    Just did mine today and WOW! Super crisp and much snappier. My second gear was feeling a little notchy and this completely took care of it. 10/10 highly recommended. Thank you the DIY!!

    I didn't have any issue on my s2k. But, another ff honda(rsx) has problem at 3rd gear during sport driving. So, gear was changed to neutral. Power train was open. After changing to detent spring with higher k, no more issue happened. Thanks for your uploading.

    I felt the difference for sure in my crusty AP1. Installed these at the same time I did a clutch flywheel install. Thanks for the video and the groovy music was nice!

    YES i was waiting for this one. On track, i always felt the S2k shifter to be a bit lacking, so was hoping that these will help alleviate that. Seems like they do help, so they are going in! Thanks a ton for another great video!

    I used 4 jacks and only removed the Denso o2 sensor from the cat.converter.
    I used a 3/8 ratchet on some where I had access and then a 1/4 ratchet and with some fingers hands arm squeezing I managed to get the job done..some were very easy some needed more patience.But yes can defiantly be done without having to remove parts.

    i did these today, felt like it added some weight to the shifter, left right feels crispier, almost like an illusion of short shifter. Imo it was not really worth it personally, kinda made it harder to relax while driving, just hoped it would reduce the slop, which it minimized.

    Thanks for the install video. I have the same set of springs waiting to get installed. Looking forward to the better feel. Was going to do mine when doing the clutch when trans is out.

    About to do a clutch job in my Honda challenge s2000 racecar. I bought a set of these but sorta worried that doing all the springs would induce miss shifts on track..
    What are your thoughts on just doing the front to back and side to side springs? Did you notice more miss shifts after the springs installed?

    Thanks for the video! Stop using a torque wrench to break bolts loose, though! :)

      I only do it in dire circumstances and the 3/8 torque wrench just seems to be the perfect size :)

    I installed these with the trans. in the car. I did not remove any component or drop the transmission. I did use a lift so that helped a lot. Im sure it’s still possible on the ground if you lift up the car with plenty of clearance. I used a 1/4 inch ratchet (long handle for better leverage would be best) and had plenty of room from the bolts to the transmission tunnel. I have thin harms and medium sized hands so that helped. I would advise to get a good visual and attempt doing this job without removing components or dropping the transmission. Remove/drop components as necessary. As for opinion, i like it. Definitely notice a difference through shifts.

      Damn that is insane that you did it without dropping the transmission.

    • @manlb9254

      @@DIYGuysvideo 1/4 inch drive sockets and a matco ratchet (best for their slim head design) did the trick a swivel socket would probably help even more. The bolts aren’t that tight. But yes i was amazed how simple it turned out for me. I was honestly surprised that you recommended removal of the cat, O2 sensor and dropping the trans. I wasn’t expecting that but hey i know not everyone has slim arms and medium sized hands and can squeeze through everything haha. Anyways always appreciate your content man keep it up.

      I can attest. Was able to replace all detent springs without dropping the trans. Car was on 4 jack stands. There should be enough clearance and it helps if you have a test pipe.

      My shifter doesnt really spring into the middle gate on its own. are these the springs that help with that or is there another spring inside the transmission?

    • @manlb9254
      @manlb9254 2 роки тому

      @@samdavis1228 yes these should help with that. Either way start there for these are really inexpensive

    Its not perfectly clear which bolt is the Left-Right that gets the unique black spring.
    When you are pointing out all the bolt locations on the removed transmission (awesome you were able to provide that clarity!), it would be ideal if you could indicate with the voiceover which one controls Left-Right.
    From the under car video, it looks like it might the highest one on the right?

    • @DIYGuysvideo
      @DIYGuysvideo  2 роки тому +3

      Yep it is the highest one on the right side. Hybrid racing has a video as well as installation instructions that document which springs perform which function in much more detail than I wanted to go into.
