it called Emoo before.
We say ehm-you-lator. "Emoo" actually Floppy Emu, is the name of the product he's demonstrating.
Even the guys at E-mu didn't pronounce it that way.
Also it’s spelled “Emu” and the American pronunciation of that word (meaning a large flightless bird) is “Ee-moo”.
I thought this guy died
yeah applewin will letyouun a the old software and program.
