hi mate thanks for the video , i have tp link adsl router it was off for a while when i came to power it on it freezed and every time i power it on only the adsl light and the 4 lans lights are always on no blinking just freezing no power light or wifi or anything just the adsl and the lans , can u help me ? thank you
Dude! IT WORKED! Thaaaaank you so much! A voiceover/narrative would have helped, but I actually debricked my Archer C7 v2 setting up a tftp server. ONE TIP: Disable Windows Defender Firewall during the process. You want to be sure the router has access to UDP port 69.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIP, the firewall blocked the connection and i didn't know why tftp couldn't see the router, after seeing your tip everything worked like a charm
Bro u are lifesaver I actually had ddwrt firmware on this and it didn't work and I looked at blogs and videos and the way they explained how to put stock firmware back on didn't work but this did thanks and by the way I subbed!!!!
Thanks for the video. Didn't initally work log viewer showed request of v3 recovery bin even though router on the back was v2. Changed the file name and crossed my fingers and it worked.
Great help to see the output of the console during boot! Can you share what the connections to the 4 pin console header are on the PCB? I have a C7 V4 that boots up with the power light on for about 4 secs. It then it goes out. Only the two LEDs on the back by the USB ports light momentarily. I have soldered a 4 pin header to the console port on the PCB. When power is turned on, I get these voltages: p1=3.38V, p2=0.0(gnd), p3=0.0, p4=2.56v pins 1 to 4 looking from the back towards the front of the router. I'm sure pin2 in my case is gnd.
It appears the console connection should be as follows: Pin1 = VCC(3.38V) NOTE: PIN1 as I'm calling it, reads full 3.38V supply voltage. Pin2 = Gnd No voltage on a Multimeter between grd and the pin Pin3 = Rx Pin4 = Tx (2.56V)

I had a problem with the TFTP that says "ACK Block". I tried to figure out what is the problem for 2 hours. The problem was the sh!tty laptop, switched and connected to my old pc that was in the basement and everything fine.
i use DD-WRT v3.0-r28493 std (12/10/15) for this unit, not bad better wifi rates then openwrt, only have led bug on LAN led, when gigabit connectionon lan led start blinking again
Archer C7 v2. My router has same bricked light pattern. I follow this process and the file transfers to the router (i see the brief transfer progress bar on the pc and the log shows it transfered), but it remains bricked with the same flashing pattern shown in the video. It doesn't even seem to do anything with the file after it transfers. Goes right back to bricked light pattern. I have tried different version of the firmware and "stripped" versions as well with no luck. Any ideas?
if you have serial console, you can see your u-boot blocked the firmware (some u-boot version) so you have to find the right flash version or maybe re-write your u-boot
Some time your u-boot is blocked by vendor so cannot accept other version. You can solder console to see if that is the case. I have another solution is copy whole flash chip from another router and flash it to yours.
try to do it on a different computer. and download WinRAR to extract the file and then follow the upgrade process I had same issues finally got it back to stock firmware. just four web GUI.
i tried this but nothing ever happens. All i see is the serial interface changes back to 127.0.0.1, the WPS logo doesnt disappear, and nothing ever copies over. I tried 192.168.1.66 and 192.168.0.66

not sure what should be your router problem, try to clean and dry it. Then use serial console to check what is going on.
i realize I'm kind of randomly asking but does anybody know of a good place to stream new tv shows online?

This worked for my Archer C7 but I had to change my IP to 192.168.1.66 before TFTP would see my router. Thank you very much.

If your u-boot does not support tftp, use serial method instead.
